This company is now using 605-231-4229.

I wonder if they can be sued in small claims court as they are violating both federal and state law (Do Not Call lists), engaging in deceptive business practices (using spoofed numbers in order to appear as a local company when it isn't), and who knows if the device & monitoring service they claim to provide actually exist and/or work.

These pathetic misfits are continuing to call using various spoofed numbers -- I assume that they are the same ones as the content of the message seems identical although with the latest calls it is now a female reading the message rather than the male as in the previous calls.

Latest numbers used:  605-413-1611 with a caller ID name of Sioux Falls  SD
605-299-4874 with a caller ID name of Mitchell        SD.

It appears as these people have changed their name again.  They are no longer calling themselves "Elite Information Solutions".  They are now going by the name "The Credit Voice".  They changed their name from "Elite Information Solutions" to "The Credit Voice" the day after Indiana Attorney General filed suit against "Elite Information Solutions dba Safeline Alert".  According to the Florida Department of Agriculture (licensing body of telemarketers in Florida) "The Credit Voice" is licensed to telemarket medical alert equipment at 495 Semoran Blvd. Casselberry, Florida. It looks like "The Credit Voice" main headquarters is located in Clearwater, Florida.

Complain to your State Attorney General's office. Indiana State Attorney General filed suit against this company in August, putting a restraining order on them to stop calling people in Indiana.  Indiana had over 600 complaints on this company.  Your state will listen if they get enough complaints, your complaint definity counts. This company stopped calling Indiana, but they are still calling the rest of the states and now starting to call Canada.  If every state puts a restraining order on them, they will have no one to call in the US.

Check out what Indiana is doing to them:

The name of this company is Elite Information Solutions out of Casselberry, Florida, but the company is using a UPS store address in Orlando for their principal place of business.  Company owner is Michael Hilgar.  This company goes by several FAKE names.  Here are a few names that they are using:  Safeline Medical Alert, Senior Medical Benefits, Senior Medical Advisory, Senior Alert Line, and Senior Safeline.

We're now receiving calls from this number but do not answer incoming calls of any kind unless there's Caller ID.  Wouldn't hurt to let the South Dakota PUC know about calls shown as coming from a South Dakota number but originating from Florida.  May be some interesting legalities involved.  Yes, Do Not Call was a nice concept but to see the big loopholes in the Act all you have to do is look at all the Privacy notices sent out by your credit card companies, banks, etc.   Almost all of them state that unless you call them they can share your information with their associated companies.  Define associated companies, as such would apply to Capitol One, for example.

Received another call from this number.  This time I pressed '1' to find out what it was about.   The representative that I talked to offered me the $400+ device free along with free shipping.    He said that there was a $35.95/month (maybe it was $34.95/month -- something like that anyway) non-contract monitoring fee that could be cancelled at any time.   He said that I should sign up right away because he couldn't guarantee how long the offer would be available -- maybe not even tomorrow.     The representative spent quite a bit of time on the phone with me and kept asking why I wouldn't make a commitment.

He asked if I had any questions and remembering what Al said below about it possibly being a Florida company, I asked how the weather was in Florida.   He said it was nice and that he was in a call center right outside Orlando  (Orlando is near Casselberry  which Al mentioned).  I guess that I should have asked that if he was in Florida why they were spoofing a South Dakota number to make it appear that the call was coming from South Dakota, but I didn't think of it.

He certainly wasn't the worst telemarketer that I've had to deal with.    But, who knows what will happen next since I talked to one of their representatives.  Usually, it is not a good idea to talk to them at all.   And, the calls are still in violation of the Do Not Call list.

This is a recorded message about some type of senior medic alert device --  you can press something (on the device, I assume) and never have to worry about being alone again (according to the message).    The device is supposedly "absolutely no charge", but I suspect that if you are hooked by that line, then they will insist on selling some sort of expensive long term monitoring contract.  The message, at the end. does give an option to press '1' in order to order the device or press '5' to be removed from the calling list -- I've never had one of those removal options work.   The call was disconnected by the caller before I could decide what to do, which certainly would not have included actually buying whatever they were supposedly selling.

The point is that prerecorded telemarketing calls are illegal without prior written agreement and my phone number has been on the national do not call list nearly since its  inception, and I in no way directly, or indirectly, gave permission to whomever this is to be calling me.    So, this call was illegal in multiple ways.

South Dakota residents (and I far as I know the calls from this number are only being made to South Dakota) can report these calls to the South Dakota Public Utilities Commission at 1-800-332-1782 or e-mail: PUCConsumerInfo@state.sd.us or the federal no not call list or FTC.

The 385 telephone prefix is apparently a Rapid City area prefix, the same type of calls are/were being made from an Aberdeen area prefix, too -- if I remember what I read here some time ago correctly.
