Well here's the deal Eric, if you do impersonate policemen or any law enforcement entity, YOU, not the person who supposedly didnt pay their bills, are breaking the law.  Not only are you violating the fdcpa, but you could very well face criminal penalties also.  Impersonating a public servant is a criminal offense and you border on extortion at that point.  Police officers protect and serve and dont collect bills, that dirty job is up to people like you.  Impersonating a police officer will get you a quick investigation by the FTC and FBI.  Great you make 80000 a year but if you're breaking the law while doing it, which it sure sounds like you are, its going to catch up with you one day.  If your company was legit you wouldn't be saying that you impersonate law enforcement.

If you're "forced" to use those tactics, you're not a debt collector. You're a  Fraud. A Criminal. A Conman. A Parasite. A self-serving, poor excuse for a human being. Simple as that. Skeffa Ett Liv!

You should be ashamed of yourself! The tactics you use are illegal and unethical. Did you ever once stop to think that maybe the people who owe these debts may have fallen on hard times?  I sincerely doubt you make $80,000.00 a year. But I do believe you can sleep at night. Why? Because you have no conscious!

bottom line to be honest.....we debt collectors shouldnt have to stoop to such lows as impersonating court officials or policeman to collect debts if these dead beats would just pay their bills to begin with. It is a shame that america is in the 5 trillion dollar deficit bc of consumers that feel they dont have to pay the debts. I am truly ashamed at my job and really dont like it at all. But unfortunatly I cannot find another 80,000 dollar a year job. I have a degree in accounting and the jobs start at 8 dollars an hour. So i continue to do what i do and pay my bills unlike the people i call everyday. Thats the truth about this. My company is legit and licensed in all the states I call on. But we are forced to use s****y tacticts bc s****y people dont wanna pay by common fdcpa compliant methods. period

And now we have a more literate bogus debt collector! Oh boy!
So let's get a bit more serious then. You think he has a legitimate claim? Then he can prove it. Legally, by following federal law regarding debt collections. By providing proof of his claim, on request, in writing, by mail. NOT e-mail or fax. He will have 5 days to provide said information after first contact with the debtor. Failure to do so is a violation of the FDCPA. The debtor will then demand a letter of validation. Which will include all of the information as required by federal law. Failure to provide the debtor with said letter is a violation of the FDCPA.
The debt collector will provide his name, his companys name, their valid phone number and valid address or they will be in violation of federal law.
The debtor will of course check on the validity of any debt collectors claims. He will verify that the collector is licensed in his state to collect debts. He will confirm with the original creditor that the collectors claim is valid. He will follow the chain of title and confirm that the collector has a valid claim. He will check the Statutes of Limitations in his state and determine if the collector has any legal recourse to pursue him with anything other than bluster and BS. He will check his credit reports and determine if any fraudulent activity has taken place. And he will contact an Attorney if he is harassed or any other violations of the FDCPA have occured.
So Hot-shot, you think this joker is going to be following the practices that a legitimate debt collection firm will? Do you follow them? I thought not.
Stick to preying on the naive, pal. You won't find them here.

Could you explain what a "wim" is and how one might place information on it?

The criminals behind these scams get people's personal information from many sources. There are web sites where you can trade in personal information, credit card numbers, SS numbers, etc. for a price.

Oh "Eric", have you ever heard of "internet hacking"?! Are you shills the only idiots that think this s*** doesn't happen?!? And I supposed you believe 9/11 was a conspiracy? Why don't you Google your name and see how much info comes up about YOU! Obviously, you didn't read the frigging post I wrote because I explained exactly where these jerks are getting people's info from. Either go find a real job or get the F*CK off this site and stop trying to convince people you're for real! You should be ASHAMED of yourself ROBBING other people to get money for yourself! But, then, drug addicts don't really have any morals left, do they? The fact is, if I ever got robbed by one of you and one of my kids went hungry so you could fill a needle or a pipe; I'd hunt you down and SKIN YOU ALIVE. GO AWAY, "ERIC".

Yes, but I'm sure you've noticed that most of these shills are mentally un-armed. I think it's almost safe to say all of the ones I've encountered on here have been! It's quite amusing because they all have the same "I know you are but what am I?" response to every intelligent, logical post defending people not paying scam collectors with "pay your bills, you deadbeat". They can't come up with any kind of reasoning besides that, even though pretty much all of the people on here are just trying to find out if this is indeed the "company" to pay their bills to. No one, to my knowledge, has ever come on here and said "I don't want to pay my bills, so I look up numbers just to see who I am not going to pay this time". I agree, it's much more amusing to have a "worthy adversary" to argue with; arguing with these idiots would be akin to going to war with Canada. What's the point? It'd just be a one-sided shelling!

OMG, this IS the funniest thread I've ever seen! It looks as if a shill started a thread to stage a preemptive strike on people coming here to learn the TRUTH?! Thank you Gunnar for sticking up for the folks who would rather pay the company that OWNS the debt LEGALLY and not the crackhead who needs a fix so bad, he/she would sell their frigging first born! I'm getting soooo sick of this scam! I just wish people would get smart about this and stop paying these criminals. Scams only exist when they're effective, the sooner people learn this is WRONG, the sooner these a-holes will go away and find some other way to get their rock...

Just don't know when to call it quits, do you? Listen up! You're a transparent fraud. You are so incredibly inept that your posts have the ability to leap right off the page and scream "Look at me! I'm a world class loser and I'm not even good at being a fraud!".
At least we can all feel comfortable in knowing that you won't be at this long. You certainly aren't intelligent enough to be successful at scamming, so you'll starve to death soon.
Now go back to doing whatever perverse things that immoral sub-humans do while they're waiting for God to send them to Perdition.

Donald, your reading comprehension is below average even by the usual standards of "pay your debt" trolls on this site. That's a remarkable achievement, though not a commendable one.

The fact is that Susan stated very clearly she confirmed with the authorities that this is a scam. Quite a common one these days, I'm afraid: people pretending to be legitimate debt collectors and using lies about "warrants", "summons", and "lawsuits" to frighten people into paying money they don't owe.

I mention these details only for the benefit of others who might stumble upon this thread, of course. *You* know exactly how this extortion scam works, don't you "Donald"? (Wink, Wink)
