Cherry Valley NY showed up on the landlady's caller ID. Don't recognize the number? Don't pick up.

Call to lower your credit card interest rate press 3 to discontinue offers, only tells them the number is valid and the calls increase. Another number for these b*****ds to add to the block list. Up to 15 so far and the FTC can't catch these people. Known as Rachel and the Robo Telemarketers...since they are all female voices used.

Called the number and a recording of a lady with a London, England accent came on I left a message that I was on the Do Not Call list

SOOOOO ROYALLY PISSED OFF!!!  Repeated calls to my elderly parents, from this unidentified, Cherry Valley, New York company, number  607-264-2860 (Verizon carrier), and my parents are on the government "DO NOT CALL LIST"!! I was told by the foreign man I spoke with that it would cost $100 to remove us from their call list!!!  This is harassment, invasion of privacy and total b***s***!!!  I will file a complaint to the New York Better Business, the FCC and everyone I can come up with! THIS IS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!!!

You can report these calls at http://www.donotcall.gov but it probably won't do any good.  The Do Not Call List is for legitimate telemarketers to use so they know who not to call and it works pretty good.  Scammers and others in foreign countries don't subscribe to the list and don't care anyway.  They likely use a robo-dialer that dials numbers in sequence.  That's why most of the time there's nobody there when you answer.  The number that shows up on your caller ID is probably not a real number.  There are two things you can do: (1.) Don't answer if your caller ID displays a number or location you don't recognize.  (2.) Spend a few bucks and get a call blocker for your phone line, or use your phone service provider's call blocker.

If you answer or try to call back, they know they've hit a valid number and they won't leave you alone, plus they will sell a list of all the numbers they believe to be valid to other scammers.

Try this the next time you are actually able to speak to real person that claims to want to lower your credit card interest rate:

Give a fake VISA card number such as "4627-0519-4328-7147" (I hope this is a fake number anyway!)
Fake bank "Bank of Wichita"
Fake balance "$8500.00"
Fake interest rate "15%"
Fake expiration date "07/16"
Fake 800 number for bank "1-800-225-5324"  (This is actually the National FBI toll-free line)

You will probably be told to hang on while they verify your balance.  Don't hang on, instead hang up while they contact the FBI.  :-)

If they're really pi$$ed, you'll get a couple of calls back in short succession.  Don't answer.  Take the money you saved by not being scammed and go buy a call blocker.

I got a call back that I did answer and the caller called me a funny man, then hung up.

Rec'd call .  No message.  A search showed the number from Cherry Valley, New York.  I'm in FL.

The president has nothing to do with it. It was the same when Bush was president. Just don't answer the phone if you don't know or recognize the number. That's what I do. If it's actually something important they will leave a message.

Message says because I made my payments on time they are offering me a lower monthly payment, etc., just press "1."  I don't have any monthly payments!

Vote out ALL INCUMBENTS since the ones in office are NOT doing their job.  Once the light bulb goes on then maybe just maybe they will realize to be re-elected (no-no) they have to start working.  I only have room to block 30 calls and needless to say - it is FULL.  Can't find a phone that holds more.  Let's curtail all politicians foreign travels - there is so much in our good old USA that needs tending to and stop giving.  Keep the money here in our country where it is earned and meant to be spent.

Scam, scam, scam!! They call and offer to reduce  credit card rates. I have no credit cards for a good reason, to not get into any trouble with debt. I ask them to remove me and they hang up, but two hours later call back!

Yes, yes, yes!! Stupid people who elected, then reelected our moron president are too stupid to see how much damage he has caused this country. I am sick of these scam artists that continue to call, then when you ask to have them remove your name, they call even more and hang up on you. I have had 4 different scammers call this last week. I constantly report on this and the FTC website, but nothing is being done! It's getting worse!!! Someone needs to do something!!

These people have contacted me on 5-19, 5-23 and today 5-31. Only rings twice, never leaves message. The location does come up as Cherry Valley, New York the phone number is through Verizon . I spoke with this telemarketer on 5-23-14 said he can save me money on my credit cards by lowering my interest rates. He said they show i have a mastercard and a visa I said his information is incorrect. I have "NO" credit cards at all!! He hung up on me and of course called again today 5-31-14. WTF. So I guess it doesnt matter wether you have credit cards or not they will continue to harrass people because Im sure they get paid for every call they make even if they dont talk to someone.

I have received 2 calls from the same number today.  The calls actually go to my fax machine though so they will never get a live person.  It also said from Cherry, NY.  I assumed it was a scam or telemarketing.  I am on the national do not call registry as well and my number is non published.  I can only assume that the person who owned my number before was listed.  Anyway, it is quite annoying that they keep calling my fax machine but as long as I don't have to speak to them it's ok.

My daughter's guy friend answered the phone and acted like a lady answering the phone.  The caller with his Indian accent got pretty crude and started making sexual advances.  He asked for bra size and said he wanted to do "things" with her.We were laughing because it was on the speaker phone.  Then it got gross and we hung up! Clearly not a legit business caller.  Just don't answer.

4 calls from them in less than a half hour. WTF !!  I just had a phone installed at the house and no one has my phone number yet. Random calls or are they looking for the person who had the phone number before me.
