I see the first post was in 2011. Here it is...2014 and this same number is still being used for the same purpose. Guy called to tell me he represented Microsoft and I had used their tech support previously. He was calling to tell me someone was trying to get into my computer and he was going to help me block that. Told him I didn't use Microsoft.  I called the number back. Usually I get a message that this number is not in service, but this number is picked up by the National Tutoring Network. I'm not sure why its been reported, probably by many people, and is still being used for the same illegal purposes for 3 years!

Just had a voicemail left from this number.  It was a recording of a man with no accent saying "Hello......... we've found your cat.......what's that?..........that's odd.....so this isn't your cat?.......(talks to someone in the background about putting down the fake cat)......ok well we've got it all sorted out." and it hangs up.  It was more funny than anything but it makes me wonder what they were looking for from me.  Didn't ask for money....

got a call from 6073978255 (caller ID said New York call) after talking to "Charles" who would not give me his employee # (and quickly wanted to hag up after being asked for it) gave me this number 8883476357 to call him back.. got this same type of call the other day (Windows technical support - we have been getting error messages from your computer) but I think I deleted the number in my caller ID  :/

THIS makes me want to NEVER answer a call from anyone I don't know.. the other day when I got the call I actually sat down in front of the computer and was falling for it until he wanted me to push the windows key and another )i think it was R) which I never had any tech support ask me to do, ever!)  I opted out - Thankful for that!!

I received a call 607-397-8255 from a man with a strong Middle Eastern accent stating there's a problem with my windows operating system.  He then asks if I am in front of my computer, so he can take control and fix the problem.  Does he think I'm and idiot?!  I've told him both times they've called that if I have a problem I would call Microsoft.

Just received a call from this number, A guy with an Indian accent claiming to be from Tmobile offering me 40% discount, bearing in mind I'm not even with this particular network. Had two missed calls while at work yesterday from two other weird numbers, no message left. Told him I knew exactly what he was up too and made sure he wouldn't call back again, how naive do they think we are!

I received a call from this number just today.  A woman with with a heavy Southwest Asian accent was on the other end!  I asked her three times who and where she was from.  She simply asked if I had a computer?  I don't think I'll get a call from her or anyone from where she's from or works for considering what I told her!!!  LOL!!!

My mom recieved a call today from this person. He said he was from microsoft and was going to help clear up problems 2122 of them from her new computer (Windows 8). She followed instructions to allow him on her computer to show her the errors. While there he disabled her login and eliminated the safe recover mode and I suspect the any recover routine.
He wanted a CC for purchase of an Anti-Virus program he was selling. She said she was not interested and that is when he told her that he had disabled her computer and it could not be enabled by anyone but him.
My reseach showed that he had indeed disabled her login, and eliminated the admin account and who knows what. Talked to somone who works for a computer store and they said that they could not reenable the login because their corporate office would not let them do that. So I guess maybe in worst case will have to repurchase Windows 8 and reload to repair the system at a cost of 200-300.00.
I think we need to organize a computer nerd group and finance them to go after these people (I know goverment could care less). Someone has to declare war on these people otherwise it is just going to get worse and who knows which of your family members will be next and what the results may be????

Just received a call from someone claiming to be from Microsoft calling about Windows. Since the caller spoke with a heavy accent (South Asia is my guess), I asked him to repeat what he said; he immediately hung up. Was a good bit of background noise.

They are getting your name and phone number from your isp, cable, or telephone company who outsources their services to these goons in India. The phone company gives them your phone number and name. The first call is to offer you services from the phone or cable company, the second is to scam you with the windows scam or some other scam. Tell your service providers if they do not stop outsourcing your information to foreign countries you will stop doing business with them. Never give any information to anyone for any services from your telephone, internet service provider, or cable company when they call you. Call them back yourself if you want a service, and make sure they are situated in your country and tell them to bill you.

This is been going on for 2 weeks now. first it was a lawsuit out of OH and now it's a lawsuit out of FL. They guy wont stop calling me.  I even tell him about the fair debt collection act of 1996 that I can't get phone calls at work and they still call so I know this is not a true collector. He will call back 3 to 4 times in a row and they try differnt numbers.

These people called my MagicJack number while I was away and my wife was there alone.  Fortunately, she called me about it while he was on the other line and trying to get into my computer. He told he we had a virus and our computer was going to crash any day.  My wife is not computer savvy and this a**hole was scaring her. She was almost hysterical since we rely on our computer and magicjack for our telephone at our vacation home. I told her to let me speak with this guy and she switched over. I spoke with him and he said we had a virus and he had been monitoring my computer and he needed to get in and fix this. I asked what company he was with and he said he was Microsoft certified but would not give me a company name. Finally after I asked 5 times he said Nerds4Computers. Never heard of them. He said I was a customer of theirs. I told my wife, who was on the other line to just turn off the computer and disconnect his call. If I find who he is, Lord help him. No one scares my wife and goes away unscathed.....no one.

Scammers. do not believe a word they say. they will use multiple scam attempts to scare you or trick you into giving them personal information. Usually the same individuals. a couple guys and a female. They are relentless and NEVER give up. Must be their small brains in use. Any SMART scammer would realize who is not falling for their pathetic scam attempt and will move on. These guys obviously are not that bright. Do not give them money, do not give them or verify information. They are nothing but pathetic thieves who need to get off their a** and get a real job.
