My sister asked me .... she was called by this number and was told that they were from microsoft in america and that my sister had a virus on her computer that was untraceable. They would gladly help her to get rid of the virus of she was willing to start her computer and then they would give her instructions.

Luckely my sister didn't and called me to ask what to do. I suspected a scam and saw the number wasn't united states.

Received a call at 5:45 am from this New York number. I live on the west coast of Canada. Heavy Indian accent. He asked for me by name. When I told him the time, he said it was an emergency. So I asked what it was, and he said I needed to go to my computer right now because there was a problem with it and he was going to help me out. I'm afraid I wasn't very polite when I responded to that suggestion of the 'emergency'. Wondering what I can do to get him back...I wish these people would get a real job. How many people really give them any money?

I answered and told him he was a scammer.  He told me he was a hacker and was in my bank accounts and was going to take everything out.  I asked him specific questions which he could not answer.  I told him to examine his life.

first got a call from 607-594-4641.  Thick accent saying they were from Microsoft & my computer had problems.  Knew it was scammers right away, but I was bored and figured I'd lead them on for a bit.  Could barely understand what this person was saying, but just kept saying 'ok' or 'yes'.  I think he wanted me to be near my computer.  Then he tells me to hold on while he gets his 'supervisor'.  I hung up.  They call me back right away, this time from 718-745-5293.  Same person tells me we were disconnected & hold on for his supervisor again.  Supervisor comes on with some English name, spoke better english but with an accent, starts telling me about Microsoft error reports blah blah blah.  Wasn't having any fun so I just told them I don't have time for this and hung up.  Was going to block these numbers but I already have 10 numbers blocked, which is Verizon's limit, from other past scammer calls.  Does anyone actually fall for this bs?

this idiot keeps calling me trying to get me to agree to a service to find my lost pet, they play on the emotions of others, I am heartbroken over my loss and they expect you to fall for it because you are grieving, they will do anything to get money from you.....they all should be shot.

I got the call two days ago. Thick accent. Said there was a problem with my computer. I said really? Which one? He says what? I said, I have several computers....which one is the problem? He says you have several computers, more than one? I said, yes, now tell me which one is having the problem... I bet you can't, can you? Then I hung up on him. If you don't just hang up right away...I say have some fun with it. Scam artists...

I just had the same call a few minutes ago and he went on about my computer so I said what computer I don't have one and then he is this not Mrs so and so, I said no and he gave an address in Sidney BC as I told him he had the wrong number and then said so sorry, and hung up on me. He also tried to tell me I was wrong and I said no you are wrong. now I have that number blocked. This male person said he was from Microsoft also, with the same East Indian Accent. I don't give anyone any info over the phone.

I noticed a call from this number on my caller ID. It said it was from Dandy Mini Mart. When I tried to call back the number, I got a message that the number was no longer in service. Obviously a scam.

A man with a thick indian accent called and said he was from Microsoft Windows. I told him I thought it was a scam and he said oh....he said, " your computer is sending things to our server.  I said which version of windows do I have? He said Microsoft.  I said look what do you want? He said oh you think this is a telemarketing... blah blah blah - I said I don't believe you and hung up.

Received two calls from this number this morning within an hour. The first one I missed and the second I answered. It was as many people have said a man with a very strong Indian accent, except he claimed to be calling from a company called Loans UK. I found this very strange considering that the call was from an American phone number and the caller ID stated that it was coming from New York.
I missed a call last night from a different number which my caller ID informed me was coming from Texas, which I assumed was a similar thing.

I just got a call from this number.  Guy with India accent. Hard to understand.   Said something about Microsoft.  I told him there was nothing wrong with my computer and hung up.

We get calls once a week from scam artist claiming our computer is badly infected and we need to let them have access so they can fix it..  Say they are from Windows...bull... we know it is a scam to get into our system...we hang up or say that person is deceased but they keep calling with same scam.  Sometimes a man sometimes a woman, always an Asain accent.  We are ready to called in the big guns..  Numbers they called on today are 210-824-0171 and 310-510-9156

It is amazing how much information you can obtain from the social networking sites, faceb ook and such. it is very easy to do and all you have to do is then come up with a reason to call and make some money by scamming or stealing from others.

ANYONE USING A SOCIAL NETWORKING SITE CAN BE SCAMED SO EASY

We were called today by the same guy. I live in the Netherlands and being called in English by Microsoft is very unlikely. The phone number is Malaysian, so I am afraid there is not much you can do about it.

Had call from this number 19.15pm 12/06/2013 kept asking me for my name date of birth and my address saying he had good news for me he said his name  was Nat other numbers which I received WAS +1 [630] 859-9364  AT 19.18pm 12/06/2013 +1 [607] 735-0870 12/06/2013 18.58 the line was extremely bad.

The guys accent not Indian but East African. Same tired MS story. I said that I don't own the computer and asked the guy to remove my phone from his list. He repeatedly refused it and get really agitated and threatened to call "your wide and your daughter". He will not hang up, don't even try, guys is a real jerk

WANTED ME TO ACCESS MY COMPUTER WHILE SHE WAS ON THE PHONE WITH ME.  SAID MY COMPUTER WAS SENDING OUT BOGUS EMAILS.  DURING THE CALL, I REC'D ANOTHER CALL FROM TRANE 210-824-0171 -- MAN WITH A HEAVY ACCENT.  SAID SORRY WE WERE DISCONNECTED AND THAT WE WERE JUST SPEAKING!  ... I SAID NO WE WEREN'T... I WAS JUST SPEAKING WITH A WOMAN.  WHEN I ASKED WHAT WAS GOING ON, THEY BOTH LINES HUNG UP!

Accent so thick that I barely recognized my first name.
The background noise didn't help either, so I didn't even try figuring out what he was looking for.
The caller ID says the number is 'Odessa, NY'

If it was because of viruses on my computer, it would be because I had just cleared a bunch of trojans off of my computer.

Jan 3, 2013:  I also got a call with an East Indian accent person today. He said he was calling from "Windows company"' and it was about my computer. I just hung up.

I vaguely remember a man with similar voice had called me last year and he said was calling from "Canadian tax department" and it was about my taxes. Suspecting some kind of scam, I hung up. He called back and in a very angry and rude tone blasted me for "hanging up the phone on me".

I firmly believe this guy is a crook and deserves some ornaments from ourlaw enfrecement agencies.

Has called twice in 2 days saying that they are receiving reports from my computer that I have been downloading many viruses.  He said that he represents Windows.  I laughed and hung up the first time.  Second time I wasn't quite as nice.  It was a heavily accented male voice with background noise of a call center.

Continues to call with heavy accent and reading from a script.  Keeps informing me that they have a Windows report that my computer is downloading viruses.  I hang up before they have an opportunity to questioning my login information ... but I'm sure that's what they're after!  Ugly!

No message just keep calling and when I call back it says it is disconnected.

Just received a call from Dandy Mini Mart (caller ID) with a person with a strong Indian accent.  Said that he worked for Microsoft and my computer IP (192.168.1.116) had reported several virus hits and would crash my computer.  He directed me to a website (teamviewer) and asked me to download. At this point I asked if I could call him back.  I did not after googling the MINI MART number.

calls and answers then hangs up. VERY ANNOYING.  I tried calling it back - says its disconnected. The phone companies need to take responsibility for this, after all the money we pay to them every month its the least they can do. Invent something that allows us to block any number coming in that says Unknown Name.

Received from Indian man with thick accent and other voices (like a call centre) in background.  Very difficult to understand and hear him.  Played along--tried to figure it out--knew something was up when he told me he needed to help me with my Windows program (I use a MAC).  He gave me a code 888DCA60 and asked me to turn on my computer and press START.  I laughed and told him I couldn't do that as I have a MAC and he fumbled a bit---then said he could still help me as he knew that I wasn't a technician and wouldn't know how to fix the problem!!!   I couldn't string him on any longer and laughed ..... he then hung up on me.  Unbelievable!  Sure hope he doesn't convince anyone into this SCAM.

This deep indian accent just called me asking me by my last name.  He said that i had a problem with my computer saying he was working for Microsoft.  When he said "mam i can give to you my employee number" i said ok and i'll check on google your informations... he hang up on me! hahaha

I just received a call from this number and the individual had a heavy Indian accent and said he was with the federal government and I was picked to receive some money.  He was about to explain to me why and how I was picked to receive this money.  But, I knew it must be a scam, so I just told him, "no thanks", and hung up.  I went to the Internet to check if others has had this same experience.  Similar but not the same, but is definately a scam!!

East Indian man call with this same number. He said he was from micro soft and demand i go to my computer because he has been receiving problems with my files. I told him i did'nt believe him, he raised his voice and demanded i go to my computer and he'll prove to me there is something wrong. I started to laugh! I told him i don't even have a computer!  He said, " you mother f****r why are you wasting my time you mother f****r!!!  He was pissed!  Then he hung up!
