This likely is yet another of the fake payday loan collectors calling from overseas. This scam has gone on for years and has grown in popularity with Indian and Pakistani criminal boiler rooms. Just as in American debt collection agencies, reps are trained to regard everyone they call as a liar and deserving punishment. Their often absurd threats are empty and their rude tactics are illegal under federal law, the FDCPA. Do not believe their lies, do not argue with them, do not comply with their extortionist demands. Show them you know you have rights they are trampling.

Debt is a civil and not a criminal matter. No matter what you are told, no one is coming to arrest you, and you will not be jailed. There is no valid debt claim and no court order to seize your assets. You need not pay a red cent in ''settlement'' to make their inflicted pain go away. (Really, if they were that sure of your liability, wouldn't they simply hire a lawyer near you to sue for the full amount plus interest?) You will note these often barely intelligible bullies have a laughably poor understanding of American legal procedure. Their hope is that you are just as ignorant.

Try demanding a mailing address and a full business name. If the caller fudges his answer and you cannot verify it, it's likely a PDL sham. Challenge their horse puckey threats; they often make rude remarks and hang up. As the bullies like to hassle people at workplaces, advise your employers and coworkers these calls are garbage and not within your personal control.

The usual response to such a runaway debt collector stateside is to send a cease-comm letter and file suit. If you find a valid US address, please do so. Fierce consumer lawyers will leap at the chance to run such a case on contingency. However, being mostly outside U.S. borders and having no discernable addresses, these particular criminals rarely make it possible for individuals to punish them.

Just go to your telephone company web site and BLOCK the offending number, so it will not be able to come thru.
But that's nothing permanent, because those Caller ID spoofers use a number for one day or so, then start to use some other number. The numbers they use are abandoned numbers, not yet reassigned by the telephone companies.

I don't care what your boss tells you. You are not calling debtors, or liars, or anyone "deserving" of your illegal punishment. i just got a call from these people; they called my cell phone 3 times within the past hour.  NOW they just called my job number.  i know these guys are scammers!  can someone please tell me how to go about reporting these people to the authorities???


FYI, this time the guy said his name was MACK WHITE; heavy foreign accent.  wished me "good luck" and said if i don't call back right away, i would be in big legal trouble.

This company called me and scared the hell out of me. on the message they left they told me to have either me or my attorney call so after about the 6th call, I called them back and it just sounded unprofessional. I was transfered to "their" lawyer and I asked him to mail me all of this so call fraud info. he said he could not. I told him my lawyer was on the other line and ready to talk (which he was not really) he hung the hell up so fast. I haven't received a call since. Later I did talk to my  attorney and he did conferm that this company is a scam. Please don't send them any money. Oh yeah they did tell me at approx. 2:15pm cst that I had to be at a NY court house at 9:00 am TOMORROW! WHAT?

I got multiple calls from this number on my cell and work phone.  The were so rude and claimed that I owed a large sum of money to someone, but weren't able to tell me who.  I reported it with the FCC, the FTC, and my state attorney general.  These jerks have got to be stopped!  I told them I was hanging up to contact my local authorities and they hung up and haven't called back.

one of my colleagues received a call from this idiot posturing about legal cases pending against my colleague.  How can we get this stopped and the idiot arrested?

I got a call from 607-595-1651 saying that I was involved in a lawsuit for a payday loan company that I didn't pay back. The man had an indian accent and said his name was Mack White. They wanted all my bank info and my birthday. They already had my FULL ssn and wanted me to send them $500 to resolve the matter out of court or I would have to pay $5000 if it went to court. I called my loan company and they said it was a scam and to call to police because of the ssn. Don't give these people any information!!

I received a call from this number this morning.  Indian accent saying he was with something along the lines of the agency for law & enforcement.  Sadly enough, I received the same type of call in January and freaked out to the tune of $400 before I realized I had been scammed.  They try to make you think that someone is on their way to arrest you.  I filed a report with the FTC, but never even got a response.  It just seems wrong to me that there is nothing that can be done to prevent this type of harassment.

I have received many calls from this number...after looking up the number and reading what was posted, I decided to turn the tables on them.  Up until a few minutes ago I have not answered any of their calls, I answered this first to last call with an I don't care attitude.  They asked for me by name I said yes, but when it came to the SS# I only asked what company this was he told me he was with a Loan Investigation Company.  I asked for the name again because there was no such company and he was a scam artist.  He stated he was not a scam artist but with a law firm in New York.  I asked for the name of the lawyer, he told be Griffin Bell.  (Which I googled while on the phone, to find out that Mr. Bell past away in 2009).  I told him that Mr. Bell was deceased and he hung up on me.

He called back 2 minutes later, stating he was going to file a lawsuit against me for calling him a scam artist along with the other legal issues I have.  I asked again about Mr. Bell and he transferred me to his supervisor.  We tried to confirm my SS#, which I proceed to ask what that has to do with the price of tea in china.  He then proceeded to hang up on me, while writing this they called again but I did not answer (I am at work, early no one around, now to many to hear).

Who are these people, They calim they are the UNITED NATIONS LEGAL DEPT, They are calling threatning me about some money I have no clue about. Transeferring me to the same person.

i also got theatening call from this number the same mode was used, i owed for them 5-8000 dollars
and if i do not pay i will be arrested, i was also theaten with my ss# and name a lawsuit would be filed, i already know so i change my phone number, i am also getting theatening calls on my job, i had told them to send me proof of what so call i owed, they said if i want to settled it will be 900.00 if not to give them my attorney information.

I received 3 calls from this number today with a message from a man with a heavy Asian/Indian accent telling me I was in serious legal trouble.  I need to call him back with my lawyer so he can "help me out of this legal mess."   He also tried to tell me the incorrect last four digits of my Social Security Number.  I hate scammers!!  BEWARE!

These loser keep calling my fiancee making threatening calls. They say if he doesn't pay the 800.00 that they will have him arrested. They have also called his work and left messages on his bosses phone which in NC is illegal (which is probably what these people are). In speaking with the police they have told us that you CAN'T be arrested for bad debt. This is not bad debt on my fiancee's part but scammers trying to get money. If they call you the name the loser used was Edmond Randolph he says he is from the United Nations Legal Services. If you look them up on line they are scammers. Report this activity to your local authorities.

So I just received a call stating if I dont pay 900$ today they r pressing charges n that cops will be at my residence in 48hrs to arrest me. Since this man said he was a lawyer I asked for his bar number to research seeing as my moms a paralegal I would have her n her attorney check this out. This man freaked out on me n said any options I had to pay them were gone and he would now have me arrested. Thank god my mom found out these people are scammers... not that I would've paid them anyways... ppl beware!

I got this number along with 6509932343 from a company called Nations Legal Department and they said that they are pressing charges against me for money I received which I did not receive.  They also said that I have to pay over $5000 for legal fees or I can resolve this matter and pay $870 in an hour.  I called the police and made a report.

These people are relentless. Dirty, fowl, disgusting people. They call our business line 20-30 times a day asking for the same person that does not exist here. These people are a disgrace...Im amazed at the language..and lack of the English language...that they speak to us. We are all women here and they have said some pretty vulgar things..please help us stop these calls.

This guy keeps calling me and saying I have a legal case against me.  Well I saved his messages and I'm going to have a lawyer listen to it, because I work at a law firm.  In the meantime, could you please get this guy to leave me alone.
