Received a text from this number stating my credit card had been deactivated. Instructed to call the number. Today on the radio they were talking about this being a scam.

That was almost the exact message I got except the number texting was 607-372-7764.

Received 2 calls from this number on my cell, just minutes apart. Said that my card starting with 4479 had been DEACTIVATED and to call them....no way!

My mother, sister, and myself all got the same text from (607)-761-7307 saying verbatim: "BCT FCU Alert Your CARD starting 4479 with has been DEACTIVATED. Please contact us at 607-761-7307." I also know of several others that have received this text also. I hope that they catch whom ever is doing ...

Same text message a few minutes ago, bct-fcu, card beginning with 4479 deactivated, blah blah blah. It is a phishing scam where they want you to call and give them your personal info. Hope they catch the SOB's!

Just got this on our cell phone while in FL == checked google and found these reports -- we both mistakenly figured it was from Visions Federal Credit Union back home, but knew we had no such card with those numbers.

Husband and I have both received these calls on our separate cell phones...and NO ONE but our immediate family has our cell numbers. We have contacted the police in Bath NY as that is where we were told the number 6077617307 is calling from. We are waiting for the police to contact us when they can, there is bad weather up north of us...

The phone identified the actual calling number as 607-759-4289.

Vestal police are warning residents of a possible scam after receiving a complaint Wednesday, Sgt. Christopher Streno said.
The scam involves people receiving text messages allegedly from a bank, or credit union, ?fishing? for personal information, Streno said. The text message alleges some credit card information has been compromised, and asks a person to call a telephone number, he said.
?We?re reminding people not to fall for it,? Streno said.
Vestal police became aware of the scam after receiving a complaint call. Broome County dispatch also reported receiving several complaint calls about the same issue, Streno said.

I received 2 calls a few min apart. First call stated "BCT FCU Alert " card number starting with 4479 has been deactivated. please contact us at 6077617307. The next call a few min later same accept the call was made from 6077615749 and to contact us at 6077617307. Some kind of scam I just don't know what it could be.
