They started again....
i work as a technical consultant for a IT company in Holland, so don't give me this s**t
I got the call a few days ago. Same bull that my computer is sendeng error messgaes and that some got in to my computer.
So he wanted to take over my computer and fix it. I had to go to a web site so he can take controll of my computer.
It was a strange web address, so i asked the guy can we use a secure remote control program. No this is the best and it is secure it was developed bij Windows???. I know thtat all of the big IT companies use WebEx from cisco to do remote control, we also use it. So i told him that i wanted to use WebEx, and mentioned that i was working in the IT. One 4 letter word started with an F was his last response before he hang up

Telemarketer
call received at 9:53 p.m. - did not indicate WHO was calling on caller ID but from the area code I just knew it was a telemarketer.  I was not wrong - they managed to get out that I have a problem with my pc Windows program - I hung up.  This is the 3rd such call received in the past two days and the 6th since last Friday evening.

Asked him for his website, after 2 mins he dug one up. I advised him to stop being a thief and try and live an honest life. It is not too late to change and live an honest life. He said he was from California, but the number is from NY. In the end he hung up, no way was I going to put the phone down. It was way too entertaining.

I got a call from this # this morning. Caller ID said NY. It was the same old thing - some guy with a thick accent calling about a problem with my computer. He was talking non-stop so I yelled at him that it wasn't even even 7AM yet and he was already calling me with a scam and for him to get off the phone and never call here again. How can we shut these scammers down?

Prank Call
They called me from 1-607-767-0057. Said it was from Microsoft and my computer had malicious software that need to be clean up. I told them it was impossible and that Microsoft would never call me (my computers are MacOS).
He was very rude when I called on his bull*. I wish I could call the police on them. Is that possible ?

Called about my computer last night.  I knew he couldn't have any real information about whether or not I download a virus.  I don't own a PC.  He was hard to understand, didn't introduce himself or the company he is working for.  He didn't ask for anyone and just started talking.  My 11 year old could have answered and I'm sure he wouldn't have stopped.  The call lasted all of 1 minute as I politely told him no thanks and hung up.

Woman with a thick accent (India? Pakistan?) called at midnight.  That's right, midnight, probably morning in their f--kin third world country.  Said she was from Microsoft.  Told her that company would not hire a person whose English is barely intelligible and that was so obnoxious as to wake people up.  She then started calling me all sorts of not-so-nice words.  What a bunch of scammers.  They should stick to harboring terrorists (bin Laden ring any bells?) the only thing they are good at.  Oh yea, Indians like to gang rape children--read that in the paper.   Scum.

Woman with thick Indian accent called at 11 PM!!  I asked her if she knew what time it was?  She said yes, but it's an emergency with your computer being infected.  I told her I knew it was a scam.  She called me an obscenity, so I responded in kind, telling her EFF YOU.  She hung up.  These people should be droned.  Azzholes from third world countries should work on getting sewage treatment instead of crapping in the streets and calling here.

There are going to be older people hurt from these idiots because of them not knowing any better. DO NOT FALL FOR IT>

This is a New York City area code. But see that does not matter, you can gett an area code from anywhere in the world now days. Vonage, magicjack and other will give you a number to call locally from. There is no telling where these IDIOTS are calling from.

Funny... I got this call today and about a week ago Yahoo advised me that my account was hacked and that I needed to change my password, which I did.  It is worrisome!  I would like to know if there is a correlation to the two.

Get calls often from this number. They never answer. Is it someone checking to see if a person is home? When I called it to see no one answers.

Telemarketer
Call came at 11:57 p.m.  Couldn't understand the caller but mentioned something about my computer.  Indian accent.  Worries me because I had an email message from yahoo that my account was accessed from India and I had to change my password.  Emails were sent to each of my mail contacts so I am worried that this may be connected.  Anyone know if they had email hacked before this happened to them?

They called me, and asked the same thing about my windows.
When I then asked who are you looking for, they hung up.

I traced their number, and called them back,
I noticed they played a recording into the microphone that said "you number you reached is out of service"
I really dont know what those kids are up to, but its annoying

THIS IS A SCAM. Read about the your-PC-is-infected-corrupted scam here http://news.softpedia.com/news/Cold-Call-Tech ... on-150170.shtml They lie about your PC sending out malware, error messages, etc., and say your PC is about to crash to frighten you into giving them remote control of your PC to fix the nonexistent problem (don't let them!). If they ask you to open the systems tab in eventvwr.msc to see all the errors, these harmless errors are *normal* for any Windows PC (mine has several and it runs just fine). Don't let them take control of your PC because they can download *real* malware, possibly a malware suite, that can spam, steal bank logins and personal info, etc. If they've remoted into your PC, the safest fix is to re-format your drive and re-install your OS assuming you have clean backups of your data. You can try scanning with various antivirus software but scanning may not find all the malware. If you don't know how, get help from friends or pay a local shop to do it. THIS IS A SCAM.

Woman with a heavy accent called our company switchboard and asked to speak to "John".  The # on her caller ID was 626-445-9134.  Having over 500 employees, we have more than one "John" and I asked for John's last name.  She told me she didn't know.  I told her that I couldn't help her if she didn't know who she was trying to reach.  She didn't reply and then hung up.

About 2 minutes later, I received a call from 607-767-0057 and a different woman with the same type of accent as the other lady, asked to speak to a John but provided a last name this time.  That particular person hasn't worked here in years and I simply told her that we didn't have an employee by that name.  She then spelled his name out and I told her that we STILL don't have anyone here by that name.  She continued to ask until I finally said, "Ma'am, what part of "we don't have a John .... working for our company???"

I have no idea who either of the women were with or why they were calling and I really didn't care enough to ask.
