Just got a call from 607-795-4641, and my caller display "New York".  Since I don't know anyone from New York, so I didn't answer it.  No one leave any message, so I know it must be some kind of scam.

caller unknown - "US Medical Services". asked for supervisor, he disconnected immediately. also uses something like "you have downloaded bad virus-"we can fix for you".

D,ont answer if udo the next phone bill you will get might be about 600 or 800$ believe me and when you try and argue your point ,they tell you it was accepted from your end please becareful

The phone rang & I didn't answer it since I don't know anyone from New York. Now that I see it appears to be the Microsoft OS Scammer gang, I just might answer it next time & scream really loud in their ear! ::grin::

Got the same call.  He was rude.  I told him to remove me from the list.  He said I cannot do that mam, I got your number from the internet.  Then he said your computer is showing errors mam, don't you understand that?  So I hung up.

This number called my mobile the other day (in the Netherlands); I answered in Dutch - and they hung up.

However, I have had several calls on my landline with exactly the Indian "Microsoft" scam. Each time I enjoy throwing them questions they can't answer.

My favourite exchange:
Me: "How do I know you're from Microsoft?"
Caller: "You'll just have to trust me."

Other times they've hung up when I ask them why they're calling the Netherlands with an English-speaking team.

Called my phone and told me I was being sued and asked if I could hang on while he looked up my information. Yea....my bank account got hacked for $1000....

Received a call from this number from a woman with an extremely thick ?Indian? accent claiming to be calling from "Optimus Help Desk."
She claimed that my Windows computer was throwing off messages that it had configuration or virus problems and needed to be fixed. She claimed that my computer had a license with Optimus.
I was instantly suspicious since I have no business relationship with any company by that name, and demanded that she tell me WHICH computer was throwing off the messages.
She said that it was the Windows computer, which means she is a scammer, since virtually everyone has a Windows computer I have SIX all running different configurations of Windows, and she didn't even identify an operating system.
I don't know how she got my phone number of last name, but this is some kind of SCAM.

Got a call from 607-795-4641 and they claimed I had a virus on my computer.  I asked how do you know are you monitoring my computer? He replied could you turn the computer on, I informed him i was a federal employee and if this is illegal I would be prosecuting his a** and that my number is a federal line.  He tried to keep going with the b***s*** and I hung up.

This person called me asking if I'd lost my dog. I just put up flier in two location just 8 hrs ago in my small town of about 300 people. I could not understand him either. He called back twice. I finally hung up

A rather pushy individual called who insisted I had downloaded inappropriate material and he was calling so that they could "fix" the problem.  When I asked him exactly how/why he simply repeated his canned mantra twice more.  I did not allow it to get past his asking for personal info.

I posted my cat missing on craigslist and 5 min later i received a call just like the one posted on here. They claimed to find my car for a $110 fee, judging by his voice (sounded indian, not to be racist) he was weird when i asked him questions. I live in California and im getting a call from a New York number. Defiantly is a scam

We posted our missing cat on facebook and about a week later got a phone call from (607) 795-4641 they tried to get me to pay for a crew of 200 concerned animal lovers to help search for him I simply said no thanks and hung up I think while we were on the phone they realized we are an apple family. Anything you post on facebook will become public information.

Similar experience to others (man with an accent, quite possibly Indian; reporting that he's from MicroSoft -- yeah, right! -- and that my computer has a virus, etc. etc.).

I challenged him on how he knew this information and of course, wasn't persuaded by his response (something about the ISP # when I registered my computer with them).

I told him that I didn't believe him, that I was noting the number and would be reporting this scam to authorities.

(There was silence on the other end of the line, probably complete puzzlement because that wasn't "in the script" he was given.)

I waited and he couldn't think of anything else to add so I repeated my threat of contacting authorities. Another few seconds of silence and then I hung up.

I'm getting calls off this number and I don't even OWN a PC, I don't answer numbers I dot no anyway.

I just got a cal from 607-795-4641 and same thing, they said they were from Microsoft and noticed some abnormal activity on my Windows computer. I told them that Microsoft was not in the habit of calling citizens and hung up on them. They called back from a private number and again said they were a Certified Microsoft Engineer and they were calling to fix my computer? I told them I didn't believe them and that I worked in the IT field so didn't need their help to fix my computer and that they were a fraud and they hung up on me. They were quite aggressive on the phone. Definitely do no give them any information.

Got a phone call stating He is from Microsoft  Windows and the system is sending messages to their servers, suspicious on the call asked they callback number and was provided (201) 285-5344. When our systems guy called the number, no answer and later got a call back from 6077954641 and he is abusive and threatening to sue or report to FBI, on asking who are you and which company he states Microsoft Windows and so on crap...i just dsconnected the call.

Pass this on to everyone because it would not be legit.

I just got a phone call also from a man stating that he was from Microsoft and asked me if I had windows on my computer.  I stated I did and he said that I had too many microsoft errors  aha bells rang.  Microsoft will not call about errors on a computer and duh how would they get my home phone number.  I told him gee I dont have a computer he said you told me you have windows on your computer. I said no I dont. He then said are you lying now or were you lying before.  I said could have been either time just like you are lying now and hung up.  Pass this on to everyone because it would not be legit.

I got a call tonight on 4 different numbers. I am reporting on each one. The last time they called it was Caller Unknown . They say they are from Microsoft and I have a virus. The first time I told him to call back because I could not find my portable phone so I could not look at the computer. Then  I came here and checked the number. He called back on a different number and I hung up on him. As I said above he has called back on 4 numbers.
I am in Canada.
