I got this text too, I was really confused because I do have a mastercard. i decided to google the number and came to this blog. I also know some one at the bank where I have my account so I figured I would ask her and she told me that they don't send text messages, which of course makes sense. Glad I found the blog tho!

I knew this was a scam so I tried to calling to mess with them and the number is now disconnected.

Both my husband and I got these text messages, but did not reply.  I called and it asked for a card number, but just hung up.

just contact ur financial insitution's risk management dept and they will take care of reporting these calls/messages to the proper authorities. DON'T GIVE ANY INFORMATION!!!

I got the same message.  It seemed fishy, so I didn't call and saw all the other posts here.

Just got a text from "1234"
"Card Services CU Alert: Your CARD has been DEACTIVATED. Please contact us at 608-237-6959 to REACTIVATE your CARD."
Called the number and got a shady recording, then checked the number in google.  Total scam.

I got the text message too and I work for a credit union. NEVER will someone from the credit union contact you and ask you for your card number. Never give this information out!

my parnter and i both received a text from an unknown sender telling us to call 608-237-6959.

got one too called local radio and tv station

Just got the exact same message, don't have a Mastercard.

got the same call from 608-237-6959. calling themsaelves the credit union center. don't have a mc or belong to a c u. are they fishing for cc numbers?

Just received the same text message: (Card Services CU Alert: Your CARD has been DEACTIVATED. Please contact us at 608-237-6959 to REACTIVATE your MASTERCARD." My husband and I both received it at almost the same time - 3:01pm on my phone - 3:02pm on his - our only Mastercard account is fine.

Got the same thing, also called, and figured it was a spam.  I am guessing they are fishing for info to steal credit info.  not falling for it.  Also was hoping to get a voice, not a computer.

We just go it too. Knew it wwas scam.  Called anyway in hopes a voice would answer so we could attempt some social engineering but it's all computer menu driven

i alerted 27 news about this just so everyone can know not to call it! or input information.. i think they are targeting people in the wisconsin area with credit unions. maybe its that stupid hacker up to no good!

I agree that this sounds like a scam.  

My debit card *IS* deactivated, however - as of about an hour ago.  Of course, the bank is closed.  I sent them a message via their online interface to inquire.

I got the same message and just reported this to the FBI. I'll post more if I get a response.

oh goodness, i got this too. how did they get a hold of my cell phone number? i guess a lot of other people got this too. it sounded sketchy anyway..
Is there anyone we can report this to?

I'm calling Vonage right now to report the scam use of the phone number.

Both my husband and I got this text message at the same time.  Thought it might be the UWCU, but thanks to this blog, we did not call.
