I recived a email that told me that I have won a $1,000.00 Best Buy Gift Card. Just like the othe five or six hundred other emails that said the samething.Only this one took me to a report it web-site, insted of asking me a million questions and not sending the gift card. So this one is just power for the course with me, I never recice anything FREE as stated.

I think I've had at least 3 of these text messages, I just deleted the earlier ones but when I got another one this afternoon I decided to google the number and found this thread.
ATTN: Rewards Zone Member, you have won a $1000 Best Buy Gift Card! Goto http://bestbuybfpromo.com/2/?31 and enter code 8228 to claim! Nov, 26, 1:10PM, I am not a Best Buy Rewards Zone Member.

It would be really helpful if all of you mentioned whether or not you are actually reward zone members. I am, and I received this same text message. Also, I did give best buy my cell number to be linked with my reward zone account. If all of you are BB reward zone members, then that means that either 1) Best Buy sold our private numbers to a 3rd party, or 2) Our personal info on their servers was stolen/hacked. If some of you aren't reward zone members, or don't have any accounts with Best Buy at all, then that means that these texts are totally random and are being sent to a group of random people that may or may not have an association with Best Buy. My SMS text came from: 608-381-4816.
I urge all of you to call the Best Buy Reward Zone department and give those guys hell for not doing something about this -- their number is 866-797-7367. The fake promo site is using their logo, and even claims to be a secure site, which it is definitely not.

I looked in the internet for a friend who received the same message with one # difference in the last 3 digits. Thank you so very much for posting as you did. Like everyone else, why can they not stop? Telemarketers drive me crazy, expecially across the waters of the earth! Thanks, again. Forget the holidays - Merry CHRISTmas and dowloads to the belly on Thanksgiving Day!

Received a SPAM text message from 608-381-4816 telling me that I won a free $1000 Best Buy Gift Card!. Yeah, right. It is spam, as I never had contact with this organization. Be wary of any offer from this phone number. Do not give them any information, including your e-mail address. If you go as far as looking up the website, be certain you delete any cookies from bestbuyrwzone (or related). Just be careful not to delete a true Best Buy cookie, if you are an actual Best Buy club member. BUT, this spammer is not related in any way to Best Buys

sam 2012-11-13 16:44:58 Unknown
I think the reward code is the last 4 digits of a credit or debit card.
sam 2012-11-13 16:41:29 Unknown
Check & see if the "reward code" matches the last 4 digits of any of your credit cards.

Security company Cloudmark created a spam messaging reporting service that nation?s major wireless carriers agreed earlier this year to start using. Now, customers of AT&T Mobility, Verizon Wireless, T-Mobile, Sprint and others can forward their text spam message to 7726. The mobile phone carrier will ask customers for the phone number that?s linked to the spam message so they and Cloudmark can start investigating.

I got 2 text messages today saying I won $1000 Best Buy Card
james 2012-11-07 13:44:45 Unknown
It is a scam. Why would you have to buy a product in order to claim the $1000 gift card. This is a well known scam through out our Country. Often sent from people in a different Country in order to gain your personal information or money. If you won a $1000 gift card from BestBuy you would have to come in one of their stores with I D to claim your gift card. Don't be naive. Think-Investigate-Call-Ask Questions Call the store which you have been offered a gift or prize.

Thanks Morty. I received the same text last night. Sounded way too good to be true. I thought it might be from my cell carrier because they have a rewards program. Couldn't find anything on their site, so I googled the number and this thread came up. Thanks for posting Best Buy confirmed it is a scam.

It must be a scam. The domain name is registered to someone in Panama and the server is in France.
