I received a personally addressed message to my Google Voice SMS.
Very deceptive tactic. In fact, I thought it might be a client or prospect, so I was Googling the number to see who it was when I found this.

I got the same kind of text messages from a 214 area code number. Lucky for me it hit my rarely used Google Voice number. I don't think it was from Facebook because that number is not listed on my account.

i just got a text message from this phone number ! saying hi erica and asking if i had a yahoo chat and the there yahoo chat was flitter something and saying there phone was almost dead and evertyhing

They texted "Hola Ted.." I responded with a "who is this". No reply. Have no idea who it could be and I don't know anyone from Wisconson. It looks like other people are getting messages from this person too.

The SPAMMERS are getting better.
Same as "Joe" I received a text message from 6084671637. With a message, calling me by my name "Joseph". So I assumed it would be someone I knew, but before I was even able to respond to the "Hello" message, I get a second text, ""Hah if you wanna know who this is you got to addd me on Y! msger. my name is txtiegirl15".
I immediately informed abuse@yahoo.com about the username.

I got a text message from this number, they know my name and when I asked them who they are they told my to add them on yahoo messenger as "txtiechick2" I live in California and that is a Wisconsin area code, does anybody have any idea who this is?
