Primerica is a spin-off of Citi. Citi got the profits from the sale of Primerica's primary shares, and Citi maintains 1/3 to 1/2 stake in Primerica. Primerica predominantly sells Citi financial services/products.
It's debatable whether the products you sell are helping anyone. Many of the financial services sold by Primerica are described as largely worthless. If people feel confident selling the services to their friends/families from a company that claims you need no background in financial services to do it, more power to them. But as I said, they have a right to a fair perspective going in. Primerica reps earn an average $5,100 a year. So if that sounds appealing, go for it. But know what Primerica's version of "living the dream" and "being your own boss" actually means.

Citigroup is no longer controlling Primerica. Im glad the insurance is offered to friends and family because it is the only company that will do the best for a family under any circumstance. If your not interested in helping the people you care about than who do you want to help?

Yes, they are a publicly traded company. I notice that the people promoting the company on various web sites are careful to note that Primerica isn't technically breaking the law. That's because the company knows exactly where that line is, and how not to cross it.
If anyone wants to give the company a try, fine. But they have a right to know beforehand that it's really a marketing effort for Citigroup financial products. They have a right to know that they'll be urged to sell insurance to their friends and families, and that they'll be urged to recruit more sales reps. They also have a right to know that it's what you're doing right now.

If you know what a pyramyd scheme is, they are illegal. Primerica is a publically traded company and works with churches, police departments and many other law enforcement agencies. The company is more legit than a bunch of people sitting around in their underware writing a blog about something in which they have no understanding at all. The people who complain are the people who couldnt make it work. It is a reliable way to build for your future goals. Primerica is not looking for investors, top investors are lining up at their door trying to buy shares of Primerica.

They are telemarketing for Citigroup, and trying to get other people to telemarket for citigroup. If you're getting calls from them, get on their Do Not Call list, if you can.

"Jeff," I think you're scamming for Primerica. Their website claims you can own your own financial services business without any background in financial services. If you follow through with them, you will find yourself involved in a pyramid scheme. There are numerous websites where people complain about these calls, and every one of them has somebody posting about how the company is legit. It isn't. Those people are trolling for Primerica investors.

I had recieved a call from Adam also. The company name is Primerica, a now publically traded company (under PRI) that was established in 1977. Could be a very good opportunity or the right person to build their own business. My name was referred by a friend of mine that thought i would have an interest in this company.

I received this call on my land line. Said his name was Adam Schroeder, his company was expanding and he got my name passed on to him. Call him back, he would be in the office today until 4pm, and tomorrow from 1-4pm. He left his number. I am not currently looking for a job and I work in the Education dept of the University. I deleted the message.

Message on our land line. Same as others - expanding his business, my name passed on to him (didn't say who passed name on), call during specific times. I'm a public accountant and often get calls but not for an interview!
anon 2010-02-20 02:47:15 Unknown
Same message here - Adam Schroeder, my name passed along to him, he'd be in the office until 4 today or 1-4 tomorrow. I'm an archaeologist, so I'm not exactly a target for headhunters.

I received the same message at 11:38 AM on 2-18-2010 on my landline. Said his name was Adam Schroeder. Stated that my name was passed along to him and that he was currently interviewing due to the expansion of his company. Said he was very interested in speaking to me and that he would be available until 4Pm today or tomorrow between 1:30 and 4:30 Pm. Left his number. I also work in engineering. Maybe some kind of connection, but who knows.
dlmmadison 2010-02-18 23:15:52 Unknown
Got the same voicemail on my home landline on 02/18. Expanding his business, my name was passed along to him, etc. Left specific call back times. Deleted voicemail, didn't call back. Sounds like a sham.
ttoro 2010-02-18 02:05:17 Unknown
I got the same call. I did call back and get a voice mail. Left a message. I get calls from head hunters all the time. I wonder what line of work you all are in. Engineering perhaps? I don't think there is any danger in receiving or calling back. If somebody answer, please don't be foolish and give any personal information. If the call is legitimate the caller will not have any problem in giving you their information for you to crosscheck.
brenda 2010-02-10 22:53:35 Unknown
