Called and left no message - apparently the do not call list is not enforced.

Don't get our undies in a bunch about this one.   Charities, even fake ones, are exempt from "Do Not Call" laws.  Just get a call blocking device if you have a land line.

They called asking for donations to help diagnose breast cancer.  I told them I was sorry not to be able to contribute, but that I would volunteer to do examinations and check patients for lumps.  All they had to do was send them over to my home.  They hung up.

Received a call on June 13, 2014, from 608-807-5992 asking for a donation to the Breast Cancer Society.  Did not give my credit card number over the phone, although they (Amanda and Eric) said the credit card would speed up needed help to those sick with this cancer.

A woman called from the "The Breast Cancer Society".  The number is listed as a VOiP number out of Madison, Wisconsin.  Further investigation found more questionable activity.

Received yet another phone call from this number this morning. I have been ignoring these calls, but that doesn't seem to be working. I answered and the caller asked for the lady of the house. When I replied that she was not available at this time, the person said "no message" and promptly hung up on me. I tried to call this number and all I got was a voicemail.
I Googled "Breast Cancer Society" and found this number: 888-470-7909. I then called that number and spoke with a very nice lady named Peggy. I asked if they had any affiliates in the Madison area and she said that they do have call centers in that area.I explained that I have received "harassing" phone calls up to 8 times a day from a place that claims to be the Breast Cancer Society. She apologized and promised to remove my number from their calling list (but stated it could take 24-48 hours).
Try this and see if it works! Ignoring these people doesn't seem to be working anymore, call them back and demand to be removed from their calling list!

Received call 3/22/14 @ 2:16 p.m. in the Metro Milwaukee area, Wisconsin. I did not pick-up the phone and am on the DO NOT CALL LIST.  I wish they would get a FINE for each of these written complaints.  Caller ID stated "Breast Cancer Society" which I THOUGHT was my friend calling from her job or something............so deceiving, these crooks.  Hope they get what they deserve.

This number is CURRENTLY being used by apparent breast cancer scammers. Legitimate charities will leave a message--these callers did not---always the sign of a potential scam---BEWARE---give NO credit card information to these callers!!

Call from "Breast Cancer" trying to get me to commit to sending in money if they mail an envelope. It was actually a "professional fundraising" company representing a breast cancer organization. I explained that I don't commit to or donate anything via unsolicited phone calls, and that I give locally and/or research and give online to organizations I know and trust. She got snippy with me and told me "not to draw the line there." As I was asking her to take my name off the list, she hung up on me. I wish that well-meaning charities would understand what these "professional" callers do to their organizational reputations.

Got a call from 608-807-5992 and caller id said Breast Cancer S.  I did not pick up.  I usually just scream as loud as I can in their ear.  Not very nice but very effective.  I got the idea on another one of these scam phone call sites.

I made the mistake of answering another number while working outside. I asked them to hold and put the phone inside the horn of my car and blasted. This intelligent guy was still there after that and was asking if I was still there.
I wonder if this thought would work. Considering that ATT, and Wis. consumer protection said they could not do anything even with the "don't call list" how about forwarding these calls to ATT and/or consumer protection? Bet calls would stop on the second call. Please comment.

Phoney Breast Cancer Society charity scam., Blocked with Ooma.

got a phone call and the caller asked for me by my first name.  Then didn't say anything. Here's the thing. They can call any time they want with no penalty.  I have a friend with the FBI and when I asked he said it isn't a crime.  So there isn't anything we can do.  I block the numbers and my list is up to 18 now.

I called the Madison Wisconsin Office of Community Services.  The "Breast Cancer Society" has no office in Wisconsin; they do in Michigan.  This place called "Associated Community Services" is a telemarketer of sorts who is contracted to obtain donations on behalf of *many charitable organizations.

As the rep from the Office of Community Services said, "This sounds more than a little shady.  I wouldn't trust them.  If you're going to donate, give directly to the charity."

If you hit 0 on their voice mail system (zero), you immediately get a message that says "You have reached Associated Community Services.  All operators are busy.  Please call back later."  Startng to look more and more like misrepresentation.

Further follow-up indicates no affiliation with the American Cancer Society

Caller ID claims "Breast Cancer S" (assuming Society).  Left no message.  First time getting this type of call, but knowing that makes it immediately suspicious.

Upon call back to the number, it has a voice system that claims it is the Breast Cancer Society and gives no immediate ability to speak with a human.  When checking the web, I can only find "American Cancer Society", but not "Breast Cancer Society" in Madison, Wisconsin.

I just received a call from Breast Cancer S...don't know what the rest is....but this is low using that to call and pray upon people!

Called today asking for my wife by name.  When I said, may I ask who this is, she hung up on me.  I got a call last week and was in the mood to answer questions on a poll.  It was sprinkled with personal questions about age, address, how much I make, house number, street name, ect.  I answered all of those false.  It was odd.

Lady said she is looking for a small donation to help women fighting breast cancer....she was very pushy then she hung up on me.

A female called, I remained quiet for thirty seconds before the caller said anything. She asked for "robert" I asked you are a "breast cancer" group. Then she was so nice saying she would gladly speak with me., "Really", I replied. She started the whole spiel asking if I would help women who are dealing with cancer. I asked what hospital or Gilda's room they were asscociated with? Then the table turned, "oh. I'm new, hang on while I get my supervisor and while you are still with me would you please donate $20 to the community?" I told her repeatedly to send me the info back and forth we went, and she was escalating her voulme at me and I was in no f*(%ing mood to listen to her BS or to hear her drivel, and I must of pissed her off that she HUNG UP on me!  I have been told that a solicitor cannt be the one to hang up on you, by doing so they are committing an act of harrassment.

Received same call from Breast Cancer Soc.  Didn't pick up.  I give my money to local known Breast Cancer support groups not unknown telemarketers.

I live in Peshtigo WI and have now received two calls from that number. Each time asking for the previous person with my phone number and when I tell her it's no longer his number, she starts with "Oh I have the right number, just the wrong name" and then tries to get info from me as I am telling her I am not falling for her scam. Then a hang up.

Our house phone has had many phone attempts (morning, noon and night) from this number. I finally answered it and the caller "clicked on" identifying herself as Amanda with Breast Cancer Research" and asking for the lady of the house. After explaining she wasn't available she said, "oh I can talk to either one of you". I explained we were on the do not call list and had an unpublished phone number. She then began to get very  "pushy" at which time I got hotter under the collar and told her in no uncertain terms to remove us from their list. I am so tired of all these bogus phone calls on landline and cell phones I could strangle someone. What does it take to get these "d****eads" to leave us alone.

My caller ID said "Breast Cancer S" and 608-807-5992. There was no message left. I suspect this was a scam.

I got a call this morning claiming to be from Breast Cancer Society. I played along as I figured it was a scam. They tell you they will mail a donation form, then they suggest you use a credit or debit card over the phone and save the mailing cost. Um, no not going to give them my CC number. Idiots.

Received a call from this number around 845 am. Way too early for this. Did not answer the phone and no message was left. Caller ID reads "Breast Cancer S"

Received a call today that came across as Breast cancer.  Told them I was unlisted and on the no call list and do not ever call back.

I didn't answer when this call came. It showed up with "Breast Cancer" on Caller ID.
