MATHEW WARD, makes a deal for 1,000 on old collection accounts.  After reading these posts - he certainly does not seem legit.   He wants your bank account & routing number !

Matt Ward also called me from this number, broken contract with Bally Total Fitness from 5 years ago. Claimed at first that he was the IRS, then told me I could be sued. When I asked him his company and if it was a collection agency he said "our collections agency is upstairs" I hung up, he called me back immediatly and said "hanging up won't make us not sue you" HAH sure

Matt Ward claiming to be calling from the IRS called my husband asking to speak with me. He claimed; he was calling about "unreported Income" which set off alarms for me because the IRS does not typically call individuals; they send letters regarding taxation issues. My husband took a message and the number he give him was 609-200-0602 however he was calling from a 901-302-9797 according to the caller ID. This guy was calling about a debt from 2001 which I believe has been paid; however it is much too old and I don't have any documentation either way. Matt Ward appears to be representing DRS a debt collection company.

Received a call attempting fraud perpetrated by my mother who is 97. Caller knew my mom's address, mom's name etc. Said he did not care about this but needed to call the 609 number asking for Mathew Ward or her social security would be affected. I asked if this was a collection agency, and he would not answer only have her lawyer call the above number. I told him not to call me as I am not responsible for her debts and as a matter of fact neither is she!  This did scare me a bit, but seeing others have been contacted makes me feel better. I asked about what the specific debt was that she owed, he would not answer.

My husband got a call from this number the other day and they were asking for me (under an old name) for an account that was almost ten years old. The guy's name was Matt Ward and said that they were going to take me to court and that I needed to get a lawyer. The guy then said he knew we had a car and other assets and said I needed to call back immediately. He also claimed that the statute of limitations was no longer in effect as of 2009 (not true) so I could be sued for an old debt. My husband hung up. The same guy called back the next day threatening to sue again and to have my attorney call back. Very harrassing, deceptive, and threatening practices. (Also called from an 813-644-8778 number)

This so called lawyer called my phone asking for my husband when i said my husband is not here, he begin yelling at me saying i better have my husband call him back in an hour or else i would regret it. I asked who is this he refused to give his name he just said im an attorney and he is going to be sued unless he calls me back with in the next hour.

Guy called asking for my boyfriend by name in regards to an "issue" he was being pursued for in Greenville, South Carolina. My boyfriend has never even been there and he just said to have him or his power of attorney call him and that he couldn't tell me anything. When I asked him how he got my number he said it was what my boyfriend put on the application....then said I wasn't getting it, and said that he wished my boyfriend the best of luck and hung up on me. Obviously a scammer....beware!

It was a call to my cell from an fraud attorney.
