609-225-4558 left a two and a half minute voicemail on my work phone on dec 16. It was basically static with a hint of a conversation among several people in the background.

Registration on the US National Do Not Call Registry is permanant.  When the law passed it was for 5 years.  That law has been changed. Now registration is permanant.  Some telemarketers and all scammers chose to break the law and ignore the list.

Yes, there are alot of ways you can accidentally give someone permission to call you even if you are on the list.  Your creditors can call you.  Charities, even fake ones, can call you.  Politicians can call you. Polsters can call you.

PPS...For any and all...the National Do Not Call Registry has to be updated every year and there are a million ways that you are legally allowing yourself to be called.  Something as simple as applying for a Walgreen's card has fine print about allowing solicitation.  I know I don't agree with it either.

ione to three year block at a wholesale price.  They pass the savings onto your utility who in turn passes it on to you.  I enroll nothing but medium to large businesses and know for a fact that I save several people considerable amounts of money.  As in any sales job there are always representatives and entire companies with questionable practices.  I'm a broker that works with 36 of the licensed and approved suppliers and do the shopping for my customers.  I have several customers I have retained since when certain states were deregulated more than 10 years ago and have saved some of them in the amount of millions of dollars, so I'm just a little bit frustrated when somebody claims my job is a fraud.  Feel free to contact me with any questions if you are interested (855)330-3580 ext 209...Ray Taylor (People's Choice Energy)

P.S.  Seeing as this is my workplace if anybody is just calling to complain about a bad experience, I ask you not to call.  I guarantee anybody calling in without a supplier a savings of at least 20% and with a supplier at least 10% due to the fact that I most likely have a better relationship with that supplier from the amount of business I have brought them.

With all do respect Mike, you sound like an educated man, but you are incorrect in a few points you stated.  The utility companies in deregulated states are the ones that actually send out literature 4 times a year as required by the Public Utilities Commission.  It's just a 4x6" insert stating that we as a utility company are no longer able to "supply" your electricity only deliver it.  It also states you have the option of choosing from any one of these suppliers or we will do it for you.  Furthermore, when they do it for you, you are actually charged an additional fee for this "customer charge" on your bill.  The utility companies have to purchase your electricity already from one of these suppliers every month and do so on a "variable" rate...basically whatever the market has to offer.  Sometimes they can guarantee a generation rate for a few months and its known as your SOS or standard offer service.  Most suppliers offer 2 different options, a really appealing and low introductory rate, which after the 1, 2, or 3 month introductory period goes on to become a variable rate, which will fluctuate month to month.  You really are at the mercy of the supplier at that point; the better companies will keep you considerably lower than the utility rates, and obviously the worse suppliers won't.  There is no commitment or fees for terminating service for a variable rate(most of the time).  The other option is a "fixed" rate, which if it's a good rate is always in your best interest.  Instead of selling your electricity each month to the utility they look at your typical usage and purchase your electricity upfront in a

Scammers, they use phone rooms from Florida having convicts working for them and the companies do not have any lisences and or Bonds. The past is Bob Griess the owner does not pay them for the work done, so they reenroll them with other companies. Good job

Thank you for the info above.

I also got a call from 609-225-5278 - the guy asked to speak to the person responsible for paying the phone bill, and I asked him if he was from JCP&L and he pulled an attitude saying that as he stated at the start of the call he was from Public Power.  The attitude tipped me off and I basically hung up on him.

They use multi level marketing by AMA Nation.  PP&U (Public Power, LLC) just sells the same juice that your local company does and undercuts them.  We are on the do not call registry and neither AMA Nation or PP&U (Public Power, LLC) had permission to call.  Yet call they did, several times, always different people.  The reason why so many different people called, each one violating the do not call registry, is because they sign up mom and pop marketers who work from home and must provide them with a list.  The last call came from a number that also is used for a carpet cleaning company.  Call always begins the same way ?I am calling to discuss the literature we sent.?  Of course, they have sent no literature.  The call starts with a lie and a violation of the do not call registry.

PP&U (Public Power, LLC) does initially undercut your local utility with a 1 month teaser rate.  They employ high pressure tactics, because if you do research you will find that there are plenty of competitors who offer lower rates.  A quick visit to Constellation?s website undercut PP&U's 1 month teaser rate for a full year.  In deregulated states, the local utility usually lists a link to electricity suppliers on their website.  Local utilities in deregulated states are starting to get very competitive and their rates are dropping, I imagine that the era of electricity suppliers will be a short one.

PP&U (Public Power, LLC) doesn?t produce electricity, own power lines, maintain power lines or even keep track of usage or billing, the local utility still does all of these things.  Each month, the utility simply sends PP&U a percentage for every customer that they sign up.  To say that deregulation created an odd environment would be an understatement.  Imagine that they are instead selling gasoline.  PP&U buys gasoline at wholesale from Exxon.  The gas is in the tanks owned and maintained by Exxon, is hauled to stations by Exxon, pumped through Exxon?s pumps and payment is collected by Exxon.  Exxon then sends the difference between what you paid and what Public Power pays.

It is from Power Power LLC. They are an option under the Atlantic City Electric power choice.  There are inserts in your bills about it.  It actually is less on your electric bill, have been using them awhile.  Saved me $20 per month.

Just got a call from this number... a male asked to speak to me by name "or the person responsible for your Atlantic City Electric account."  I said it was me... Then he asked, How are you today?  I replied, Why are you calling?  And he promptly hung up.

In other words:  It's an unwarranted sales call.

Someone has been calling me from this number and not leaving an address. If it is a public power company, it could have something to do with the fact that NJ allows non-utilities to compete for your energy (gas and electric) account.

Also, it could just be a diversion strategy. We are on the do not call list and they shouldn't be calling us.

Received a call from this number a few minutes ago ... When I said "Hello", there was no answer ..,. then I heard "Good-bye."  I tried to return the call since I had absolutely no clue as to who the caller was and a voice came on "Thank you for calling Public Power" and it went on to "Press 1 for the next available operator, press 2 .. blah, blah, blah."  When I pressed 1 for an operator, there were no operators available.  Hmmmmmm .... I just did a little bit of research online and found that this number's provider is Paetec Communication, Inc - NJ ... in the General Location of Atlantic City, NJ ... Searching for a website for this company, this is what what found to be this company's service.

"PAETEC personalizes communications for business-class customers across the United States.

We offer a comprehensive suite of data, voice, and IP services, as well as enterprise communications management software, network security solutions, CPE, and managed services."

Check out www.paetec.com to get their story .... wondering why they identified themselves as "Public Power."
