You can sign up for nomorobo.com at no charge. Once you have done this, if a robocall comes through you can report the number on the website. They stop them

Got the Rachel call.  I pressed the number given to talk to someone.  I told him I want these effing calls stopped.  But, when I finished, the line was dead.  They just hang up.  It really sucks.

Called just now, didn't answer, ID reads card services.

Don't answer unidentified.  Will these dodos never take the hint?

I'm guessing someone or group has deep pockets.  Let's hope our non-response eventually breaks them!

Received a call from 609-318-9785 and 2 minutes later a all from 417-800-2309.  Both of them from Rachel at Card Services to lower interest rates.  She states this in the "final call."  I wish this was true, but she calls daily, now it is twice a day from different numbers. So far today I have had 10 unwanted telephone calls from telemarketers and it is not even noon.

If you want to stop these calls then you need to dry up their revenue source. Your phone company is charging you a fee for caller ID. Your phone company pays the scammer for sending the caller ID information. Your phone company pays only a fraction of a cent per call and you pay $5 to $15 to your phone company. The scammers send out millions of calls per day which amounts to a significant amount of money however your phone company is charging a large amount to millions of customers. This may have something to do with their inability to stop these calls.
In order to stop this we need legislation making it illegal to charge for caller ID. If a phone service wishes to operate it would need to provide the caller ID at no charge as part of the service. Here is the $50,000 solution that the FCC is looking for and it doesn't cost anything. Here is an excellent blog site that I found that explains how one company is getting away with this activity.

Hi, I so understand your fustration and anger, these particular individuals a
have been around for years, they just keep changing the phone numbers and work with multiple numbers at the same time. I block them through Verizon, it works for a while, but as soon as they change to new numbers have to block again, I am only allowed to block 10 numbers so it is a pain.

I wish there was a way to get these particular jerks, but believe it or not there are very naive people who fall for the scam so they stay in business. Theyare protected by same rights that you sacraficed to give us so it must really upset you that you put your life on the line for us, but these jack***es abuse these rights

I agree with you 100 % Since the No Call LIst are allowing business to call people  it brings in the scammers pretending to be business. The no call list are not doing anything to screen these calls so they let the calls go through. The No Call List website are deceptive. I believe this site should be taking down. Their rules are letting scammers through. Yes anything these scumbs can do to get around the no call list. I think the gorenment should crack down on the "National NO Call list" for allowing rules to be broken. Like I said they are letting these scumbs call us and annoy us to the point of throwing the phone out the windows. The telephone companys are not helping any of not screening these calls. The ID cid works to avoid thses phone calls.  I will tell you what works for me. On my greeting I say " The national no call list does not work. I do not responds to telemarketer calls " Then I continual with my normal greetings. The telemarket hang up durung my first part of my greetings. It works. Silent your ringer on your answering machine and let the answering machine anxwer. That one way of doing it. Or unplug the telephone line at a certain time. Let people know when your phone is working during certain time.  Of corce I have not done that yet. Yes is harassment, and annoying in receiving these calles. It is every day now my phone rings.

The next time they call I will allow a piercing sound to come thru their ears.  Perhaps they will think twice before they call again.   What a scam and I am thankful I was able to look up this scam info.   Thanks!

Writing to the FTC is fruitless ... it is another worthless government agency that knows it can get away with mediocre enforcement. I tried to writing to an Ohio Senator ... he escalated the complaints to the FTC who then wrote back that there is nothing they can do ... and shortly afterwards the Senator started robo-calling us. Best yet that once they have your number drop it and change to another number or switch to Google voice that's free and allows you to block unlimited calls. ATT paid premium call services limits you to only 10 blocked calls ... pitiful isn't it? You really have to watch who you give your private number out to .... especially don't give it out to any Guitar Center croonies ... they most likely will sell your number.

For fun, I waited for an operator then after telling her of my interest in having my rates lowered, I offered her a hypothetical situation that was sexually graphic in nature. Aside from filing complaints with the donotcall.gov, this is how I will deal them from now on.

I also got the call, but I didn't mind the call, Why, because I bought a Digitone Call Blocker.  www.digitone.com The first time they call, it rings my phone and the call comes through. I then block the number and the next time they call, my phone doesn't even ring and the blocker hangs up on them. You can even block entire area codes. I have it setup to block any incoming calls with the 855 area code. The blocker keeps track of all calls, good and bad ones. Then I like to check to see who got hung up on just for fun like I am now.

You need to buy one of these, you?ll like it. No monthly fees either
