no more calls please

claims to be from the cbe group, they had my address and social security number

they called me looking for someone else, i just got a new phone number so i'm guessing it's a debt collection sort of thing possibly

They call at 9pm, ask for someone else and never leave a message

Has called me three times today, but don't leave a message. The number is from somewhere in NJ

Came up Allentown, NJ. Refused to give any information about who they were representing and kept trying to get information from me.

I thought it was some kind of debt collection but if that was true then they are obligated by law to say so.

Keeps calling me and never leaves a message???  who is this and why are they calling me?  it's been over a month they keep calling!!!  stop calling me!!!!!

I'm getting really sick of this caller. It's one thing to call over and over again and never leave a message, but when you call back they don't even have the decency to answer!!! When you call the number back you get some sort of recording with a terrible British/Australian accent. It's so bad you can't understand the first to words and then the recording tells you to please hold. Seems pretty fishy to me that the automated message coming from NJ has an accent. Also, when you actually answer the call you get the d***ed recording that tells you to please hold!!!!! If they can't even call me themselves why should I bother answering the phone!!!! I'm getting this number blocked.

Won't leave a message and won't say anything when we answer. They call 2-3 times a day!

I'm getting sick of this caller. It's one thing to call and not leave a message over and over again, but when I called back this morning it was a British/Australian sounding automated message. The accent was so bad you couldn't hear the first two words of the message and then the message told you to please hold. THEN when you actually pick up it's that d*** recording again telling you to hold!!!!!!! I'm calling up my phone company to block this number, if they can't even answer themselves or at the very least leave a message they can find a different number to annoy me by.

I received a call from this # and they were looking for a person I never even heard of. I worry about identy theft and it kind of shook me up. I am glad to see these other postings.

Received a call from them at 8:46 this morning.  Did not answer.  Call went to voicemail, where an automated message was partially recorded.

This number keeps calling my house.  I have been getting all kinds of screwy calls with CBE Group in the caller ID, all different numbers and some even claiming to be cellular calls.  The girl that had the phone number before my family has countless debt collectors looking for her that do not give up even after being told they have the wrong number and I have no clue who the person is that they are looking for.

How old is the debt? If it is beyond the statute of limitations in your state, they can't collect on it:

It IS a bill collector in NJ. I called and found they have a VERY old bill from verizon on me.

I get calls from a lot of weird numbers that don't leave messages.  When I call back using *67, the call is always dropped.  So I called back without *67 and there's a recording with a British accent.  Must be a bill collector or something, although I don't have any oustanding bills.
