How to stop a debt collector from calling you:

Under the FDCPA, you may send a letter to a collector requesting that all collection calls cease. But in order for this request to be effective, it must be in writing. Once the request is received by the collector, the collector may only contact you once more to inform you that collection efforts will cease, or they can contact you to notify you of the specific remedies the collector or creditor may use to collect the debt from you.

What do we do if they called, i didnt know they were fake. now what do i do?

Just got a call from these people they are Tate & Kirlin a collections company they too don?t know how to leave a message so they too will not get a second chance I have blocked their numbers with my software here are numbers I have found that they use so far I will update this list as I find other numbers they use.

The calls from this number is getting less.  I put a block on the number.  Hope they get the message.

I also received a lot of calls from this number.  I think they must be marketers.  I'm on the do not call list so I reported them to the FCC.

Me too!  I reported them to the FDCPA.  They are in violation of lots of federal laws.  I read about them on www.budhibbs.com and learned enough to know that these jerks are just so bad that I had to report them.  I also called my local phone service and they told me how to block them.  

What dirtballs they are.

Have answered this number numerous times.   It has been automated asking for a specific person.  Told them the person was unavailavle, not at this phone and will never be available for this phone number.

They just don't get the hint that they have the wrong number.

They keep calling my number all the times.

Called repeatedly looking for Charlotte.  I have told them repeatedly that I am not Charlotte, don't know Charlotte, and hope I never meet her, because I will fully tell her what I think about her giving MY number out.

I called them back 75+ times today, to give them a taste of their own medicine.  What did I say?  "May I speak to Charlotte, please?"  After 2 hours of driving everyone in the office insane, they swore to take my number out of the computer.  We'll see.

I thought it was against the FDCPA to contact on a Sunday. These folks are calling on Sunday afternoon. What's up with that, if it's old debt then guess what it's been adjusted off, get over it, not going to be cursed at by anyone from any company.

They never leave a message but call pretty often. Likely a wrong number.

Collection agency that usually violate the FDCPA. They also buy time barred debts, meaning debts that people can claim statute of limitations on as far as the debts are "too old" goes.

CONTINOUSLY AND REPEATEDLY CALLS MY CELL PHONE 24/7. I WISH THE HARASSING PHONE CALLS WOULD STOP.
