They call three to four times a day , I tell them I am not interested in Direct Energy. Usally three to four different people a day . They pass around this phone number just to get the quota in calls.

No message left.  Caller ID was "DIRECT ENERGY."  Presumed telemarketer.

I no longer answer calls from this number but today the idiot left a voice-mail.  He said "This is Michael from..." and it sounded like "Head Small Business Services" but I could have that wrong because he didn't speak very clearly (imagine).  He said "I need someone to call me back"

I immediately LOL'd.

He then toned it down and asked that someone please call him back at 877-423-0172.Googling that number shows people referring to "Hess Small Business Services" and the same gas/electric supplier SCAM noted by others in this thread.

I need someone to call me back.  That just killed me.

Myself also getting call from this number, when I call back one of the song play.  I received twice already.  same song played.

That number came up in my callerID sometimes in 2012 and again it came up today. I just ignored it & let it ring. I got several scam calls frequently for a few years, but callerID device helps a lot tho. I'm just tired of those calls. If that is really important that they want us to know, they will send us a letter about it. That is all I could do in a sensible manner at this time to handle those scam callers.

609 662 5293 never ending phone calls all day long!!!!  No one answers.  No reverse contact possible.  They call as late as 8pm and as early as 8am.  IMPOSSIBLE TO STOP.  
IT SHOULD BE ILLEGAL TO HARRASS HOMEOWNERS LIKE THIS!!!!!!  IF SOMEONE WERE RINGING YOUR DOOR BELL NON STOP YOU COULD HAVE THEM ARRESTED.  WHY IS IT THAT THIS NON STOP CALLING IS PERMITTED?

There is no such thing as a new number.  Your new number is someone else's old number.  Your call was aiming for the person who had the number before you got it.

Just received a new telephone and new number and the first day received a call from Direct Energy.  I never heard of the company.  I also received calls from the company the next couple of days.  When the call is answered no one responds.  I told my wife that someone who had the number before probably didn't pay their bill and they are sending harassing calls.  The last time Direct Energy called, I called back and received a recorded song, "fly me to the moon."  The following day I searched the company name and number on Google and realized that it is some sort of company scam.

This number calls all hours of the day and night. Sometimes they do talk to me when I pick up. They identify themselves as "Direct Energy". HERE IS HOW THEIR SCAM WORKS: They promise to lower your energy bills by being a "free market" energy supplier. Then, when you see NO savings, they hit you with huge fees to "break" a contract ... one that you never thought you signed! They are more interested in the break-up fees than with providing cheap energy! Just Google "Direct Energy Scam" and you'll see what I mean. They've been doing it for a long time.

I called them back and told that I'm recording this call (i lied). first lady who took the call was scared and forwarded to supervisor. she immediately took me off and apologized. I think, recording the call makes huge difference. try it.

I received several call from this number.  When I called them back, they were playing the song fly me to the
moon.  I received 3 to 7 calls a day on my answering machine.  I ignored it and finally it stopped.

this number calls 5-12 times a day, the caller ID says Direct Energy. I have told them to stop calling and they won't, all i know is I am going to have to go to the BBB if this keeps happening.

This number calls about 3-5 times a day. when I answer no one is on the line, when I hit redail no one answer. I called the company they don't know who's making the calls??? all they did was to give me the phone # for DO NOT CALL LIST 1888-382-1222.

This number calls about 5-8 times an hour-every hour. I've told them repeatedly to stop calling and to put my number on the DO NOT CALL list-however they still call.

Just got a call from this number, they didn't leave a message .  When I call back it was from a company called Direct Energy
