Crossfire is a company subed out by local newspapers.  They call to offer
you a special introductory rate to get you to subscribe to the newspaper.  I asked why is it that they enjoy hanging up & not leaving messages, I was told that they are instructed to not leave any messages.

They call and hang up. I am on all DNC lists. 609-718-0661.

Well...I just got the 2nd call and like everyone else, they call at about the same time: 12:30ish.  I didn't worry much about it yesterday, but I get annoyed when people don't leave messages, so I tried calling the number back.  The first time it just rang and rang.  Then I got on here trying to do a search for who it might be, which lead me to this, and enticed me to call again and see what happened (although the comment about $12000/min has me a bit nervous!).  This time, I got the whole, "If you would like to be placed on our do not call list, press 1" thing...we shall see.

Yes they called me 5 times and its every night around 9pm. Tonight I called back and pressed 1 for the do not call list. What a joke!! They need to be reported and fined because they have no Idea what the hell there doing. Is this some kinda phone scam?

Called my cell phone saying this is the second and final notice my warranty on my car is expiring.

They called me several times until one time I pressed "1". I explained to the low-paid (energetic, yet slow) operator that I do not have a car or house. He then hung up on me.

They call me at work all the time, it's ridiculous.

If you call the number, you can get on their "Do not call" lists. Let's see if that works! If not, I am going all out on these idiots.

I just got one and the wierd thing is I was born and raised in the 609 area but moved to florida in 1986!!

missed the call, tried calling back. first time it was silent. the second time there was a recording saying, if you would like to be removed from our call list, press one. so i did and it said thank you for calling, good bye.

I'm a little nervous because I've heard about some people from other countries calling and getting you to call them back or stay on the line and they charge like $12,000 a minute!!!!

got a call. I answered. It was a recording of someone talking vaguely about a second warning on the warranty on my car that is about to expire. This is BS. It said hit 1 to talk to a rep. and hit 2 to be taken off the call back list. I hit 2. We will see if they call back.

Started getting this call. Several times.  Didn't know who it is.  I get a beep letting me know they left a message.  When I listen to my messages, all I hear is music and no one comes on the line.  ????

I received a call today from this number and they identifed themselves as Amber with Allied Medical, wanting to discuss a price increase on my latex gloves. I stated "We do not use your company for any services." I barely got the words "We do not" out of my mouth and she hung immediately.

I just called the number back at approx 8:35est 10/15/08.

The guy answered and spoke on a behalf of the local newspaper in my region, I'm assuming it's a call centre that has all the nations local newspapers in a matrix and directs phone calls to you for delivery specials.

For the past three days I have received calls from this number but like many other people I do NOT pick up for any numbers I dont know. This is crazy, I too am on the DO NOT CALL list. Very annoying!

If you answer the call no one is there.  I called the number back and apparently the call is regarding a local newspaper subscription.  However, I find this very suspicious because the number is from a NJ area code and I live in FL!!!  I will be calling the newspaper they claim to be from tomorrow to find out if this is a scam.

I HAVE BEEN RECEIVING CALLS FROM THIS NUMBER FOR SEVERAL WEEKS AND THEY ARE COMMING TO MY CELL SEVERAL TIMES A DAY INCLUDING WEEKENDS. I DO NOT ANSWER UNRECOGNIZED CALLS ON MY CELL.  BUT ON ONE OCCASION I HIT REDIAL  AND SOMEONE ANSWERED BUT WOULD NOT IDENTIFY THEMSELVES.  I TOO AM ON THE DO NOT CALL LIST. THIS IS NOT ONLY STRANGE BUT VERY ANNOYING.

I finally hung on and got to speak with someone. She seemed dismayed regarding the hangups. I advised I was on all DNC lists and would treat further calls as harrassment and report them to the Attorney General of my state.

They are soliciting newspaper subscriptions apparently for papers owned by the Journal Register Companies, Trenton, NJ.

Journal Register stock shows it slipped to being penney stock.

Same concerns with this number calling three times today at least. Not sure why or where it's originating from?  Any good leads?

really bizarre, they called and the company's name was Crossfire. I left it for the answering machine, but no one was on the line. Really weird.

They started calling around the beginning of September.  They call at least 4 times a day, starting at 8 am until 9 pm.

This company started calling me last week 3 or 4 times a day.  If I answer the phone the line is silent.
