I received the same email and deposited the check, my bank informed me that the check was flagged for investigation and asked me if I had received it in the mail and if I was asked to send any funds to someone.

Once I confirmed that I had, they suggested that it could be part of a scam, apparently it has happened before and is very common.

My advice to anyone looking for a job online is to ALWAYS meet your employer before accomplishing any tasks for them and to trust your instincts. If something feels too odd or unprofessional, you should thoroughly investigate it or just walk away.

Good luck !

ARTHUR KITCHENS almost got me! BEWARE OF AN AD ON CRAIGS LIST BY ARTHUR KITCHENS LOOKING FOR A P/A. Odd way to conduct business. He will say you have the job via email and without meeting you. Sent me check for $3950.00. $450.00 which was supposed to be mine and $3500.00 that was to go to an orphanage. Agressively texting me like crazy trying to see when the check was going to be deposited. I kept asking for a meeting in order to meet my new employer and he said he will be back in the COUNTRY in 2 weeks and that we would meet then. Fishy Fishy FISHY! I am glad I held off and searched some more. The number he was texting me from is 609-738-0087 as you can see is a New Jersey are code. The check looked legit, so I called to verify if the acct was real, which it was a valid Wells Frago acct. The company name on the check, is a real company based out of Los Angeles. All signs pointed to yes, luckily I was at work and searched 'ARTHUR KITCHENS SCAMS' and lo and behold, this site came up with info regarding the SCAM! So if I can help in any way so that no one else gets scammed, that is what I'd like to do. I read one of the postings on this site, who actually deposited the check into their acct and their entire acct was wiped clean.
