Hey I was just contacted by this number to be a personal part time assistant, he says he's 54 year's old everything the same from everybody else. He said that he way pay me $470/week and he plans on sending me a check FedEx to run errands for him to buys toys for a orphanage and things. I am glad that you guys posted your experience because I knew that it sounded iffy.
There's another scammer or same one using the name John Williams. The e-mail is firstname.lastname@example.org. Just letting you all know. I almost fell for his scam too.
Interesting thing is I responded to two post different position post on Craigslist and oddly enough they were both from him....the position titles were different and he was so blind to the fact that he responded to my email address twice about both positions all from him...smh
Well he's still at it again because he contacted me via email yesterday with the same message as the first post and Inalways go with instincts to verify before I do anything and that's when I came across this site and therefor based in other opinions I will not go along with this mess
SAME HERE BUT HE IS USING THE NAME DAVID HATCH NOW....I WENT TO THE BANK NOT MY BANK BUT THE WELLS FARGO BANK THAT THE CHECK SUPPOSEDLY CAME FROM & THEY KEPT THE CHECK....SMH...I TXTD HIM & TOLD HIM. I HAVNT HEARD FROM HIM SINCE....GO FIGUR....THE BANK SAID THEY KNEW THE CHECK WAS FAKE WNEN THEY TRIED TO PUT THE ACCT NUM IN.
I got the same e-mail but looked into it more before saying yes to anything and thats when I found this page. He used the name Issac Nov this time .
Hopefully no one else gets caught up with this scam!
I just gone through the same thing!
He actually put my number in for a craigslist code!
He has all my basic info, email, phone numbers, address, full name, and my whole school schedule!
This time he used the name John denning
I received the same email and deposited the check, my bank informed me that the check was flagged for investigation and asked me if I had received it in the mail and if I was asked to send any funds to someone.
Once I confirmed that I had, they suggested that it could be part of a scam, apparently it has happened before and is very common.
My advice to anyone looking for a job online is to ALWAYS meet your employer before accomplishing any tasks for them and to trust your instincts. If something feels too odd or unprofessional, you should thoroughly investigate it or just walk away.
Good luck !
SAY NO TO ARTHUR KITCHENS
ARTHUR KITCHENS almost got me! BEWARE OF AN AD ON CRAIGS LIST BY ARTHUR KITCHENS LOOKING FOR A P/A. Odd way to conduct business. He will say you have the job via email and without meeting you. Sent me check for $3950.00. $450.00 which was supposed to be mine and $3500.00 that was to go to an orphanage. Agressively texting me like crazy trying to see when the check was going to be deposited. I kept asking for a meeting in order to meet my new employer and he said he will be back in the COUNTRY in 2 weeks and that we would meet then. Fishy Fishy FISHY! I am glad I held off and searched some more. The number he was texting me from is 609-738-0087 as you can see is a New Jersey are code. The check looked legit, so I called to verify if the acct was real, which it was a valid Wells Frago acct. The company name on the check, is a real company based out of Los Angeles. All signs pointed to yes, luckily I was at work and searched 'ARTHUR KITCHENS SCAMS' and lo and behold, this site came up with info regarding the SCAM! So if I can help in any way so that no one else gets scammed, that is what I'd like to do. I read one of the postings on this site, who actually deposited the check into their acct and their entire acct was wiped clean.
Here is a sample of his lingo and email verbage:
