Has called twice and hung up.

They call me every weekday at approximately 10 am. If I answer, no one speaks. this is so annoying. It's been going on for weeks! I'm going to call Verizon. They'll make it stop. I've done it before for other numbers of people trying to fax my phone line.

The guy who calls is a complete a'hole - totally unprofessional and they will never see a dime from me.
If you make the mistake of giving money to these idiots you will end up on every scam artist's list and get constant calls.
I like the idea of having them pick the check up and having your local PD nearby.

Just rec'd the first call here from NJPOF, hopefully the last.  What a bunch of morons!  Sleazy sales reps only care about commissions off your donations.  Put them on 'extended' hold to let them ponder about their career choice...

this is a bogus #--they ask you for money over the phone---I know for a fact its fraud- DONT FALL FOR IT

dont even talk to these kooks--they collect money from unsuspecting people and give a very small percentage to the police--its perfectly legal if they say you are dontating to the police--but they keep 90% of the money--one of the big shots for this scam lives in a 2.5 million $ home in watchung,nj--I fell for it once and never again--also they now have a scam that says they are colecting for veterans--pity--they are preying on anyone who answers the phone!

they call constantly, never leave messages and when i answer they either don't answer... and just today they called and i asked why they keep calling and he said there are many of us that call and he hung up.  is this is some kind of scam?  it says NJPOD on caller id..  # is 609-948-0982.

Just for fun I decided to say i would donate $100. then I called my local (Edgewater)police and was told it was a scam and to call when they offered to pick up the check. The man picking up the check looked like a drug addict and I told him to wait for check while the Edgewater police were coming to greet him.  the guy took off! Scrambeled like a freak. That was a few years ago. NEVER got a call again! Today I am getting calls in my new location with a new number. This is a heartbreak to policemen everywhere who have done a thankless job and died in the line of duty. These people need to be closed down. I dont suggest doing what I did...it could be dangerous and I did not think of that, I wanted to be sure it was a scam, at the time I was willing to donate - and it was a terrible SCAM! Now I research every place that I donate to before sending a penny...also money is tight!

Repeated calls over the past few weeks, no one on the line.

they mailed me a decal and a tax reciept, thats good enough for me to claim for my taxes and all of these non profit companys have some sort of overhead, ie ppl that dont do anything but call to get money for them, i think that there is no company in america that dosent neeed support, so i sent them $50 i feel good about that. and they stopped calling me.

They call a minimum of 2 times a day and don't want to take no for an answer. One time tried to explain some hardships we're going thru and couldnt donate right now and they hung up on me in mid sentence. That act alone will keep me from ever donating to them.

I told them to mail info as we do not take phone solicitations and I don't think he liked my attitude, so the next day(I was off) some goon showed up at the office and my boss caved and gave him a check...still kills me!!

Just called the number on their site 1800IAPSNJ1 and of course no one is available to take my call (says the recording)...thats funny because they were available to call me a few minutes ago

Get these calls once every week for months...shows up on caller id as 973-949-8986 NJPOF...they used to ask for the business owner...don't know how but now they ask for him by name...i ask if there is something i can help them with and they just say no and hang up...called the number and got a recorded message that was completely garbled and full of static so I couldn't understand what it said...saw on the news and heard on the radio that the police will NEVER call to solicit money...will go to website that was listed above and try to get my number off there list...will also report to DNC registry

This belongs in the twilight zone, it reads 609-948-0982, NJPOF in our caller id and they have call many times during the past months and always hang up until today, they asked if they had the correct name of our business and then the male caller hung up.
Is this some kind of a psychological test?

small business owner here and I get at least 1 call a day from this nbr- I dont pick up and they dont leave a message

web site also has an 800 number (800) 921-2022 if they call one more time this week I will call that number

i just got a call from njpof and the guy was a do***e bag. i picked up the phone and said the person they were looking for wasnt here this is his secretary can i take a message. they he saidf to me before hanging up like a chicken sit: "you're a man, how can you be a secretary". thats all i got. so these people will get nothing. NJPOF ----> YOU LOSE!

Ask the caller for a call back number and they end the call..(hang up)

I understand that police departments "do not" solicit phone calls for money.

Support your local police department by sending a check "directly" to them, not a solicitor.

This number came up on my caller ID and I didn't pick up, it said NJPOF.  I make it a habit to not pick up any calls that I do not recognize; they hung up as soon as my answering machine picked up.
