This is the generic U of M caller id. It is used when someone dials out without a 'callback number'. If you called the computer helpline, and they called you back after your cat pulled the phone cord out of the wall, this would be the caller id. So, a call from this number means somebody in the University of Minnesota's 10,000 phones has called you. Good luck figuring it out.

This number appears when someone calls from the University of Minnesota.  I think it is used to hide the actual number of the caller.

I got a called from this number today asking for my sister, even knowing her name, I assumed they were making an appointment to see her because she is a hairdresser. So I gave them my sisters number and later today she told me she got a weird call from the U of M confirming her appointment with a surgeon. When she asked what this was about, they ask "You have been having problems with your transplant right?" and my sister never having surgery in her life stated no, she doesn't have any kind of transplant. They asked her for her date of birth, which apparently matched up with the other person with the same first name as my sister and it wasn't until they asked for her last name that they realized that they had the wrong person. I find it kind of weird that they called someone (me) asking for my sister by name (and me having someone with that name) and having the wrong person. I also feel bad for the person who is having trouble with their transplant and I hope they can figure it out before its too late! Kind of scary that they can make a mistake like that...

this is a generic u of m number that is accessed by anyone for the purposes of a personal call and is a one way call. There are over a thousand phones that anyone can conduct unauthorized business from. They have accessed my elderly mothers u of m records & solicit donations from a list of organisations that are not legitimate. And have personal information that hook her into speaking This is a predatory, aggressive, tactic that there is no recourse to dispute. The u of m says they its abuse of this phone &  no donations are ever legitamately solicited from this number.

It is the U of MN. . .a pesky bunch of creeps looking tp squeeze money out of you for the Alumni Association.

I have to laugh, because I am a U of MN graduate. . .I thought that automatically made me an "alumni"  -  Didn't the $30,000 ior so I paid in tuition cover my "alumni fees"??  hahahaha

These jerks used to call me about everyday for about 2 weeks.  FInally, I answered the phone and told them that I would be dammed if the U was going to get another cent out of me. . . and . . .what do you know.. . they stopped calling!  HHHMMMM

Maybe you guys should answer your phone and tell them the same thing???

QUIT BEING SCARED!!!

Just answer the call and tell them to stop calling. . .and that you ain't going to donate CRAP!

This is a general outgoing switchboard number for the University of Minnesota.  In my case it was the Veterinary Teaching Hospital informing me that a prescription was ready for my dog.

It's the u of m, settle down and answer your phones so you can actually find out why they are calling.  Start paying your bills and quit being scared of the debt collectors so you can man up and answer your phones.  Nobody from that number is trying to collect money you owe, geesh people get a life.

This is the standard (do not call back) number the University of Minnesota displays because their phone system sucks so bad they can't just have it say "Private" or "Anonymous."

It is used by everything from clinics to the grad school.

If you received a call from this number it has something to do, probably legitimately, with the University of Minnesota.

They call multiple times a day, leaving no messages.  When I call the number back I get a message that it is a non-working University of Minnesota phone number. Sure would like them to stop calling.

This is the line for appointment confirmations from a University of Minnesota medical clinic. If they don't have permission to leave a message, they won't.

Got a call from the carlson undergrad office. it is still and service.  you cannot call back though.  It is meant only for University Employees to call externally.  It surprises me that they use this method since the caller is left with an unusable missed call number.
