a robocall from a telemarketer offering to install a residential security system in my home for free if I permit them to put a sign in my front yard, presumably one advertising their services, but she didn't specify.

The computer calls every number in a sequence.  No number is out of bounds for the computer program.  They dont know that you have a snobby a** government phone, that we pay for!!!  Get over yourself!!

The security system hawkers are well established among violators of the TCPA and the Telemarketing Sales Rule. The so-scary "FBI report / yard sign" pitch has been running a couple years at least. Keypress options for setting no-call are required of sales callers by federal law, but in this case it's "compliance theater" since the canned cold call is illegal to begin with, and moreso when a Do-Not-Call registrant is disturbed. Any keypress signals to the scammer and his pals that a live person is present who *might* one day make a purchase.

Free installation has been part of the scheme for a long time. The same offer is made in print ads for ADT, et al. It's a variant on "give away the razor, sell the blades". The end game is to rope you into a long term system monitoring contract, one designed to hold you captive when you find out the installation was poor or incomplete, or the monitor service was never active as promised.

The ''Stop Tom'' site has arguably done the most to explore the messy problem.

called approx 5 pm.  they did not leave message when I did not pick up.

did not answer, no message left. 2nd unknown number to call me this week after months of no telemarketer calls.

2nd unknown caller this week that has called me and apparently is a telemarketer. Did not answer, no message left. Already on federal do not call list.

called house phone and cell phone within seconds. both ringing at the same time.  wow I'd love to get these idiots banned. this is the 5th time they called my cell. guess what I already have an alarm system.

Telemarketing ignore or return call and request not be contacted however it will only encourage them and confirm the telephone number as valid for their robot roster.

Continue receiving marketing "cold" calls from this number.  These are NOT solicited.  

Every 15 minutes there is a home breakin...  Home security seller.  Blooding annoying!  Received multiple calls from this number.

They called my cell phone a little while ago. I rarely get calls like this on my cell. It's one of those for seniors who get some kind of assistance, where you get a few free minutes each month. I "ignored" the call.

Left me a message saying that they would install a free home security system, if I would allow them to put a sign in my yard. I live in an apartment, so the sign would have to say "I'm a dumbass "
