How do you know that this number is from a locator company??  Can we find out who is trying to track us?  I have had other calls like this so I'm concerned.

They keep calling at random times of the day. I do not pick up for phone numbers that I don't recognize, and this is one of them!  No message is left. I have our phone numbers registered with the DNC list but calls like this still get through?

IF you have an Android phone you can download and app called MR. Number. The app, with your assistance of course, will filter calls for you as you add numbers to the block an for spam list.  I do not answer calls to numbers I am not familiar with.  I digress, I LOVE this app... It gives you the option of answering and automatically hanging up on the caller or sending the call directly to voicemail... IE companies like Conn's, finger hut, etc... that start calling the day the bill is due if you haven't paid it yet, or any other annoying person that you don't want to actually block but do not really want to talk to when they call. I particularly LOVE the Hang-up feature because I have Charter Internet service and they REFUSE to remove you from their soliciting phone calls to up your service or buy more... So I just set Mr. Number to automatically hang up on them when they call sometimes up to 8 or 9 times in one day.

We will never be able to stop the marketing phone calls regardless of Do Not Call Lists ETC... Every new account you open via the internet, ANYTIME you give out your phone number or email you are agreeing to allow them to contact you via those methods (it's in the small print, and some companies even have you agreeing to allow them to sell your information to other marketers. I work at a marketing company so I know what I am talking about)  Most reputable companies give you a way to opt out fairly easily but some companies make it virtually impossible. You can file all the complaints you want but unless you follow the instructions to the letter of how to opt out most marketing organizations protect themselves in the small print they put on all those sweepstakes entries, contest entry forms, FREE SWAG at tradeshows etc... ANYTHING that you fill out unsuspectingly. It's either posted somewhere or on the entry form itself somewhere I assure you.  So if you don't want a bunch of marketers calling you... or emailing you spam... DO NOT ENTER YOUR PHONE NUMBER OR EMAIL ADDRESS INTO ANY DIGITAL FORM OR WRITTEN FORM WITHOUT: READING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS; READING ANY NUMBERED FOOT NOTES OR ASTERISKED CAVEATS; AND FINDING WHERE TO OPT OUT OF THEM BEING ABLE TO USE AND/OR SELL THAT INFORMATION TO MARKET TO YOU.

Telemarketer
This is a phone number used by private investigators and/or hackers and is used to verify you are actually at your phone number location. It's the first step in either physically or electronically tracking you or tracking you down for a client (who could be anything from a former lover to a boss to a bail bondsman to a complete stranger and creepy stalker type).

The coupon thing is a total front.

If you took the time to read the posts you would know that it doesn't matter if you are on the Do not Call registry or not.  They continue to call.  That is the precise reason for sites like this.....to help voice displeasure with companies that continue to violate your rights!

Not true. Companies violate the DNC list all of the time and there are multiple ways of getting a cell phone number. Often scams and marketers are just dialing numbers. You seem to like blaming the victims instead of calling the perpetrators to account. So what's up with you.

this number called me and left a voicemail of two women having a random convo. I called back and the voice operator said I was the only one in the conference. Then someone answered and hung up. This crap is so annoying!

Got a call from this number and I answered it.  You could hear a lot of background noise and then they hung up.  Sounds important.

@Fed Up

My number is registered with the Do Not Call Registry. So I can and will complain. I am so tired of getting calls when I am not supposed to be.

Cell phone numbers are public records so if you don't want phone calls on your cell then register it with the Do Not Call Registry. It's that simple - so quit complaining that you are getting calls. It is your fault if you don't register your number.

Just received a call for these jerks on my cell phone but I didn't answer it.
Because I never answer calls from numbers I don't know.
They need to do something about companies like this.
