They are going thru craigslist and calling people.  They called me and it just sounded like a prank with the guy overdoing the voice.  

An indian  gentleman called and said he was with the bbb and his name was officer shane williams and the company that was supposivly pressing charges was cash advance and he couldnt tell me how much the supposed loan was for but wanted me to make a payment by my debit or cc or western union  sounds like the same people from cash advance

Your social security number will be FROZEN?  
Guess they don't know there is no such thing as debtors prison in the US.

i receive calls from this number from officer shane williams with a heavy accent saying my ss# will be frozen and i would be arrested i asked for an address i was told i couldnt have one because it was illegal to give it to me i cant understand what he was saying the background is very noisy

This man with an indian accent just called me and when I called the number back it is a magic jack phone number and no official organization uses magic jack as their phone company. He stated that it is a legal matter and the case file can be pulled up from any state in the US.  He knows my social and said if I dont call back he is going to pursue legal action.

Yes same here.  I could tell it was a scam because a few nights before the same man called saying he was from a different company trying to get my bank account info.  It's a non mistakeable voice and accent so I'm sure it was the same man.  Scarey thing is that he knows all my info including my ss number.  And no one cares or wants to check into it at the local police office.  Told me I was due in court the next day so i actually called the clerks office just in case and of course it was bogus. I just want him to quit calling, he's very creepy.

I received a call today, from Officer Shane Williams. I let it go to voice mail since I do not know anyone in the Minneapolis area. I live in Indiana. I have no intentions of talking to these people, but if by chance I do I will tell them to call my attorney. Thank you for your help.

DO NOT SPEAK TO THESE PEOPLE!!  THEY ARE SCAMMERS!  They are likely located overseas and are trying to get people to pay them money that is not owed to them.  If they do not stop calling, blow a whistle into the phone every time they call.  I had a client who received calls from them after they filed bankruptcy and was told by a man with an accent that he was an officer that agreed with the charges of fraud against my client.  That is NOT the way the legal system works in this country.  They would have to address fraud through the BK Court.  Also, police officer would not call from a number that is located so far from his district.

David Miller and Mke Taylor are the names used want me to pay for bank fraud and my manager too. (612)454-7042 is the number they gave me.  They want to know if i want to pay $5400 for bank fraud and other charges or they will take me to court

I got a call Friday and today.  He said his name was Shane Williams but he sounded foreign and his accent was so thick I could barely understand him.  It went to voice mail but he said he was calling on a serious legal matter and I would be arrested if I didn't call him back.  I called him on Friday but the connection was bad and it sounded like an echo chamber and I didn't get what he was saying.  I am going to contact local autorities.

I just received a call from this number.  A foreign guy said that if I didn't pay them back money I owe them they will take legal action and have me arrested.   I requested to speak to his supervisor and he said NO I am.  I told him my lawyer will be in contact and how dare they try and scam me...  He said he is from Quick Cash Advance, but when you call it back you get voice mail.

these guys claim to be debt collectors. they have foreign accents but give american names. they threaten to sue you in court using information they recieved from a transaction you may have done online.  ask for the name of the company they are collecting for then go online check it out. call the company about it. you will find its a scam. be safe and be aware

Only thing i can sugguest is that you change your number, I have been getting harrash by the same people and I am going to change my number. I will let you know if that works.

The same man with a foriegn accent keeps calling me at work. I have asked several times not to be contacted at work and to send me something in writing. The man refuses to send me a hard copy of any info. He claims that he is an officer and uses a different name each time he calls. This time it was David Brown. Ya right! This has scam written all over it. It is against the law to call someones work once they request for it to end. The man claims he has never called before each time but it is the same man. How can I make this stop?

These people have called me at work and at home threating to have me arrested and to freeze my ss# states he is with the justice dept. he has given me 3 different names.  Officer Mike Johnson, Mike Taylor and Rox Murphy.  I have reported this to police dept.
