I received a text message today from this number saying: WELLS FARGO ALERT: Your CARD has been DEACTIVATED. Please contact us at 402-201-2170.
I do not have any Wells Fargo accounts. This is obviously a scam - confirmed when I googled the number and found similar reports from others who have reached the same conclusion. These people need to be caught.

I received a text today from the same number (612-747-6254) with the same message - Your card has been deactivated, please contact us at... - and this time the contact number was 402-201-2170.
I also do NOT have any accounts with Wells Fargo, so I knew immediately it was a scam.

I got that same text message today, Saturday 11/12. The number to call has a local area code. Needless to say, I've never done business with Wells Fargo. I googled the area code 612 and sure am glad to have found this website.

I too received a text from this number indicating my card had been deactivated. In my case the callback number provided was 541-728-0628. I called my local branch directly and they indicated it was a scam text. So this scam is still ongoing as of 11/12/11.

Received scam text message from 612-747-6254 [with reply number to call at 612-223-5411] regarding a deactivated card with Wells Fargo. Don't have any thing with Wells Fargo so I knew it was a scam.
Apparently, from other sites I seen, if you call back to the 612-223-5411 number, it sounds like it is Wells Fargo. However, you are apparently endangering your account info due to the fact it asks - apparently like Wells does - your card number and PIN. So do not call this number.
If you check the Wells Fargo site, there is apparently a big notice there as they have been hitting Oregon and Washington with these same scam texts - and even phone calls - for about six weeks to date [11/1/11].
Hope this helps someone out!

Rcv'd text on cell phone stating: "WELLS FARGO ALERT: Your card starting with ++++ has been deactivated. Please contact us at: 612-223-5411." The number showing as source of call was 1-612-747-6254.
They are attempting to get card numbers along with expiration date, security code, PIN, and SS#. Wells Fargo rep stated within an hour of giving them this info they are seeing all forms of international charges on victims accounts.
