I just received a call from the same number. It is a landline number in the Ottawa-Hull area. Sounds like a scam to me. This was a female calling me. No donation from me either!

Rude. Hang up if they hear my voice. Always asking for my husband as he bought circus tickets in past. Never attended and don't even know if a circus was in town (not Cirque du Soleil). Trying to sell event tickets (comedy,etc).
Keep calling despite having requested that our number be taken off their list.

say their name is 'fire watch" looking for funds for fire chief, etc - they leave a 1-800-382-3072 to call back for "further info" but when you call you receive a msg "this call cannot be completed as dialed" msg....

Called yet again. I did not answer. These "Firefighters" request my husband (who has donated in the past : circus tickets, comedy shows, etc) and they hang up when they hear my voice.
I say give them a minute of your time and supply a FALSE credit card number. My favourite is to pretend I am a very young child ... then I have fun !

Had a similar call, except he said the organization was "FireWatchers". I told him the number was unlisted, wasn't supposed to be in his database, and hung up as he started on about something or other.

The caller 'said' he was representing the firefighters of canada and phoning from Manitoba. He was looking for donations. He was persistant and I can not say he was rude. However, I do not deal with donations or business over the phone unless I initate the call... NO EXCEPTIONS.
