Received a call from this number asking to speak to me, by name.  So I say "speaking" and in a very heavy accent he begins to talk, no idea wtf he was saying, and his line went dead. *Sigh, i'm getting tired of these stupid calls!

Brutal that these scammers can get local numbers. Wish there was a way to jail these PITAs.

Multiple calls from this number to our office line.
Different people, claiming to be from different cities, all detailing a problem relevant to our company's services.

Seems like they are doing "competition research" - coming up with fake scenarios in order to see what we offer, and how much we charge for it.

This morning, a man called from this number, identifying himself as being from the Montreal region.

Same as others have noted. However since I played along for about 15 mins and acted very naive, just as he was about to "close the deal" I started laughing at him, he got really pissy and unleashed his uneducated string of expletives just as I hung up.
Unfortunately for me, I have been getting at least 4 or 5 calls per day from the same #. If I pick up they usually hang up after an automated voice that says "good bye". A few times a mans voice comes on and swears (usually mother f****r is the go to insult)
This is getting old. I wish the authorities would do something.

Caller had an Indian accent and identified themselves as "Windows Support Center".  Caller id was "unknown", but it was a 613 number so appeared to be local.   I'm on the Do Not Call list, but clearly they don't respect that.  He offered to fix my computer -- an obvious phishing attempt.  I told him there no such company as "Windows Support Center" and to go away.

Really bugs me to think that these guys may snag some computer neophyte and con them into thinking they are from Microsoft by calling themselves "Windows" whatever.  I've heard "Windows Technical Support" and other variations.

Too bad the Call Type on this site doesn't include "Scammer".  Calling them a Telemarketer feels like legitimizing what they do.

I've been getting a lot of calls from this number since last week. I haven't spoken with anyone yet; answered yesterday, but got dead air. BUT I'm also getting bombarded with calls from 1-800-266-2266 (Google shows it as a number in India), for the exact same reasons. They called 7 TIMES in under 2 hrs last Monday. I was home sick, and my husband works nights, so I finally got angry and decided to stop ignoring the phone. The guy I spoke with immediately got defensive and denied that they called so many times. He kept saying that my computer was sending error mssgs and acted like he was doing me a huge favour. When I asked him to tell me exactly what the error mssgs were, he said he needed access to my computer for that. I laughed and said "I don't fn' think so!", and hung up. No idea why these calls have started recently... But it's great to have sites like this to warn others. I'm glad I wasn't ignorant enough to fall for the scam, but shudder to think of how many poor elderly people get fooled by it :(

Prank Call
I received 2 call from (613) 737-2889. the guy said he is from window tech support, that my computer is infected and he want to help fix it.

Windows tech support has been shut down last summer in 2013. plus Window don't make that kind of call.

first time he call his number was block, so I hung up on him, today same guy call again, but he forgot to block his number, so I tell him to go f*ck himself. and if he call you I advise you to do the same if he call you.

on window web site they said it a scam, that i should call the police to give him his number. So I gonna give them a call.

Just got a call from David from Windows Technical Support, found it difficult to understand with the accent.  Once I understood what he was saying, I asked where was he calling from because I saw the 613 area code and he answered that he was calling from Toronto.  So I asked what was the main highway through Toronto, he did not answer.  I went on to tell him that he was a terrible person and that he was a piece of sheet.  Did not make it that far, he hung up.  I hate these scamsters.

This guy called and identified himself as Peter And he asked about information on my computer. I told him I was going to report him to the police right away and he quickly hung up. I'm going to say that he's probably  looking for private information for some type of scam or fraud.
I sincerely hope that in the day in age people know better than to give ANY information whatsoever.
Hopefully the police monitors this site and looks into this number.

yada yada yada - we found a virus on your computer. Kept him on the line for 30min while I made dinner - i strung him along for as long as I could. He finally told me to F-off so I asked hime to spell it pretending to type it in, but stalled him by spelling it wrong. He started yelling at me about wasting his time - so i offered to wire him some money if he gave me a bank account and transit number. The idiot called his boss over to verify my intent - love it!

I am continuously getting calls regarding Windows from these people. Even after reporting this to the CRTC's Do not call list, nothing is stopping these people from calling. They are not afraid of anybody.

Called saying I had a computer problem that would cause my computer to slow overtime and that I would lose all documents and anything saved on it. I played along, and said I prefer to do thing myself rather than give  you control of my computer, so walk me thru what you would be doing to show me this problem exist. He did, in the root registry it said my certificate could not be authenticated and may be invalid...the validity date said from 1996 to 2039..Not know if this was the way it was when I bought it i said thank you now how do I correct the problem. He said he'd have to take control and charge 125$. I said what program are you using for remote control, he stated the name that pops up when you search scams...I said forget it and hung up. he said I could verify his authenticity through feedbackwc@live.com..I did do a complete scan of my computer afterwards..as he got me paranoid..but found nothing.

Here goes.  "Hi I'm calling from microsoft (hahaha!) about your computer, it has been sending us error messages without your knowledge.  I would like you to turn your computer on and do as I say".  I asked which one 'cause I have four?  He goes "the one you use the most!" ( no ip adress no nothing)  I said Where are you calling from on behalf of microsoft, he says "why do you want to know that?" and I said to verify that you are not a scammer trying to get info off my computer to do whatever it is that you guys do. He screams: "What info, to do what?" I laughed and asked for his adress again, he goes "we are in New York are you going to come down here to verify that" and I said yes, sure.   Hesitation then he goes St-John street... hesitation... 3271 (probably his birthdate) then he says after I give you my name are you going to turn on your computer? (because I asked him...) I said no... laughing  and then he says (in a strong far east accent: Then f*** you you MUDDERFACKER!   lol.  I obviously know more about computers than the average victim does.

This guy called at 8:50am on a Saturday. Heavy chinese accent. I actually ended messing around with him, he was looking into helping me with my computers problems. So I played along because right from the start I knew this was a BS call. Gave him bogus answers and asked to repeat the same things over and over again. He was persistent. Ended the call by asking him if he was gay because I was looking for some male action.
