Same here. He's at it again. Joseph from Ohio texted in response to a car we had on Craigslist, asking about condition and what the last offer was, certified check to clear, wants our address, has his own shipper. Geez!

It's all true scammer don't give any info.

have a truck for sale on craigslist received a text next day asking condition and what my last offer was. after texting with this person who says his name is joseph from ohio who is using his cell phone to text. anyway got him to text a yahoo mailing account which is blauwt@yahoo.com wants me to send him name and mailing address for he can send me certified check an says can wait til bank clears before dealing with shipping, oh an says he has a private shipper that would deal with the shipping of the truck lol i wont send anything.

This scammer is using paypal it all looks like its up and up then he was sending me 950.00 extra money to western union it to his shipper He was buying a dump truck from me and saw it listed on craigslist. Paypal sent me 3 emails that the money was there to put into my account as soon as I did the western union and sent them proof or the western union. I text ed him  back and ask " you want me to use my money to pay your shipper then I will get me money in pay pal I reported it to paypal and I just wish I could get my hands on him he would never be able to scam again. I didn't get scammed but I hate to think of all the old people who these scums do rip off...

Same thing-person has changed their name to Megan Pattee. Same scam, same wording-stay away

Posted an ad on Craigslist wedding dress, got a text: Megan Pattee I want to purchase your dress as soon as possible for my daughter before her Engagement/Wedding ceremony which is fast  approaching I will be paying you through a bank certified check so that you can have your cash in hand before shipping the dress I will wait for your bank to confirm and clear the check before we proceed witht he shipment. I will need you full name and address to mail the check to you and will be adding extra $100 for shipping. Megan 10:06 PM.

Do these scammers really think we are that stupid, I hope no one falls for this crap, get a job and get a life. I think Craigs List is a good forum but opens up to the losers of the world.

i got the same message but now his name is Michael Griego, he wanted to send a cashiers check, I had another number from 505-3750220 with the name Amanda watters. i was selling my new wedding dress and in the ad clearly states how much and the condition and they both asked  them same questions of how much and the condition. Clearly a scam because when i actually called the number is was an automated vocie mail that was fake.

He also goes by Michael Griego

I got a text stating the same as soon as I received the 2nd text about the engagement/wedding I knew it was a scam. I text back saying you wont be getting my dress scammer. I even called the number it says state your name and google voice will try to connect you and the voicemail says Scott.

The same thing happened to me. Only he said his name was different. This is what he texted me:
Hello this is Michael Griego i saw the posting of your wedding dress on craigslist and i will like to know the condition and how much you are offering it last.
I responded: The gown is in good condition. It is a sample gown so many brides to be tried it on. So it's not in mint condition. I will be happy to send you a picture of you're interested.
He replied: (1/3)I want to purchase your dress as soon as possible for my daughter before her Engagement/Wedding ceremony which is fast approaching... well I didn't give the guy any of my information but if I did I think I would call the police because that sounds very scary. I know the phone number is from ohio but the guy could be anywhere. please just take precautions you never know there's a lot of crazy people and obviously this guy has no life good luck to you and I'm not sure if it has anything to do with it but I was told to spell out your phone number

I received the same exact messages as everyone here, except he changed his name to Michael Griego. I gave him my name and address! I should've known better. This will not be happening again. Please don't fall for this scammer! Do you guys know what happens now that I gave my information? Do I go to the police?

EXACT same thing happened to me!  I put a wedding dress on craigslist and got a response from this number saying his name was Michael Griego.  He asked about the condition of the dress and I replied.  His reponsed by saying he'd send a certified check with an extra $50 for shipping, blah blah blah.  Same exact thing everyone else is saying.  I'm really glad I googled this number!!

This is a person running a scam on greags list about buying a wedding dress for hs daughter.

I got the same message from Michael Griego. Sent him one back stating I could not sell the dress to him because Craigslist prohibits it. Blocked his number through Verizon Wireless' call/text block service.

We had the same issue graigslist and a wedding dress Michael Griego was the name given asked 1000 sent 2800 forward balance to his daughter via western union/money gram for wedding planner. All info turned over to proper authorities.

"How are you?this is Michael Griego i saw the posting of your wedding dress on craigslist and i will like to know the condition and how you are offering it last"
My response: "Did you read the posting"
... No response back.
I called this number and it is GoogleVoice prompting you to say your name and they will attempt to connect you.... SCAM. Don't fall for these texts. First sign, is lack of proper English. Secondly, people usually do not introduce themselves in the first text. Third, people generally send a more casual text i.e. "Do you still have the wedding dress for sale?" Don't fall for these scams people. I only take local people seriously, I usually ask them a question about where they live before i give out any information. Also, MEET publicly, you never know who you could be inviting into your home.

i got the same message!! saying that he needed the dress for his daughter. and that he would send a check for the amount and would send an extra 50$ with it... Don't think so!  i new it was a scam!!! he said his name was Michael.

I also show on the check that the company is Sorkness Aviation Inc... the address is for a Farmers Insurance company on 6617 S 193rd Place Suite P 105 Kent, Wa. 98032. Sorkness Aviation is on 29739 4th Avenue South, Federal Way, WA. 98003. I know that he may of put all this together knowing he was giving false info but maybe these companies would like to know.... just sayin.

ok... I did some investigation. This person lives at 889 High Street. Worthington Ohio43085. At least that is where the number came from. I doubt his name is really Scott Nance. It also looks like a business but yet no business was registered there. Have fun with it.

I have been dealing with the Same person/number. Exact same story. I would like to be able to teach this guy a lesson. I have the so called "check" in hand. It supposeively came from a Wells Fargo in San Fran Cal with a return address. It is legit on the bank address. Wonder if sending this to Wells Fargo at that Address with a note will send a red flag or maybe someone else has an idea.???????

Got the same message and tried to call back  No answer.  Also thought it was a strange message.  When I googled him, found a mug shot and age 33.  Too young to have a  daughter getting married.
Glad I questioned.
