I got the same thing. They're pretty rude actually. The second time they called, I just hung up on them.

I work at Influent, and yes, as stated before we do use an automated dialer, which can cause hang ups. Just like Kevin stated, we call back until we reach the max attempt. The thing people need to understand, is that we are a business, and we have a quota to reach, if that isnt met we could loose our clients. As Kevin stated, ask to be put on the Do Not Call list, dont ignore the calls. I know its aggrivating, but we (the callers), are just doing our job.

these people call on Saturdays and Sundays at anytime. Early in the morning and up to 9 or 10 at night. Often they say nothing. What can be done legally to stop them. If the DNC registry was conceived for anything, it was to stop this type of crap. They need to be disciplined and not answering their calls is not the answer.

I started to get calls from this number several days ago. Many times already. The caller never left a message. I tried call the number, and it is said the number is disconnected. I am in DNC list. It sounds like Influent is a pretty fishy company.

It is irritating.. they constantly call.. I guess I have to just pick it up and tell them to take me off their list. I am a B of A customer - grrrrr.
Kevin M. 2011-06-06 20:52:40 Unknown
I used to run a large shift for this telemarketing company. They are using an automatic dialer and when you don't answer the phone you will get called back until you're number reaches the Max Attempts allowed by the client(B of A). Ya the company is shiesty, but it's legal. (That doesn't make it right though). You're best bet is to just answer the phone, wait for an agent and ask to be put on the DNC list. If you just don't answer the phone though you can count on being called back because well,,, they're trying to contact you.

I keep getting calls from this number. I am on the do not call list. Can I report them.
R.D. 2011-06-06 20:52:40 Unknown
This caller called my work phone. I don't answer when I don't recognize the number. Thank Goodness for caller ID! Caller did not leave a message. However, I tried calling the number and it said that the number was disconnected. I smell something fishy!

Influent used to call frequently and would identify themself as trying to sell various things for BofA. I have no business relationship with BofA, so do not fall into that DNC exception. Calls seem to have stopped after I identifying myself as an attorney, noting that they were violating federal law and explaining that I have already filed complaints with the appropriate government agencies.
Was at a relative's house the other day when she also got a call from Influent. Caller said it'd take 4+ weeks to be removed from the list - blatantly illegal, just as the call was in the first place - but the caller quickly hung up after being told that Influent is violating federal law and incidentally that she was talking to two attorneys. Pretty amusing. Bet it won't take Influent 4+ weeks to remove her from the list.
As a thought, anyone annoyed by Influent should 1. file a complaint with the DNC registry, the FTC, the FCC and other such agencies and 2. should contact Influent's clients, such as BofA to express concern that the company is apparently doing business with the disreputable and abusive Influent.
To the person who formerly worked at Influent, the fact that they're not obviously a "scam" does not mean they are not violating the law. Plenty of decent and ethical people work for such companies and likely never realize the company is violating the law. http://www.ripoffreport.com/reports/0/122/ripoff0122616.htm is an interesting blurb on the matter. I do hope none of your paychecks bounced while you worked for them.

I don't care if it's a scamm company or not! As far as I'm concerned they are harrasing me by constantly calling. If I wanted to talk to them I'd call them. This is invasive, rude and univited. I keep hanging up just to stop the ringing.

I used to work at Influent. Alot of different companies pay us to call people and sell their proudcts. Our managers tell us not to put anyone's name on the do not call list unless they specifically ask for it. We;re not a scam company and we are told to always schedule a callback time and the computer does not allow us to do otherwise.
Barbara 2011-06-06 20:52:40 Unknown
They call 3-4 times a day. Today I finally picked up and politely asked the rep to remove me from their list as I am on a Do not Call list. The telemarketer was very polite while reading from a script and told me that it might take 6 - 8 weeks to get my name removed.
Lets see if it works!

Just spoke with the caller from 614-652-2637. It is BANK OF AMERICA selling their Identity Theft package for a year, first 30 days free. I requested they remove my name and number from their list. The rep was courteous, young, a script reader.
