Got a dozen phone calls from 3 different number in Michigan last 3 days.  Don't answer them, they keep calling but change the phone numbers they call from.  Good advice to all, don't answer if you don't know the number.  If they were legit, they would leave a message.

They called me and wanted to confirm my address, said I used my visa card recnetly to make a $20 purchase and said they wanted to ship me a gift card.  Too bad my Visa has been cancelled for about 2 years - told the guy to never call back.  We'll see....

This number has called me 7 - i repeat 7 times today! Finally I answered to see what it was about. It was a young man saying that he is from Vista Services and tried to confirm the last 4 digits of my credit card. He said that I have been "hand picked" to qualify for $150 dollars in gas rebates. All it is going to cost me is $2.95 for shipping. With the rebates would be a packet of information on subscribing for some membership for 30 bucks a month to receive coupons. The guy started saying that I would not have to give any information over the phone. When he said that I asked him then how are you supposed to get my payment for 2.95? oh that's right you already have my credit card number don't you?" When asked how this company got my credit card info he said that I had made a purchase with an affiliated company in the past few months! How scary is that!!!!! So while I had him on the phone I decided to google "Vista Services" he kept saying try this, try this but I could find nothing. When I said that I couldn't find anything and that I am not giving permission to use my card with a company that doesn't exist he didn't really have much to say. I can't even begin to describe how scary this is. I just had a conversation the other day about buying things online and identity theft. To get a phone call today to hear that some company that doesn't exist has my credit card number - I have no words. I feel so violated. I will definately be calling to get a new credit card and I will no longer make purchases online unless I know for sure they are accredited by BBB, etc.

Damn, I just got a call from this number. I felt like something was going wrong. There was no free lunch, so I googled the phone number. That is how I got to this website. I do not understand why government could not catch those and put them in jail.

Got 11 calls from this number and 4 from a restricted number today.  I answered one time after the 3rd time, realized after about 5 seconds that it was a scam and hung up.  The continued to call up until about an hour ago, I looked up this site and called back pressing *67  so my number was restricted for them and hopefully took myself out of their system.  They identified themselves as VISTA card services and were offering a 120$ gas voucher that would be headed my way in a red and white envelope.  I saw on another website that this happened to someone that ordered make up from E.L.F.  I happened to do this about 3 years ago but since have a new card so thankfully they do not have my information.

Caller called me 6 times today from the same number everyone else is having problems with. I called the bf to see if he bought me something on my card lol. He claimed he didn't...and know I know he definitely did not. Thanks to all of your information posted I will be going to the bank to cancel my card. I didn't get a hold of anyone on the phone so I'm just going to request a new card. Thanks again!

Cell phone rang at about 7:30PM & I answered it wondering who would be calling me from 616-980-7365. A male voice (maybe in his 20's) responded after I had to say hello three times. He asked if I was Greg, I said Yes, This is Greg. He hung up! I Googled the phone number and read all of these comments. This is very handy to have this type of "intel" ready because, knowing ahead of time really prepares you on how to handle the Caller again. They did call back about 10 minutes later and I purposely let it ring - guess what? They did not leave any message as described in the prior reports on the webpage. Lucky for me, I also have a free service called YouMail.com that handles my cellphone voicemail instead of letting AT&T take them. On the YouMail webpage, I can enter the Caller ID Number and mark it as SPAM. That caller now gets a computer voice that says "The number you have called has been disconnected and there is no new number, please check the number and try your call again" followed by the three rising high pitch tones that the phone company emmits before repeating the same message again. It is so cool to be able to fight back when AT&T will not do anything about the scammers who burn up your cell phone minutes. Thanks to everyone who took the time to put their experiences on here - it's been very useful in quick research for those wierd phone numbers on our "Private" cell phones. -Greg

I think I might know the source, but right now it's just theoretical. Not too long ago I had a fraud charge through my debit card account and I believe that they got my info through amazon.com. After that I had closed the card. Just recently they had called back confirming my information of my closed debit card account. If you've ever made a purchase on amazon, you need to add your credit card information, address, and phone number to make the purchase (all the information the number was confirming). Amazon saves that information in your account profile to make other purchases later and it doesn't disappear unless you remove it. I think someone might have hacked amazon and stolen our info. This is just a theory but I'm putting it out there because it seems plausible, my amazon account is the only one holding my old debit card information that the number was confirming, and if several people are convinced that they have this in common, then we might have found our source. (I'm NOT saying that Amazon is a bad site, but if you do have an amazon account check to see if the info on it is the information the caller is confirming). Please post any updates!

I received a call and the caller ID said "DO NOT ANSWER" the number was 616.980.7365.  I didn't answer, I looked the number up and found this blog.  I have METRO PCS - I'm assuming they must have the number listed as a scam.

The past 3 days I've received numerous calls from 3 different numbers in MI. On 11/17,  616-980-7365 called me twice; I didn't answer and they left no messages. On 11/18,  231-732-2737 called me FIVE TIMES. I tried to answer the last time, but missed it so I called back. I got a recording about "order confirmation." On 11/19, 517-933-2016 called me three times. I answered the 3rd call and spoke with someone who identified himself as "Tim" with "Card Member Services." He referred to me by name and said it was regarding Mastercard ending with XXXX (he gave me the last 4 digits of my card). He said they were going to send me $120 in gas certificates in a red & white envelope to my address. As he was stating my address, I interrupted him and told him to remove my information from their database. It's only been 30 minutes so we'll see if I get more calls. I'm planning to report this to my bank and possibly the police as well.

Received a call from 616-980-7365 this evening with alot of noice in the background (and a missed call from same # this morning). Guy had the last 4 of my M/C and wanted to verify my address because I had won a years worth of free gasoline (lol, ya, right!).  Of course, it was the usual "just pay $2.95 for shipping" of the gasoline vouchers. When I kept asking him for more information as to how he received my information, he said he couldn't tell me that nor could he tell me which "merchant" I shopped at. When I asked who he was with he said "Vista Marketing". I googled that company & it does exist but it obviously has nothing to do with these jerks. Thank goodness the credit card they asked about was cancelled (I changed banks) over a year ago and it was never used to purchase anything over the internet (saw another poster mention Amazon...highly doubtful Amazon was hacked since I have another card that is and has been on "file" with them).  Obviously a scam! Never, ever give out or verify any information over the phone!! :)

This number has been calling every 20 minutes or so today. Also been getting one from unknown name, unknown number. I'm going to change my answering machine message to something very generic. So far I haven't answered and they don't talk to my answering machine. This is spooky.

Called me tonight and the line was extremely noisy. The guy on the other end said I would be getting a package of some sort in the mail then asked me to verify the lsat 4 digits of my debit card. After that I was trasnferred to someone else who I told I did not want anything they were offering. He said have a nice day and hung up. I will call my bank and my state atty. general here in Texas if my card is charged anything.

I just received a call from this number 6169807365 and no message was left. I plan on blocking it as I have received calls from 2694772157 in the last 3 days over 5 times a day, so I figure they are probably related.  When I tried to answer, it took about 10 seconds then I could hear other operator type voices in background, but no one said anything. Probably solicitation! Drives me crazy! I'm on no call list, which is obviously useless!!

Who ever this company is or what they actually want is unclear. They say they have tried to reach me many times, they say they will ship my order. Since I haven't ordered anything I don't know what this is all about. I know I had better not be charged for anything.
I'm thinking another holiday scam.

DO NOT verify any of your information with this company!  By the time they reach you they already have the last 4 digits of your credit card number.  Make sure that you call your bank and get the card canceled ASAP as well (if you have Chase they can send you a new one in 2 days for a $5 fee).  Call the number back and press the option to be removed from the list, wait 3 days and they will stop calling.  Don't bother with the 888 or 866 number they tell you to call because it doesn't work.

They have several bogus schemes they are doing pretending to be Visa, they say you will be getting a gas card or something then rack up charges of up to $60 per month on your account.

If you really want to get on them, call your local attorney general and file a formal complaint about them.

Other numbers they call from are: 213-732-2737 and 517-933-2016 - all somewhere outside of Detroit.

This number just called me. The woman sounded middle eastern and it was as noisy as a day care center in the background. I hung up when she asked for my entire credit card number. I checked my statement online and there was a charge put through for 30 cents yesterday with a description as "INTL SERVICE FEE". So I immediately called Wachovia to see if this was linked to the phone call I received and sure enough it was. I had made a purchase with Copyscape online for $10 and because they are an international company Visa charged me 30 cents for processing. Okay fine. But apparently, Copyscape then sold my information and they do with their entire customer list (name, address and only last 4 digits of cc #) to another company. And that's the company that called me and wanted to sell me something. Copyscape isn't the only company that does this. A lot of them do. Freecreditreport.com has thousands of complaints with the BBB for this same thing. I would say read the terms of a company before buying anything from them. Worst case scenerio, just order another card number from your cc company.

I was called by this ph #(616-980-7365), when I answered, the man in what sounded like an office environment, said "hello" and then hung up. The caller ID read "order confirmation". I called back to determine what order he was confirming. A recording answered and ask for my ph# to confirm the previous confirmation order call. When I gave my ph#, the caller said "thank you" and hung up. I suspect a scam of some sort. I called AT&T to report a possible phone scam, they were uninterested and totally useless.

Answered second call received today on my cell phone from 616-980-7365. Caller (female) called me by my first name and was talking real fast (with a lot of noise in the background) about what company she was calling from.  I had to scream on the phone to stop her and asked her to repeat the info.  It was some company I never heard of, but she said "I had recently purchased something with my Mastercard from one of their affilliates and as a result they were sending me $100 in".  I stopped her (I had to again scream on the phone) and told her "do not call me again" and hung up.  On the Internet  this number reported for Vista Card Services and typed as Scammer/Fraudster.  The number is a land-line in Grand Rapids (Kent County), MI.

I have been getting these phone calls ever since I ordered something from Circuit City. I tried not to confirm anything with the man on the phone but he was trying to tell me they were going to send $100. Home Depot card and if I wanted to keep the discount service they would charge me $24.95 a month after I recieved the Gift Card. I did hang up on him after telling him no I don't want it, but I'm assuming the damage is already done since he did have our name address phone # and last 4 digits of Visa Card. He said I am getting these calls because of an order made with my Visa online. Anyone else order from Circuit City before these phone calls started?
