HSBC has been calling me several times a day for months now.  I've tried answering the call and politely telling them I'm not interested in any additional services.  I’ve told them to stop and they don’t listen.  Somebody needs to do something about these people.

UPDATE:

Checked with HSBC hq in Deleware this week.  In fact, according to an HSBC spokesperson, ALL those numbers listed above are telemarketers HSBC contracts with.

In our case, they were repeatedly calling at illegal hours, and when questioned gave phony geographical locations.  The area code did NOT match the locations they said they were calling from.

Note:  When questioned, under federal laws: telemarketers MUST say whether they are selling something (goods, services, etc.), provide their full name (the person calling), the correct address and location from where they are calling, the correct phone number.  And if you tell them to stop calling, they must comply.  Tell them to take your number off their list, and put it on their do NOT call list for 10 years (and any affiliated companies).  They MUST comply.  Otherwise, you can sue them and HSBC in any court for $500-1500 per phone call.

I checked out HSBC further, and they have been charged with numerous cases of fraud by their customers, stealing from their customers' accounts, their employees found guilty of selling their customers' confidential info to identity thieves, not crediting payments and then charging bogus interest and service charges to customers.

HSBC routinely ignores and violates customers' privacy requests, when customers open accounts.

You can file complaints against them online or via USPS with your state's attorney general, with the FCC (federal communications commission), and FTC (federal trade commission).

From our recent experience (July-present, 2008):  they are lying crooks, who will rip you off, blatantly lie to you when confronted with the facts, sell your personal and financial confidential information to anyone in the world,
and try to cover their butts with more lies.

We caution everyone in this world:  DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH HSBC, OR ANY OF THEIR AFFILIATED COMPANIES.  IF YOU APPLY FOR A CREDIT CARD FROM A MERCHANT, OR FOR A LOAN FROM ANYONE, MAKE SURE THAT THE SERVICING COMPANY OR BANK IS NOT HSBC OR ANY OF THEIR SUBSIDIARIES.

Hope this helps someone out there from going through any similar torment as a victim of the incessant phone stalking and usurpation of our personal information and abuse of our unlisted home phone, which we have endured now for 3 months -- because of these lying, deceitful HSBC scumbags!

My husband works for the gov't so when the "Washington, DC" caller ID showed I expected it to be a business call.  NOT  When I said he wasn't home, the caller said, "NO message, we'll call back."  Very creepy and we are on the Do Not Call List, too..not that it does much good.

These guys have called 2-5 times every day for months, from early morning to evenings.
The 2 most common numbers used (from caller i.d.): 617-245-9613, and 202 747-7309.

Same story as most of the above respondents.  Same tactics used.

Strongly suspect they have breached HSBC's computer files (customer accts and consumer info), or an HSBC employee mole is feeding info to this i.d. theft and fraudulent services racket.  They're definitely into something criminal (i.d. theft, phishing, fraudulent services, blatant criminal harassment, interstate commerce fraud).

Some of their phone numbers are fakes, and others that work hide their real geographical location.

I hope they end up in prison -- soon.   I'm contacting the feds.

A rep calls and asks to speak to my husband - when asked what the call is in reference to, the rep immediately rattles on about how by law they can only speak to the person on the account...this has happened about 5x in the past week.  And we don't even have an account this group...who are they and why the hard line??

Tries to contact me probably 10 times a day.  I ALWAYS make my payment early and for a lot more than the minimum amount due.  This is the last loan I ever take out with HSBC.  CONSTANT HARASSMENT!

This is about a Polaris Account, even if the account is in good standing or paid off, they call you and try to sell you more services.  You call them, and you get transferred to different departments, to India and back, and it no avail.

I attempted to block any and all of the numbers and Verizon's message states that you cannot block it because it is either a multiparty line or a private business.  In other words, private businesses have rights, but private citizens do not!?  They harrass me all dang day.  What can we do?  Where are our rights?

I am receiving these calls nonstop from the same numbers listed above...ALL OF THEM several times a day.  None of my cards or accounts are past due.  They will not leave a message on the machine and they have a way of hanging up just before the voice mail picks up causing a loud dial tone throughout the house.  RUDE!!!  You would think if it was important enough for them to call so many times that they would at least want to leave a message.

We had HSBC call all today yesterday and each time they called they used a different number.  I finally answered it after 9pm, which I believe is against FCC regulations for a telemarketer to call after 9pm.  They asked for my wife and said she was unavailable and would not leave a message or who they were with.  I find that to be rude.  Here are the numbers they called from to us yesterday:

Number: (773) 922-5409 City: Chicago State: IL
Number: (231) 732-2866 City: Morley State: MI
Number: (616) 980-2085 City: Grand Rapids State: MI
Number: (231) 732-2865 City: Morley State: MI
Number: (617) 245-9613 City: Cambridge State: MA
Number: (917) 210-4603 City: New York State: NY
Number: (202) 747-7309 City: Washington State: DC

Keep calling my work number. Don't have any accounts with HSBC. Call later in the evening long after I am gone. Average about 4 per week, sometimes as high as 6. Caller ID shows all numbers listed above. And my desk number is on the do-not-call list.

I know a second comment, but I deceided to see what would happen if I called the number back and it is HSBC, but it is their telemarketing department, and they give you the option of having your number removed from their calling list. We will see if it really is removed.

HSBC Card SRVS

Number: (773) 922-5409 City: Chicago State: IL
Number: (231) 732-2866 City: Morley State: MI
Number: (616) 980-2085 City: Grand Rapids State: MI
Number: (231) 732-2865 City: Morley State: MI
Number: (617) 245-9613 City: Cambridge State: MA
Number: (917) 210-4603 City: New York State: NY
Number: (202) 747-7309 City: Washington State: DC

Shows up as HSBC Card Srvs. Credit card company says that this is not them. They also use 231-732-2866, 616-980-2085, 231-732-2865, 617-245-9613, 917-210-4603,

202-747-7309. Obviously it is not against the law to make false claims about who you are. Household bank card is not represented by any of these numbers. When will the

legal system step in and stop this kind of harrassment. I block a number and BANG they are right back with a new one.
