6 days later (from my post above) and the number called again today. My wife answered, and just silence on other end.

As far as the chimney cleaning goes, it's funny, I decided long ago to treat solicitors with respect. After all, I figure they are folk trying to earn a living in a tough economy. Yet, for the last few years, that kindness is rarely returned. "Oh, thanks for the call but we just had it cleaned" CLICK. Would it be so tough to just reply "have a nice day" or "thanks for letting me know" ?

Received a call from this number offering half-off chimney/furnace cleaning and referenced my street by name.

The technology exists to fix this, but Government isn't forcing it. This number 617-339-0000 hits a recording "not in service." This implies the number is spoofed. In my opinion, caller ID should have 3 choices - display an accurate number, show 'private/blocked,' or a call from law enforcement should permit a spoofed number.

When I call my local Telco to complain, they advise there's nothing they can do to track these calls. So "do not call" list becomes meaningless.

I have gotten many calls from this number. I do not answer it but they keep on calling.  When is someone going to take care of these calls.  I am on the national do not call list, and I still get at least 5 calls per day

This number calls my house daily. They do not leave messages and when I call it back it says "the number you have dialed in not in service". I need this to STOP!!!!!!!

Samething, the person never say anything and keeps calling twice a day

Didn't pick up. No message left. Have received 1-3 calls per week this month.

My phone company allows to block numbers but this number does not even show up to block.  I was thinking that there was too many on my list but I saw numbers on it that came in after.  I think I am going to call them directly to block it.

Comcast really should add more than 12 numbers we can block. Like 12 is great, but my cell phone can block unlimited numbers will the Call Control App.

I think we get constant calls from this number, also.  Usually all the phone says is "Massachussetts", a number is not always showing and no one is on the line.  THIS time - 8/23/2012 - I actually heard a man's voice say a strange "hello" but then just heard some weird noise and I hung up.  Reverse look-up sites say it's a pager type of call and if you redial it it tells you the number is not in service.  It originates in Cambridge, Mass.  617-339-0000 is the # and it's Verizon land line, from what I could locate.

Same as the rest, this number calls my home phone 1 or 2 times per day every weekday.

Just got another call from them.  This is the first time we answered and asked for me by name said was not here can I take a message and he just coughed and hung up

We receive calls from this number daily.  They just called again.  Heavy breathing and then they hang up.  Tried calling back, says the number is not in service.

I got a call both yesterday and today from this number and all I hear is nothing.  Cannot call back to this number and cannot text...says invalid number.

I just got this  call, I picked up and a woman's voice said something like " I have done all my sh**t already "......I asked who that was but no answer,and evntualy she hung up, weird.

I have had several calls from this number with heavy breathing.  Creepy!  The caller ID just says Massachusetts.
