I received a call from them, but the ID said Investor GRP SVC. It is a SCAM. DO NOT answer them. They say it is CARD SERVICES and will lower your credit card. I never told them to call me.

Not much I can say that hasn't already been said. I first started receiving calls from 609-227-4849. At first I would just hang up but I got sick of it, so one time I waited to talk to a real person. As soon as I said I would like my name removed from the list, the caller hung up. Trying to call back, it's just busy. Tried this twice - same result. Now I get the calls from 617-371-4000. But with this one, if I wait on the line, nothing happens. It's really just an annoyance but it seems that somehow somewhere these should be able to be stopped.
As I'm typing this, I'm wondering if this site is monitored by the same company that's making the calls???

If you want to stop these calls then you need to dry up their revenue source. Your phone company is charging you a fee for caller ID which you need to tell if it is one of these scammers. Your phone company pays the scammer for sending the caller ID information. They pay only a fraction of a cent per call and you pay $5 to $15 to your phone company. The scammers send out millions of calls per day which amounts to a significant amount of money.
In order to stop this we need legislation making it illegal to charge for caller ID. If a phone service wishes to operate it would need to provide the caller ID at no charge as part of the service. Here is the $50,000 solution that the FCC is looking for and it doesn't cost anything.
Here is an excellent blog site that I found that explains how one company is getting away with this activity.

They didn't leave a message, when I tried to call it back, it was busy. Probably a scam.

I have recieved calls on my cell phone for months. They appear with just about every state name, trying to lower my credit card rates. I have asked for them to remove my number, each time they have hung up. One time the guy told me to wait, I did for 5 min and he came back ony to smart off "you're still here? I thought you would have hung up by now. I tell you what for your persistance I'll remove it." well that was a lie. I am a call center manager and this is in direct violation of the fcc laws.

This phone number is being spoofed, it is not the number of the actual caller. You can get more information here: http://www.fcc.gov/guides/caller-id-and-spoofing
If you call this number back you are harassing an innocent person or company.

I received 2 calls within 2 days on my cell phone. I wasn't able to answer the call at the time and there was no message. When I tried to call it back on my home phone it just rang. no answer

It's extremely difficult for me to get to the phone because both legs have been amputated but when I answere no one is there. I think it has something to do with Card Services and my final opportunity to reduce my credit card debt. What I would give to just have one leg to kick somebody's a**.

What To Do When You Get an Illegal Robocall; http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/microsites/robocalls
1. Hang Up. Do not press 1 or any other numbers to get off the list.
2. Consider blocking the number
3. Report it at http://www.fcc.gov/complaints
4. Report it at https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov
Register your phone numbers online at http://www.donotcall.gov or call (888) 382-1222 (must call from # you want removed).
When I receive a call from a new number I put it in my contacts list under Scum Suckers and assign it NO ring tone so at least after the first call they don't bother me anymore (I have filled all of the numbers in each and am up to Scum Sucker 47 now). Some phone companies will allow you to block a limited amount of numbers, however this is only a whack-a-mole solution but the only one I can offer.

The were calling using a different number but I blocked that number. They have now switched to this number. If you say you want to talk with a representative press 1. If you press 1 the call just ends. I would like to stop this but don't know how.

I have tried a couple of times to get them to stop calling but have had no luck.
| CALLER ID SPOOFING 2012-10-19 11:17:35 Unknown |
***Please be aware*** THIS IS A CALLER ID SPOOFING ISSUE. The number on Caller ID, 6173714000, is not the true number calling you. It is important to work with YOUR phone carrier to determine the true originating information on the calls.

Company calls me multiple times a week asking me if I want to lower my interest rates on my credit card. Everytime I ask them to stop calling me they hang up immediately.
