I've gotten two calls from this number over the past week. I also saw the Nutcracker this year.

Hey folks...as somebody who has worked in the performing art world my entire adult career, I can tell you that this is NOT illegal, and it is a very necesarry part of the work that non-profit arts organizations do in Boston and any other major city...If anybody has not been reading the paper for the past several years, non-profit arts organizations and cultural institutions have been hit the hardest since 9/11/01 and the reccesion that we have been experiencing in recent years.

They are most likely calling to offer you discounted rates on subscriptions , or maybe to ask for a donation to help support the organization during such a difficult period in our nations history.  If you dont want them to call you, you have to PICK UP YOUR PHONE and kindly tell them to place you on the Do Not call list internally (remember Non-profits are exempt from the National DO NOt Call Registry).  

They called me too....And what did I do? I supported them by buying a ballet subscription for myself and my daughter...As an early Xmas gift. I only paid $200 (and they threw in FREE PARKING at the Wang Theatre and now we will be able to go out together every few months together and support & enjoy one of the finest cultural institutions we are so lucky to have here in Boston.  BTW- I also gave them a $25 donation, b/c the young dancer that I spoke with (Julia) was so sweet.  

The general number that showed up on my caller ID was (617) 456-6222..  But the number to their office is actually (617) 456-6350, this is where they work out of..  Cheers!

I saw the Nutcracker in Boston this year too. They didn't leave a message. It's very annoying

Yeah, it's the Boston Ballet. Funny thing is that no where on their website is this # listed. Very annoying that they just hang up and don't leave a message. Went to The Nutcracker and Romeo & Juliet this year. Disappointed that they do this. I just tried to email them to remove me from their call list but the email is undergoing "maintenance". Interesting.....

i actually answered, they are offering a discounted season subscription to the upcoming ballet season, got a call on 5/6 and told them to call back later, so they called again today (5/8 - i was at my phone)

They are just calling to see if you want to donate to the ballet. It is not illegal unless you opt out of their call list

I saw the Nutcracker as well.  And just missed a call from this number with no voicemail.  Isn't this illegal?

Got two calls, no voicemail in the past 2 days.

I did see the Nutcracker this season so that must be it.

Received a hang-up call at 8PM from Boston Ballet.  I'm guessing that they are conducting automated phone number scans.  Left a message for the director of marketing.

Just called this # and it was for Boston Ballet and Boston Ballet Dance Education...  previous anonymous was correct!  Maybe you saw the Nutcraker and they're fishing for patrons of the new show?  I saw the Nutcracker.  That's the only thing I can think of...
