If this is true... why are they calling my business number multiple times always outside of business hours? My phone shows 8 missed calls from them over the weekend and at night: Thurs 8:34 pm; Fri 5:04, 7:11, 8:09; Sat 1:09, 3:08, 4:42, 5:17. That doesn't seem shady at all, huh?

Then why did the caller say, We have a bad connection, we will have to call you back?" How did the called know we had a bad connection after only two words from me - "Good morning?" I herad him just fine, and there was a very swift click after that!

Must be a call center. ID was "Guideline" as others reported. however i did get a person who said they where doing a survey. I declined because the ID did not match the company they identified themselves as.

Im on the do not call list ~ I hate anon calls ~ I dont care if its a research group or what ~ I got off land line because I had 50 calls a day from such "F'g" companies!!!! I am also getting this call daily ~ its get a hint ~ if I do not answer ~ its cus I dont know you or want to talk to you!!!I have left a msg officially stating to take me off their phone list and am reporting this number to donotcall.gov

Guideline is an independent research company hired by companies who do not have the resources themselves to conduct telephone custumer satisfaction surveys.
They are not telemarketers, bill collectors, or solicitors, they are hired by YOUR company for YOUR opinion about the quality of service you feel as though you are receiving.
By not answering the phone, they automatically assume that you were busy and could not answer so they put you on a "call back" list as a courtesy to YOU to receive your feedback at a more convenient time for YOU. Your best bet is to answer and just politely say "thanks, but no thanks" if it is that much of a hassle to answer questions that would benefit you in the end. Besides if you don't you will keep getting called.
The companies you give your money to such as AmeriHealth, CareFirst, Liberty Mutual, Blue Cross/Blue Shield etc etc hire them to benefit YOU.
:) they're harmless. breathe people.
ps. what would be the point of them leaving a message to say "hello we called to ask you your opinion of the service you received from ______". If you can't answer the questions they can only proceed to keep calling.
God forbid a company want to see if their customers are benefiting from their services...sheesh...
