They have a new number now, 15166303103 Laura Linehan.After a good portion of the 'interview' i started getting suspicous so i google the position and put scam after it. This is what came up. exactly what happened to me. After i read this she sent me another IM and asked if we could proceed, i said no and she replied with why. Then i said because this is a scam and she signed off. i took a picture of it all if anyone wants to see it.

I received the same message and followed all their steps until they sent me a check that looked legit, except the words on it were blurry. The "Hiring manager's" name is M Michelle Burns and claims to be Chief Risk Officer and Hiring manager to the firm State Street Global Advisors. Red flags were every where during the process but I continued until they sent me a fake check. They wanted me to deposit the check right away and scan the deposit slip to email to them immediately after depositing. They wanted me to order equipment from their official site only.  Lol SCAM!!!!

I just received a text this morning from this number claiming to be Ms. Agnes Nora Mullady of Gamco Investors Inc. I looked online and wondered why would an Executive Officer text me for an interview instead of having someone call me. This person has my full name and states they have my resume. After, researched the number 617-586-2183 this website came up. I will be also reported this information to the authorities. FYI my resume just recently updated on CareerBuilder.

Lady reached out to me in Text.  "Ms Agnes Nora Mullady, the Principal Financial Officer and Hiring manger for the Firm GAMCO Investorys, Inc....."

I sent her a link to this site and said "Dont contact me again DO YOU UNDERSTAND"

I didnt confirm or deny that i was who she was trying to reach.  These people are SO STUPID.

I have also been contacted by Agnes Mullady.  Was asked to set up a Yahoo IM and e-mail.

I responded back saying I would only reply to a GAMCO.com e-mail and that I would call Gamco to validate her employment.  Haven't heard back.  Go Figure :-)

Just got a text toda from that number about an interview

If you have been looking for work recently, they got your information from whatever board you posted your resume on ... This is a scam artist contacting you. Trust your gut, and do not respond to them at all ...

If it seems so strange, that's because it is ... You were contacted by a scam artist ... What company name did they give you for this person?

This is the second time I have gotten text messages from this particular number. The first time it was someone pretending to Scott Powers w/State Street Advisors ... and I just got another text message from someone claiming to be Agnes Nora Mullady w/GAMCO Investors. When you search both of these names & companies, they are real, but the text you receive from this number is a SCAM ... BEWARE do not answer them at all ...The following is what they say in the text message they send out ...

"I am (insert whatever name they say), The Principal Financial Officer and Hiring manager to the firm (insert firm name here).We wish to inform you that your resume has been reviewed by the appropriate department.You have been selected for an interview with me."

If you respond back to them, they will tell you to set up an account using Yahoo! Messenger & to add them to your buddy list. They further tell you to let them know as soon as you are online so they can do the "online interview." There are a ton of red flags once you get into the conversation with them. Do not get involved ... They will tell you that you are "hired," and then tell you that they will send you a check to put into your bank account so that you can use those funds to purchase your computer and other things to be used for your "at home" business. Of course, they will tell you that you have to use their vendor to do all this purchasing ... The funds come out of your account, the check bounces, and you will be left holding the bag on the entire thing ...

Best advice in this situation is "if it is too good to be true, it generally is."

They just sent me a text just about 5 min ago with my full name.... I was a victim of ID theft back in August, I hope it doesn't happen again with this text.

This same thing happened to me. I thought I did my research on this company since it appears to be a real company and a real officer of the corporation.  If it wasn't for my bank stating that the cashier check they sent me looked fake I would have followed through with it.  Fortunately, they only have the information that is available online.  They had to have gotten my information from CalJobs (unemployment office) because that is the only place my resume is posted.   This is too scary.  What can we do to stop this.

I received this too. I actually did the interview over yahoo. I am extremely nervous they may have hacked into my computer or will be able to access my information. Usually I am not this stupid and don't fall for this. They have my address and the bank I am with.  Any suggestions for me or what I should do.

I got the same as all of you guys, but it seems so real, I actually spoke to James Larry over the phone to voice verify. but looking at all this i am skeptical. How far along the process did you guys get?

I received a similar text message from a person named Ms. Agnes Nora Mullad. Principal financial officers from Gamco Investors. Scam alert!!!

I just receive the same text message. They are scam.

What can been done....one person above said they got ahold of the FBI.

This person also texted me saying the same thing.  Luckily I found this forum before giving out anything more personal that hasn't been posted up online.  Thank you all for sharing that this number was a scam.  

Received a message from 6175862183, the person identified as Mrs. Dame Amelia c. Fawcett, The Hiring Manager to the firm State Street Global Advisors, requesting an online interview via yahoo IM. The Yahoo IM ID: fawcettd15... The person asked random questions throughout the whole interview, such as strengths, weaknesses, then started asking what bank I use and how I want to get paid, then started asking for my address, full name, and phone number.. I started to get suspicious and asked for additional questions.. such as let me call her directly and speak with her.. the person then signed off abruptly...
Please be careful.

I just got a text message from this number about an interview. A woman by the name of Mrs. Dame Amelia C. Fawcett claimed to be a hiring manager for State Street Global Advisors. She told me she had received my resume and it is being reviewed by the appropriate department. Yes this is definitely a scam. I don't care our technological savvy companies get, I don't think they would ever use text messaging as a means to schedule interviews with potential employees. Seriously.

her email should be from state street, not yahoo, and an interview takes place at an office, definitely a scam

By the way, I just contacted FBI Scams department with all of that person's information because I'm basically playing the game :)

I received a text message from Alison Quirk with a job offer. I went through the process and I know it's a SCAM, this person is also using the alison_quick@yahoo.com
