From what I've read from another site, these guys illegally harvested a bunch of phone records from SS and are now making their calls.  I would trust them about as far as I could throw them.
As far as collecting a paycheck and SS benefits, they will deduct what you make from your SS disability.  They're not going to give you support money and let you make money on the side at the same time....

Instead of calling out, why don't they send out LETTER?  Most of us don't like getting acall from organizations.  Send us a LETTER!

No. While receiving disability payments, you're allowed to earn up to $1050/month. Anything more than that, Social Security takes money away. I'm not sure if it eliminates your payment entirely, or if they take a percentage based on how much more you earn.

They are a SCAM ,read the people that tried to use it
they wanted me to travel to a ssa office that's 5 hours away, take tests
I can't afford to spend 3 nights in a motel and take a train for 10 hours
there and back and use taxi service to get around would cost a fortune, nti

I got a call and it piqued my interest. I've read 3 pages of complaints that NTI may be a scam and how did they get your number. How do the insurance sales co. get your number. It's out there, deal with it.Your complaints and criticisms sound like bitter skeptics. Only several people have followed through with the application process and are successfully employed. Why don't you research Ticket to Work and contact SS if you're skeptical. If it were a scam they would be asking you for money and to pay for the training. If they get their money from the gov't, more power to them -- we're not. You don't believe the success stories. but you haven't checked it out. I doubt you have too much to do. I am in a position where I need a job badly so I will do the research to find out about NTI and the Ticket to work  program. I believe the one woman was right, they hire us out to companies who don't have to pay our benefits  and SS lets us make money and prepare to go back to work, but we can resume SSD at any time. Get busy and stop the complaints, it it's a scam they will show themselves and get caught. What if it's a great opportunity that you're going to miss out on?

i received a call from nti today, have been disabled for abt 10yrs. i have never registered with any state agency regarding employment of disabled; as far as i knew no one knows i am disabled but the ss office, the state/county dhs, and my friends and family. none of my friends or family would give out any info abt my health to anyone, so the only thing i can figure is the state is selling lists of disabled/ss recipients to these companies. or possibly a doctor either got hacked/sold his info for that purpose. any way things are, i went to their website nticentral.org and there is absolutely no connection between them and the federal ss/disability offices posted on their site. one positive response here out of a dozen. i dont trust it, no thanks.

One more link for everyone.  Someone here said they wanted to see a link from ssa.gov.  well here you go.  This is from social security's website.  If you go to their site and type in ticket to work program in the search bar, you get this page.

http://www.socialsecurity.gov/work/

That page leads you to the choosework.net link that I provided in my last post.  Ticket to work site.  The workers that you spoke with probably didn't know about NTI because they are not ticket to work workers.  Just because they work for social security doesn't mean they will know the name of every single member of the ticket to work network.  There are hundreds.  The ticket to work program even has a separate phone number from social security.  They are Maximus.  I called social security interested in the ticket to work program, they had me call Maximus who then told me to go to their website which was choosework.net and find providers in my area and start applying.  I already had my ticket to work and didn't realize it.  So if you are getting phone calls, maybe you or someone in your home has a ticket to work through social security and just don't realize it.  I hope this has helped some people to realize you are not being scammed.  It's a good program and I really hope to be working from home soon myself...Good luck.

PS.  They wouldn't call you unless their was a reason.  I submitted an application and my resume yesterday to sign up with them through the Ticket To Work Program so I can work from home.  That's why they called me...

They are too affiliated.  This is Social Security's Ticket To Work Program's website and NTI is an approved Provider.

http://choosework.net/  (Social Security's Ticket To Work Program Website)

http://choosework.net/resource/jsp/SearchByStateAction.jsp   (This is the list for my area in NY and NTI is on the list!)

You don't believe this is a social security website?  Call social security and ask them for a link to their ticket to work program website....

@ Intelligence much:

As noted from previous respondents here, several people have called their SS case worker and have been told that it's not affiliated with SS or endorsed by them.
Anyone can register a .org address. There's no verification involved that an organization with such a TLD is reputable, trustworthy, or even exists.
The Yahoo! article links to a blog, not an editorial. You, I, or any Yahoo! member could create content on there and have it published in exactly the same manner under the same domain. Just because it's hosted on a Yahoo! server doesn't lend the article any credibility whatsoever. It's just like any of the other millions of blog sites on the net, anyone can post what they wish.
I look forward to your providing additional links from your ongoing research to a review of this company, however until you can post one that begins with http://www.ssa.gov, people will rightly remain skeptical of cold callers - or, making this easy for you - any .gov TLD address referencing this company as an accredited/authorized partner.
Your rant smacks of shilling. Fortunately, it contains so many holes and inaccuracies that it's easy to pick out from a mile away.
D+ for effort. Must do better.

My God you people are so naive and paranoid. Any company with a .org is a  non-profit company by gov't standards. If you are unlisted and on the "Do Not Call" list then where would they get your number? From Social Security obviously. Now I'm all for checking things out and being weary but come on, why would you call it a scam with such conviction when you know next to nothing about it? Do your research people, call your local SSI branch and ask them as well as the Ticket to Work counselor. I'm sure they can validate this company's status. I just got this call for the first time today and came here to do MY research only to find a bunch of paranoid, naive, uneducated people (and I use this term loosely) ready to go on a witch hunt after a company that's trying to help you all find some semblance of independence and additional income. The man that started this company wanted to put an end to poverty for God's sake!! How ungrateful can you people be???? You should be ASHAMED OF YOURSELVES!!! It makes me want to be ashamed of being an American and of being someone that's disabled. This kind of behavior gives the rest of us a bad name. Please, please...learn from this, try to better yourselves and live the American Dream that the rest of the world so desperately desires. I still have faith in the basic goodness of humanity and the melting pot that is The United States of America, I am proud to be here, you should be too.

Obviously, this is not meant for those that were asking questions or those that were trying to get the truth out there, only those who fit the bill.

How did they get my number?  Our number is unlisted and is in the Do Not Call directory.   Why would we want to work for some company that claims they got our number from Social Security's disability agency, when the person they were interested in contacting is retirement age???  And how did they get our number?

This is the legitimate site for NTI:

http://nticentral.org/

Again, they are NOT a scam. They are a legitimate company that assists those with disabilities in finding a job that they can do from home.

I am working with them again in an attempt to find a work at home job, and yes, the IRS does contract out to them to find individuals to work for them.

NTI is not a scam!

NTI is NOT a scam! They helped me find a work at home job 5 years ago that I held for 3 years until the company I worked for let me go for no reason at all. NTI had no say in the matter. They are a legit company that I was informed about through my vocational rehab counselor. People on SSD are eligible to work up to 20 hours per week without it affecting their benefits. Everyone that I worked with at that job was disabled.
