this number sent me a text message saying they are the city of boston credit union and they have deactivated my card. they left this number for me to call and have it activated. no thank you, I don't have a card from any such institution if it even exists.

Got same text.  Called the phone number to see who answered.  Just disconnects after one ring.  Definitely spam.

got the same call on 5/6/09 at 7:32 PM.  It said that they left voicemails for several days

Got this spam text message:

CP CU Alert: Your CARD has been DEACTIVATED.
Please contact us at 617-938-3578 to REACTIVATE your CARD.

This is definitely a fradulent attempt for identity theft.

Blocked my phone number and tried calling the phone number...rings once and silence

Got the same text today (May 7, 2009) at 6:55pm.  Thanks everyone who posted before.  I'm not gonna call them.  I will call the Credit Union first thing in the morning.

I've received this text at least twice now. The last one just came in. And since I don't have a texting plan on my phone, I get charged, every time I receive one!!

"City of Boston Credit Union Alert: Your card has been deactivated. Pleae call 617-938-3578 to reactivate card."

My phone won't let me block incoming calls or text. Please post if anyone knows how to stop this. Thanks.

out of curiosity I looked up the city of boston credit union on google, right on thier front page they have an alert about these texts, this number is not thiers and has no association with them

Got same text message:

Cambridge Portugese CU
Your card has been deactivated, call to reactivate
