No message left!

800Link ID called our landline phone twice on 8-25-11 and again this morning on 8-26-11. I didn't answer the first two calls, but I did answer today and got a recorded message about credit card service and instruction to dail 1, at which point I hung up.

I answered and went through the menu pressing "1" to speak with the callers.  I asked how they got my number at which point he guy hung up promptly.  I called number back and am informed by recording that the number is being spoofed illegally by some other individual(s), that they have been reported to FTC/FCC and that if you have received a call form them to follow up with a report to them as well.  I have filed the complaint and confirmed that I was on do not call registry.  If you get a call from them, I would do the same.

Received cell phone call from this number.  No one there when I answered the call.

I have received two calls from this telephone number, which are unsolicited calls.  Please try to get these types of calls stopped.

The pre-recorded greeting says that this is an attempt to lower your credit card interest rate and several reminders have been sent to your home address. This is your last chance to reduce your current interest rate before your file is closed. Click 1 to speak to a representative.
When I clicked 1, a man came on and asked me what's the highest interest rate I am paying.

I told the man that I am again requesting to be removed from their call list.  He told me, "this is your lucky day, I will be sure to remove your number".

I have been receiving many calls such as this and have added the numbers to the do not call list.

Same as "DJ" above, I just got a call from 800 LINK, phone 618-355-1148 stating it was a card service and that they had mailed letters to me about my account and this would be my last notice.  It went on to say if I had over a $3,000.00 balance on all of my cards, with at least 1 card in good standing, they could help.  Pressed "1" to speak to an agent....he said "hello"...I said "don't call me, I'm on the Do Not Call......"<click> he slammed the phone down in my ear.

Called the FTC just now at 1-877-382-4357, and a very nice Vanessa gladly took all of the information and will file the complaint.  She also had the phone number for my State Attorney General's office right at her fingertips.

If these Toads call you, report them to the FTC.....more complaints should get faster action.

We also receive multiple calls, same message, from different phone numbers and get hung up on whenever I ask a live person to remove our number from the list.  

The last "person" with whom I spoke had the audacity to blame me for answering the call!  She said they would stop calling if I just hung up the phone--not true as we get the same scripted call at least once a week.  And we get the same message on the answering machine week after week when we don't answer the phone.  It's been our "last chance" to lower our interest rate for at least two years now.

We have been getting these calls.We got another call today at 509 pm.We thought it was another tactic a debt collector we owe money to on a cc and have been paying monthly,to harass us.They are out of twinsburg,ohio.

We reported them to the fcc again and also are having an attorney look into it from legal aid,from the nasty grams we got in the mail.

All your posts sound like the calls I have been getting.  My bet is yours started with recorded calls from someone named "Rachael"

I reported this to the Federal Do Not Call List and then looked at their Media releases. Apparently the FCC has taken action against these companies. So the companies must be trying to try to do it a different way. Take a look at this link from the FCC. I will sound familiar to you and let you know what these scammers were doing to people.

kept calling to lower interest rate

got this called yesterday, is recorded message about lowering the interest rat of the credit card, and blah......, press 1 to talk to reprentative, which i did, as soon as i ask who are they, they hung up on me, and got the called again, they don't even bother to talk , just hung up on me again, stop calling, how to stop tihi scam, stupid idiot people stop calling me.

This company call always says "This is your last chance to save on your credit card interest" Can not get this company to stop call, have asked that they do not call us, as we are on the do not call list, they call up to 5 times a day under different phone numbers, they are totally harrassing us.  I am also going to report these people to the attorney general.. This is so ridiculous!

I got the same call and when I said no about reducing credit card issues and asked who they were they hung up... also tried to call back to give them a piece of my mind it was a constant busy or the number is not available.
Who are these people as they were very threate;ning... if they'd called someone in trouble or an eldery person ... this is so wrong.

regarding lowering the interest on my credit card (s).    Told the person who came on line the the prerecorded message was manure.  They hung up on me!!  (Imagine that)

I knew it was a scam - a repeat call scam.

So I pressed [1] as requested and got a representative.

I asked the representative his company name and he hung up.

Got a call stating it was from my card service and said they had mailed letters to me about my account and this would be my last notice then they stated if I had a $3,000.00 balance on my card they could help, that is when I knew the call was fake 800link 618 355 1148 if you get a call report it to the police

Called several times in the past couple of days, no message, busy signal when I called back.  Blocking them now -- I love my Earthlink phone service!

ID said 800LINK. Never answer junk calls!

Called at 7:05PM tonight.  I picked up and it was dead air - maybe they hung up.

This call came 30min after getting a call from 772-224-3390 ("FLORIDA" on Caller ID) about lowering my credit card interest rates.  They might be related.

I have Comcast and you can turn on call screening and block up to 12 numbers. Not sure about Verizon. This number has shown up on my caller ID frequently so I blocked it.

They are pushing some kind of credit consolidation.  When I pressed "1" to talk with some one about taking my phone number off of their call list, they hung up on me.  Sleezy.......

Called the Belleville office. Lady said they have received many complaints about this number. That there service is like ATT they just provide 800 numbers. That somebody is pirating there service lines. She told me to call my phone provider and ask them to search the location of the call. That's the only way to figure out who's calling. I'm not the one who lost control of my line.
