Keep getting calls from this number which is some type of home remodeling nonsense. Since the Caller ID only says CALIFORNIA it's probably not on the up and up, so the number is now blocked.

We've received three calls from suspicious number. I thought the California Design Center went out of business in 2010, so how can they being calling now unless it's some type of scam? Very bizarre!!!

I receive these calls fairly frequently. Twice now, I have picked up. Definitely folks using a call center - you get that delay and can hear things in the background, as noted above. The first time, I had the whole California Design Center spiel. I kept saying I was not interested and eventually just hung up. Just received a second call, asking for me by name (using a name no one who knows me calls me, btw). I said this is me. He asked me again if I am the owner of the home on the street where I reside. When I told him yes asked him what he wanted, he just repeated the question. I repeated my answer, and he then said "you're funny" and hung up.

Have received at least three calls from this pest. Seems to be some type of fake "interior decorator" scam looking for financial information to be used for some type of credit card fraud. I'm adding this number to my permanent block list.

Steve, as you most assuredly have determined by now, the number that appears in your caller ID is a spoofed number. They use either an 800 number (to give the false impression of a valid business) or a local number (to create the equally false impression you are dealing with a local contractor.)

My most recent encounter with these scum bags, occurred this morning when a dumber than dirt female called, identifying herself only as "California Design." I could hear boiler room (aka call center) noise in the background and, based on her awkward speech pattern, she might have had someone there coaching her. In any event, I asked for their phone number (part of the information a caller is required to provide.) Instead of providing this required information, she continued on with her spiel. When I asked a second time for the phone number, she simply grunted "uh huh" and disconnected. I will be filing a complaint with the FCC for violation of the Do Not Call list ... after I have had some fun with these fools.

Lady had either an Australian or British accent, called my cell phone, I said I can take a message and she said she would call the home owner later......telemarketing which they should not be doing to cell phones.

Called the number back, get a recording the number is not in service.

The lady said her name is Cindy and asked for me.  However, she called on my wife's cell phone.  She claimed to be from the California Design Center.  I called the numer and got the recording that the number is not in service.

Left no message. Caller ID was simply "CALIFORNIA." Suspect this is a fraud and scam operation calling random numbers in the hopes of ripping off someone. 619-242-5151 now blocked.

Me too! I said hello like 4 times and it just hung up. When I call it back it says this number is not in service?!?!? Do you have an account with MCM or Midland Credit Management by chance?
