no answer just crackling

Asked For My Parents Directly.  I live in Pennsylvania.

Said my name and asked for my parents. I explained that they were not home, and repeated myself when no one answered. There was still no answer so I hung up. I also noticed that there was a missed calls by the same number from a week before. (Also from Pennsylvania)

They called and asked for my parents, after that they said nothing else.
Eventually they hung up. I tried to call
the number back with my cell phone and blocked my number, I did not hear a
ring but instead it sounded like I was trying to call a fax machine. I have not
heard from them since.
