Ive recieved payday loans in may 2011 they said I got the loan in november 2010 I said b***s*** they have all my info and I've been called by area code 347 as well I've contacted the police its just a scam you can cus at these morons and they can't do a damn thing about it dont worry its all fake they can't do anything to you now when they call I laugh at them it pisses them off sooooo bad but it always makes me feel better

It is not just this number. Everyday I have these people calling my cell and work from different phone numbers. They even called and threatened by friend. I was told there was not much that can be done because they are actually calling from over seas but have a way to use California phone numbers. If anyone has found away to make them stop please let me know. Thank you

I had a phone call stating I had three charges i didnt understand the first two but the last one was fraud when i asked them what they were taliking about they said i wasnt letting them finish the sheirifs would be contacting me monday.. One of my older friends got a call on tuesday saying i put him down as a refrince and owe them 900 and if i dont pay he is held responisble.. i never borrowed money from anyone. i call back today tuesday there voicemail box is full and wont resive anymore messages...

These scammers called my place of work and told me this is the second and last time that they are gonig to contact me before repossessing my house.  The stupid thing is that I do not own a house, I rent so how can the repossess what is not mind and not theirs to take.

Anyways, these people are scammers.  Do not give away personal financial information.

One of our members got a call. Caller( no accent) threatened her with prosecutions of theft, theft by deception and used the caller name of Attorney Jake Watson from this same phone number. I'm just concerned about the previous posting of being unable to report this unless it's a $100,000 loss or potential loss. Same old, same old: "Catch the mice and the Elephants are running wild".

this scammer actually tried to charge my account 50.00 dollars and said I recieved  a payday loan i was gona be persucted in my state. and there is fabricated check on my account!!!!!

Sandra Williams left a message. The message was unintelligible due to her thick accent. When the call was returned a VM message came on that said the mailbox was full.

I got a call from this number and I'm worried because the man knows all of my personal information. He know's my place of employment and my roomates names. He is a scammer so don't give any information.

i recieved a phone call from this # they threatened me with all sorts of things from some "payday loan" from cash advance, i have not been owrking due to inury, without a job, no loan. i called the police and this is a KNOWN scam # do not call them  back. The scary part is they know my name and my bank name. i have to change everything now

Hi,  Same thing with me - I reached out to the Michigan Attorney Generals Office for help - This so called "Law Firm" is not a law firm... They are now disconnecting calls on me that I make to them.  They left a message at my office as well.  I think they must have gotten my name from a loan application..Scary stuff.  As you, I have no outstanding/deliquent Pay Day loans.......  I think I am going to have fun with this- bring them to their knees if at all possible........My bank has been notified as well.   They opened a new account for me.

The Consumers Protection Division is investigating the number. It has been claifed that they are not a law firm.....The State Bar has no listing of that number in their files via the State of California.

I got a call saying I was going to be picked up by the police at my place of work for a payday loan that has been paid. The caller would only tell me that the lawsuit was from cash advance but would not supply me with a number to call someone from that company. I tried finding the number for that company through there web site, but non is listed.

I received a threatening message this morning from this number from some woman said that if I didn't return the phone call that she feels sorry for me and that she was calling from some law firm, I was so mad I don't remember the name of the so called Law Firm but she had an extremely heavy accent and I could barely understand what she was saying so I called the number back and the man that answered the phone said Ashly went to the court house and when I asked what this was regarding he said they did not want to hear from me but wanted to hear from my attorney and then hung up in my face. When I called back and asked him what this was about he said you just sit there and hung up in my face again and when I tried calling back he just kept hanging up in my face!! This is so crazy and there should be some law against this type of harrassment!!! He too had a very heavy accent!

told me i wrote a fraduelent check .also called me at work .and it sends you in a panic cause your in work .these a**holes left me a message on works answering machine by the time i called back i realized what was going on and have been tormenting the hell out of them cant do nothing else so i call every couple days telling im a district attorney .the law office of ishtar and a**hole the language is so broken i had to listen to it about 6 times just to get the number .i feel bad for the people who dont catch on .

I recieve i phone call from these people sayn that i owe them 921.00 dollars i see its a scam now they change there number but be the same person calling all the time he change his frist name but always use the same last name of watson.

I received a message from this number this morning.  The caller who had a very thick accent, went on for a minute and thirty seconds claiming if I did not return his call "I would be sorry."

I got a call from this number, and he said he was from "the law offices of john morrison", and that I needed to call back tomorrow because the offices were closed for the evening.  he said I had numerous violations posted against my social security number, and asked if I was aware of this.  I told him no I wasn't, so he gave me this 619 number to call.  now, I'm not easily taken by these people, so I researched the number and found this posting.  Thank You all for posting your replies, it really helps those of us that get into the same situation!  this guy is a fake, there is no John Morrison law firm.  and if you get a call from this guy, call your local police department or FBI division immediately.  the more complaints we have on this guy, the faster he will be taken down.

They called my work and threatened to send men to my door, go to my work with papers.

I have had a string of these calls and continue to call me. I get the "prosecution" threat and say I owe this pay day loan and can't tell me dates, or anything, just last year. I am in Florida and they are supposedly calling from New York. One number I got a call on is a cell and another a "landline" from New York area, then this number now. I am going to report them to my Attorney General or find out where I need to call to report them. They can't send a bill or should I say they will not of this supposed payday loan.

I received a message from a "Ashley Smith" from John Morrison Attorneyfirm on "MEMORIAL DAY" MAY 30TH, 2011 at 7:52am, she left a message requesting me to call back. I called back and asked for Ashley Smith, I was told she was gone home for the day. It was just 7:54am.  I spoke with "Mr. Carter" I asked him what this was about. He said he wanted to read me an affidavit and for me not to interrupt. I listen to him read this affidavit, while reading he mention I took out a loan with Cash Advance. And they were pressing charges.
When he was finished reading this affidavit he said he did I have any questions. I told him I never did any Cash Advance over the Internet which I did not do.
He then told me that I had to appear in Court on June 8th, 2011 and I would receive a subpoena tomorrow stating this. I asked him what Court, he told me San Francisco Superior Court.
I typed into the browser John Morrison Attorney  and saw this posting.
The Company is a fake. Call your local police department and have this man stopped in his tracks.

The man said the message was intended for me and his name was David Johnson, though very thick accent and there were interupptions as an overseas call when he spoke. At the end, he said if I did not return his call, all he could say is he wishes me luck in what is coming forth upon me.

I did call back not knowing, as I do work in a health care medical record field and was suprised to find out that they told me I had a cashnet.com pay day loan that I did not pay. First red flag....I do not but you never know what is on your credit report, although I do because I just  did legitimate bank business.

The woman instructed me that I was going to be served a subpeona at my place of employment if I chose to try to dispute this.  Intimidating right?  I already had a clue and said I did not want this stuff to happen at work and I would pay it (with no intention of doing so). I asked her to please e-mail or fax the "affidavit" she was reading to me and she was rude and told me to stop talking. She told me I had to go to a Walmart or Walgreens to get a prepaid greendot card, upload 454.59 onto it and then, get this, fax them all the card information and and security number on the back. She then told me what to write in the letter...word for word and then fax it to them. Then she had the nerve to tell me to leave at my lunch hour to do this since i could not address this until 5p.m. (that is what I told her). Then she got nasty and said go ahead and dispute this and this would be "downloaded" to the sheriff's department.

I told my supervisor about and it and she tried to call the number and asked who the firm was and it was John Morrison Law Firm and when she asked where they were located, they hung up. She called several times and they either hung up when she asked the question and ulitmately quit answering the phone.

I called Cashnet and spoke with their compliance department and they said there is an investigation undergoing on this and apologized. I also called my local police department and filed an incident report and the sheriff concurred this is a scam and noted it as an "incident". My next step is to take it to the newspapers and friends in many states.

If you are vulnerable they will trick you, but please be cautious and notify authorities before you act on these requests.  I saved my msgs at work and my admininstrator will hear them and ultimately, I think all employees will be alerted of this.

We have to stick together to bring these people down. It is against the law to be rude and threatening when collecting a debt.

Today I received a call from a parlegal who referred me to a law firm saying i had 3 charges held against me and that they tried to take funds out of my account- I did notify my bank nut i think i should change my acct number or close my acct  they did get all my info from online loan applications but never went thru with the loan-  what do you think i should do other then conetct my bank and my credit bureaus?? any advise is appreciated thanks

I got a call from these idiots this morning tell me they were pressing charges on me for theft and fraud. First of all not paying back a payday loan is not a criminal offense these idiots dont know what they are talking about.. He mentioned a checking account that I dont have and he said I talk to the bank manager and he confirmed it was my account.. I told this SOB where to go.. They try to "settle out of court" they want to try to get $445 from you so that they wont take you to court. So please beware of these A**holes and their scam

Guy phoned today and said i had legal charges against me and to call back and ask for a Catherine Johnson. Knowing already that it was BS i called back a few hours later to see what the supposed crimes against me were. A man answered and said that i had money laundering an illegal check fraud and some other ridiculous money crimes against me. For a quick fix all i had to do was pay a certain amount of money that i could wire from my bank account and the charges would be dropped. i told him my father worked for the Federal Government,  which he does, and that i just recorded the whole conversation. he was silent and then quickly said the charges would be filed tomorrow and hung up. Why can't someone stop these people. I've been getting these same types of calls for weeks from the same type of middle eastern accent from different numbers all with some baloney story. There has to be something done about this.

Some man called my mother's home asking for me. She told them I didn't live there, he said, "are you sure?" WTF? Asked him what was this in reference to and he told her that it was a legal matter. Thank goodness for Caller ID because he told her his name was Jacob but the called ID said his name was "Azwar" So she gives me the phone number and I call and asked for Azwar. He said that there were 3 charges against me and that they were for financial fraud, identity fraud and something else. I never used their payday loans at all! He said I needed to hear what he had to say and I told him none of this was true. He said, "OK, bye" and hung up the phone. I guess he figured he wasn't going to scam me this easily. I called again and I got a voicemail, and another time he hung up on me! He left a voicemail at my job. It's a scam. Don't let them scare you.

This phone number called our home phone looking for my boyfriend. The man said he was a lawyer calling from a law firm...His name was JOHN SMITH. I laughed and handed my boyfriend the phone. they threatened him saying that he has a warrant for his arrest and he has criminal charges on him!!!! I started screaming that i was going to call the police and my very laid back bf continued to listen to this guy on the phone. He gave him the name of this woman(another generic name) to call back at the same phone # that he was calling from. THIS IS RIDICULOUS!!!! THIS MAN HAD AN ACCENT OF MIDDLE EASTERN DESCENT (NOT PROFILING-JUST STATING FACT)
