I have received a few calls from this number over the past week. The first I answered, and a man with a heavy (possibly Indian) accent told me I won a trip. I interrupted to tpleaseell him to add me to his do-not-call list, but he said they didn't have one, and tried to engage me in the trip dialogue. I hung up on him and blocked the number on our phone, but it's clear they keep trying back (the number shows up on blocked call list).

I have recieved numerous calls from 619-374-0175 in the past couple of days. I have reported the number to the Fed's on the NDNCR. They will be investigating.

Also, people can spoof Call IDs with fake numbers via VOIP, I understand (I can't confirm this), and the woman I spoke to once sounded like she was in India. If this is a criminal act coming from overseas, we're all almost SOL.

If a single one of us can tie this to a San Diego Westgate office, or could prove that these numbers are coming from Westgate, all we have to do is serve them in small claims anywhere they do business (they have a Houston office, so we could serve them in Harris County), and we can receive an automatic $500 per call, regardless of actual damages. If you don't believe me, read the actual law.

While I am of the opinion that this is NOT westgate, if it could be proven, we'd all stand to gain a sizeable monetary settlement. I'd focus on going that route rather than ruin our credibility in a court of law by committing an illegal act ourselves. This is coming from a young college student that absolutley LOVES revenge and pranks.

I've actually stopped receiving these calls after I called the 619 number back one night and they placed me on their DNC. If I could still prove it was westgate, I could get my phone records and sue. Maybe someone should play along with these calls, and get some hard copy contact, a paper trail tying westgate to this...then we'd all have hard evidence.

Just an idea. I admire your commitment to this, Texas Momma, but I think you're going about this all wrong.

I'm inclined to believe westgate about this. I spoke to a man named Aramus Charrington (call the westgate corporate offices in Florida to talk to him), who was very helpful. He said they have absolutley NO operations coming from the San Diego area (which is where the 619 area code is located), and they were not involved the with calls. He told me their lawyers were working on identifying the source of the calls. I'd advise to speak to him before you encourage harassment on people who are more than likely uninvolved.

I'd also like to point out that these type of harassment posts are illegal, and with IP tracking, Mr. Crabtree could conceivable find you and press charges.

Just a reminder. If any of us have a legitimate legal claim (Which we would, pursuant to the do not call laws, 500 dollars PER call, if we could prove these calls were coming from westgate), I'd go that route, rather than negate any monetary damages we could recover.

They seem to have our phone number so fair play to them...hehehehe I think I shall do this all day tomorrow.

I googled and turned up contact info for Westgate's Marketing Director, David Crabtree. Let's all call email and call his work and bug the crap out of him the way they bug the crap out of us!  Deal?  LOL

Yes, I too got a call from this number at 9:00pm.  Like everyone else, I have returned the call to give them hell.  I am on the "don't call" list but this didn't seem to help.  I am usually in bed by this time.  I think that the reason no one can get through to a live person is because these calls are computer generated in some way and that in some way there is a technical difficulty that they are failing to repair.  Whatever!

just got a call at 19:34pm today (3/20/07) from them.
they did not leave a message.
i called back and was referred to extension 0012.

I have been receiving repeated calls from this phone number.

I just started getting calls from this phone number today 3/14. It looks like they called 4 times so far. Once before I got home from work, nothing on the answering machine. Then 3 calls in a row right after dinner. The 1st around 7, they left a message on machine that sounds like 3 people speaking in a different language. The 2nd one I answered, said hello 3 times, but no one replied. The 3rd time I let the answering machine pick it up again, and no message again.

This website is devoted to people who have been swindled out of their hard-earned cash by David Seigle's Westgate Resorts. Cut and paste it in your browser. You will then discover the true nature of these people. Their behavior could possibly be viewed as an ongoing criminal enterprise of fraud and deceit.

A while back I, too, started to receive calls from 619-374-0175; purportedly the telemarketing department for Westgate Resorts. Same M.O. that has been detailed in the previous e-mails from other "victims" of these bizarre people. They call anywhere from 1 to 4 times per evening; sometimes they speak, sometimes they don't. Sometimes they actually try and solicit some resort business, and then again, sometimes they speak some strange gibberish into the phone and hang up. Then they call back and don't say anything. This goes on night after night. As I mentioned earlier, it is the same treatment the rest of you get.

I Googled the telephone number and I brought up three websites (including this one), read the remarks and found out who the people are that are seemingly behind this. They were identified as Westgate resorts.

I called Westgate and asked them what I had to do to get this harassment to stop. The "manager" that I spoke with informed they would stop if I bought a time-share from them. "Pay me money and I'll go away and quit bothering you. Don't pay and I'll keep on harassing you". That is the formula for extortion as defined by law. I called the local Houston FBI office and spoke to a field agent about it. She informed me that while the bureau will not go after low level extortionists like this (Your State attorney general will, however), they were in violation of certain chapters of the U.S. Criminal Code.

I called Westgate and left a message informing them that I wanted to speak to them about these violations. A woman called me at my office the next day and made all of the proper noises "we have no idea what is going on, we'll get the bottom of this, etc." She sounded very sincere. I don't recall her name - its at the office - but the owner of Westgate is a fellow named Segal. I brought her attention to these websites, which is what elicited the aforementioned remarks. She asked that I place a message on the message board - much like this one - and let the public (we victims) know that they were trying to get to the bottom of the problem. I did not have time to do it that day, but the next day when I went to pull up the site to leave the message, oddly enough, the site was no longer available. Gone. Vanished, like Kaiser Soze in the "Usual Suspects". There one minute, and then POOF! Vanished like they had never been there at all.

Now the calls have started up again, and with a "Great Vengeance and Furious Anger", too. This is getting curiouser and curiouser. Business calls me to D.C. for the next week, but I shall look into this again upon my return. Due to a somewhat chequered past life, I have certain assets that I can call upon if need be. It has not gotten that far as of yet, however. We'll take the gentlemanly route and see what we can accomplish through diplomacy first. I am reminded of what Dean Rusk once said about the peace talks in Hanoi; "End the peace conference amicably, and then send in the B-52's". Do I hear the whine of turbines warming? We'll see.

Same issue. These calls keep coming in. No one on the phone. Caller ID displays as San Diego. VERY ANNOYING!

i am getting calls on my home number and in-home office line. when i answer no one speaks and than i get a hang up. how can i stop this?

I am on both the Texas and the U.S. do not call list. At about 8:56 2-28-2007 I got a call from what sounded like a young lady who started with her sales pitch. I asked the name of the company and was told "Love Gate" I asked the address and was told 533 Haircroft Houston Texas, I asked who owned the company and was told she didn't know. I tried to explain the do not call lists and she said "sorry". Said her name was Donna Walker.

Indian woman called for room mate, Ralphy. She pried to find out who I was. Ended call saying I had a nice voice and seeming to want more info...

We get multiple calls every day from this number.  They never talk, just hang up....on my answering machine we get background noise, but no message. It is every day, 7 days a week, 10-12 times daily.

I have received at least 1 call from this number daily since the 2nd week of Feb. I googled the telephone number and found this site. At least I know what's going on. I did get 1 person, a woman (possibly Indian, I think I remember she had an accent) who told me I was being offered -- whatever it was I don't know because I hung up. The other calls have no one on the other line. I got this number from my caller ID and know not to pick up now.

I recently reported about Silverleaf Resorts and was amazed at the response that I got to it. These guys are definitely scumbags. Googling for them brings up a epinions on the second link. What about Westgate Resorts? They are on the first floor of my building with an office on the second. When I leave work at around 6:30, they are getting started with their day. I can smell the fresh baking cookies as I leave for my car and all the lower middle income people streaming in for some free food, and dreams of sitting by the pool sipping a margarita. Is this a scam? Westgate Resorts is the third largest timeshare company in the U.S. Can a company grow to this size playing it fair. Do they use the same high-pressure sales tactics that timeshares are so well known for. Watch this space as I try and find the answers."

They call repeatedly at all hours.  Very aggravating.  Received a person once who sounded indian and was trying to tell me that we won a trip.  May have been a recording.

OK, I called 800-766-8455 and talked to someone at Westgate Resorts. I told them what was going on and they said they would remove my number from their lists. As soon as I started asking another question they hung up on me. Hopefully the phone calls will stop now...Let me know if it works for you.........
