This guy keeps calling - four or five times in a row with the same lines! He doesn't even realize that he just called the same number and left the same message!

OMG, they are so rude when they call. I have yet to answer the phone but the messages wish me luck with events about to unfold. They want me or my attorney to call them. I called and got a full voice mail box. I think its a scam. Yes, Agreeing with Jimmy's post, they are all INDIAN.

They said I had taken a loan which i never did and I never paid it back and so they were gonna sue me unless I paid them 800 dollars. Thank god I looked this up because I don't usually fall for this s***, but those indian b*****ds got me good

I have received a call from the same guy twice who claimed to be a lawyer. The first time he called he was so rude to me, I hung up and called back to see if the number would allow me to call back. The second time he called he left a message on my phone and said I had a complaint against me and if I didn't respond that I could loose my job and could do jail time.  He said it was a payday loan company and I owed them $5,000.00. I pulled over on the road and immediately called a lawyer from a phone book that I keep in my car and he said it was a scam but this guy keeps calling. What do I do?

I received the first call and they left me a message. The man had claimed he was John Conner and he needed to speak with me as soon as possible. If I did not call him back then "good luck with the events that were about to unfold". He called back later and when I answered he said he was with a law firm and that they needed to discuss details of a federal case that would be tried against me in federal court Monday in California. When I kept questioning he hung up the phone. I contacted the police since obviously there is no federal case pending against me. They advised me not to answer their calls anymore. Since then they have also contacted my husbands cell leaving messages. We have only had the phone number for a little over a month. There was a 30.00 charge on my bank acct also for an application fee for a payday loan that I never applied for. I think that it is related since I have yet to receive the refund and that happened a month ago. I had just called the number that was on my bank statement by the charge demanding that they refund the money again when I received the first call from " John Conner". Has anyone else heard this scenario?

Huge scammers!!!!  Yesterday he was Jack Dawson and today who know who he is.  He left me two voicemails this morning threatening me.  First of all if there were pending criminal anything against you they wouldn't hire someone like this to call you and warn you first...duh.  if you take out a loan and don't pay it back it simply goes on your credit or collections and they can get a judgement against you to collect but they cannot press criminal charges against you.  So these guys are just idiots.  Ask them to send you the proof in writing (Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, 15 USC 1692g Sec. 809 (b) that your claim is disputed and validation is requested.) also let them know If your offices are able to provide the proper documentation as requested in the following Declaration, I will require at least 30 days to investigate this information and during such time all collection activity must cease and desist.  Also, I would also like to request, in writing, that no telephone contact be made by your offices to my home or to my place of employment. If your offices attempt telephone communication with me, including but not limited to computer generated calls and calls or correspondence sent to or with any third parties, it will be considered harassment and I will have no choice but to file suit. All future communications with me MUST be done in writing and sent to the address noted in this letter by USPS.   This should take care of them

So let them...but tell them you want them to validate the debt in writing by saying
Be advised that this is not a refusal to pay, but a notice sent pursuant to the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, 15 USC 1692g Sec. 809 (b) that your claim is disputed and validation is requested.
This is NOT a request for ?verification? or proof of my mailing address, but a request for VALIDATION made pursuant to the above named Title and Section. I respectfully request that your offices provide me with competent evidence that I have any legal obligation to pay you.
If your offices are able to provide the proper documentation as requested in the following Declaration, I will require at least 30 days to investigate this information and during such time all collection activity must cease and desist.
Also during this validation period, if any action is taken which could be considered detrimental to any of my credit reports, I will consult with my legal counsel for suit. This includes any listing any information to a credit reporting repository that could be inaccurate or invalidated or verifying an account as accurate when in fact there is no provided proof that it is.
If your offices fail to respond to this validation request within 30 days from the date of your receipt, all references to this account must be deleted and completely removed from my credit file and a copy of such deletion request shall be sent to me immediately.
I would also like to request, in writing, that no telephone contact be made by your offices to my home or to my place of employment. If your offices attempt telephone communication with me, including but not limited to computer generated calls and calls or correspondence sent to or with any third parties, it will be considered harassment and I will have no choice but to file suit. All future communications with me MUST be done in writing and sent to the address noted in this letter by USPS.
