got robo call from 619-757-4018 message from Card Member Services on 11-15-12 @ 130PM. Another Dang call like the one on 10-31-12 from the same Credit Card Services phone number (probably forged Caller ID) about lowering interest and to press 1 to talk to a representative. Unfortunately my main portable phone was recharging so answered with the back-up Rotary-dial one (YES thats right Rotary-dial) so the call eventually disconnected. Their scam call will never be answered with a Rotary since U can NOT give them a '1' tone - maybe that is the answer to all these SCAM calls.
We all need to go get a rotary phone = NO ONE would answer so they would NOT be able to SCAM anyone and they would have to shut down. = That would mean the entire country would have to get rotary phones -
Oh well idea would just NOT fly with everyone, even though it would probably work.

If you can, turn off your ringer and turn down the volume on your answering machine message.  That way, you won't have to hear anything unless they leave a message.

These people used to be Card Member Services.  Rachel from Card member services had a reputation for having a foul mouth.  She did.  Each time the phone list gets sold, they call again and I have to give them the magic question that makes them go away.

"Do infected c**** (rhymes with runts) run in your family?"
They say what?!?! because they don't believe what they just heard.
I enunciate.  They hang up.

When one of their numbers get no answer, (after weeks/months), they switch to another 'calling from'  number.

The "do not call registry" is a total waste of time. The FTC is asleep at the wheel.

I have received over 100 calls with the EXACT SAME RECORDED MESSAGE in just over a year.  I keep a log of date, time, phone number, and caller ID.  I don't even know why we bother.  I just turn my phone and answering machine off and check the caller ID when I get home from work.  Once  a number is reported, the company should be fined $10,000.00 per reported call vioation.  One place called me NINE times in 12 hours.

So Rachel left Florida for the warmer climes of San Diego...Hahahahaha

People. DO file those complaints.  Each and every time, I do.  I block as many of them as my phone set up will allow but all they have to do is change one digit of the number and there instantly exists another.  I file complaints and although I don't get personal satisfaction from the FTC and FCC, eventually these goons do get theirs.  Remember Roy Cox?

What I started doing several years ago that has really helped is not answering the phone.  I let CID do its job - why shouldn't I?  I'm paying for it I might as well use it - and the answering machine when CID looks fraudulent.  I don't get nearly the volume of calls that most of you get because an answering machine message isn't able to fork over a credit card number.  I'm a waste of their time and that's how I like it.  You don't have to answer your phone just because it's ringing.  Do yourselves a favor and ignore the trash.

It was a recorded message telling me it was my final notice to reduce the debt on my card. They said to "Press 1" to hear about the offer. I pressed 0 numerous times, hoping it would freak out their system. It took me to a representative and she said "Are you responding to our offer?" And I said "Take me off your list." And she hung up.

Cut the cord, lady.  Call your land line company and cancel your contract.  Then go buy a cell phone and have them port over your old number so your friends and family can still call and leave a message when it's off.  Simple

This is the reason people are cutting the cord on their land lines.  With a cell, you can just shut it off and let all this crap go to voice mail.  Too bad the old original POTS companies don't recognize this and start enforcing the DNC list.

Hey, if you have a baby or a day sleeper, just pull the cord out of the wall or better yet get a monthly cell contract.

Debt Collector
Places such as Delta Outsource Group (Debt Collector) will Spoof calls from various numbers and do these annoying hangups, dead air, foreign language, fraudulent advertising etc. to agitate the victims.  Then they will call as themselves, for real, and be real polite.  The theory behind this is that the people are so frusterated by the fraudulent and anoying phone calls prior to this, that they are actually pleased to hear a decent voice on the other end and therefore are victim to giving their personal data more freely to these Debt Collectors.

"Card Services" scam. You press "1" & they answer with: "are you calling to lower your credit card interest rate"? I launch into, "Please remove this number from your calling list" - and if they haven't hung up on me by this time, I assert that "I'm on the "Do Not Call list" Then they hang up on me. I'd really like to know who is running this operation. Anyone out here know? Another tactic is to waste their time,  Act like you're
interested.  Then make a noise he can hear. and ask him to hold on for a minute.  Just put the phone down
and every few minutes make some noise like you're cleaning up a mess.  If you have a plate of cup near by,
they are good props to make noises, to keep them interested.  I'm over 4 minutes so far.

So I pressed '1' and then got disconnected. DARN was already to give them my Raunchy British Diddy when at 1146 AM Rachel calls and gives the normal Credit card Interest SCAM info from 786-358-9772 (see this number & call).

No one can block this number from calling your home but you. Look into the blocking options for your phone service. For many landlines, dialing *60 will take you into a call blocking/call screening setup menu. If you are receiving the calls on your cell phone, contact your carrier to see what blocking options are available.

I have asked multiple times to be taken off their call list. Usually their representative hangs up on me. Today I was told, "Don't answer the phone" prior to the hang up. Very annoying!
