I got a text message saying I have an account that has been suspended for suspicious activity from FCFCU.com something I've never heard of.

Why are they still sending messages in September if the FTC disconnected the line?  Are the folks saying that the smishers?  I got this text in Aug 08 and ignored it.  I just now called the number and got "bee-dee-BEEP - the number you have called is not in service ... I1008" - didn't say anything about the FTC, but maybe that changes with time.  I wondered because another site like this one said 0 FTC complaints had been filed.

Got a text from this number. I Don't have an account from fcfcu. Its a scam...lets find out who they are and make there life miserable.....

Just called the number - number disconnected by the FTC - suspected that this is a scam trying to phish info for their benefit.

I RECEIVED THE SAME TEXT AND I JUST GOT ANOTHER ONE FROM SEC@WEBONLINE.COM SAYING MY SALIN B-A-N-K SERVICES WER SUSPENEDED AND I DO NOT BANK THERE, SO BE VERY AWARE THE NUMBER FOR THIS ONE IS 703-953-1916!!!!

Same message.  Just got it today.  I did wonder, but I did the first thing you should always do! Go online and I found this site.  It's so cool to have instatn info!

I am receiving the same text message as everyone else. "Your Finance Center F-C-U services was suspended for suspicious activity, call us at 6197934988". I called Sprint about it and they don't know anything about it and told me not to worry about it. Well, I don't like it and I DO worry about it!

I got the exact same text, I know it's a scam because I only have one bank and they don't have my cell #, just my home phone number.  Don't fall for it!!

Got the same text ,called the number then they asked for my credit card #
so I figured it was a scam and I hung up I use to have a account with the Finance Center which it is now called the financial center beware don't give them any information

I received this text at 7:05pm EDT on 14 Aug 2008:
"Your Finance Center F-C-U services was suspended for suspicious activity, call us at 6197934988"

Aside from the bad grammar in this text, from an allegedly "official" source, the fact that the callback number is to a number that isn't toll free is what clued me to believe this is a scam.

I received a text message from dept@fcfcu.com stating, "Your Finance Center F-C-U services was suspended for suspicious activity, call us at 6197934988".  I do not have a FCFCU account, so this is definitely a scam.

Got the same text - it is totally bogus

Report it to the real fcfcu.com by emailing them at Phishing@fcfcu.com

My husband received the same text at 2am this morning. Reporting this and the EPPIcard text to the Attorney General.

Yep.  got this sometime in the past 8 hours.  "Your Finance Center F-C-U services was suspended for suspicious activity, call us at 6197934988."  

Lucky for me, I have no relationship with FCFCU.

I just called the number and it says the Federal Trade Commission has disconnected the line becuase it may be involved in a scam!

I got it last night. Yep, it's a scam. I was troubled since that's my c.u! I reproted it this morning. Remember, kids, don't give out any info over the phone!

I got this message overnight sometime and it said the same thing. I have never heard of the company before. I was pretty sure it was a smishing scam. Make sure everyone knows!!!!

im pissed off too.. sometimes i wish i could throw my phone out the window..
first of all this woke me up in a middle of a nice sleep, and secondly, i have received other similar text on my kids phones..

I had this number text this am at 4:26.  I called, like an idiot, and it said was no longer in service, and was part of phishing and a scam. Then i read the above comments... My phone company, Sprint, looked into it for me and said it could have indeed attached itself to my account.  They have made a note on my account, and if this number does attach itself, i have to fill out forms , since they can't delete the third party.  As of now, they see no activity.. hopefully i don't have to change my phone number as a result, since these places attach themselves to the "phone number" involved.. good luck everyone!

i too got this text message ... im glad i decided to google it ... this is my first celluar spam

second time recieved this text message... My husband is an IT guy, and he says this is a scam... Dont REPLY! DONT CALL! they attach themselves to your bill, and run it up!

I also received a text message that said:

My phone shows this message came from: dept@fcfcu.com

Not so much a call, but this number was listed in a text message reading as follows:
"Your Finance Center F-C-U services was suspended for suspicious activity, call us at 6197934988"

Nice grammar, too.  I shouldn't be surprised that the area code is nestled right against the Mexican border...

Anyway, likely scam.
