Got a call yesterday from Diamond Resort with "wonderful news", 619-858-3120 was what showed up on my caller ID, said my husband was picked to win 100,000 cash or a car because he entered a drawing at Arrowhead Mall in Glendale, AZ but that we needed to attend a meeting and he insisted that we both had to go, gave us dated of 03/21, 03/22, 03/23 as only days available and we must commit BEFORE they can send us an email stating where to go. He said odds are 250,000 to 1, but then said that no more than 20 are invited to each event. So I said the math didn't make sense in regards to the odds, he didn't have an answer for this. He did say that we WON a prize guaranteed (gave me verbally 5 vacation destinations to choose from) and that if we attended we would be given a scratcher ticket that could be the winner for the car or cash. Told me over and over we are guaranteed to walk out with one of the 5 vacations just for our attendance , our choice. I asked if this was a time share and he said well....yes. You come and listen for 2 hours with NO obligations and still get the prize you choose. I asked what is the purpose of all of this? He said it was the way they (Desert Diamond Resorts) advertise by "word of mouth" and all they ask is we tell someone about the fun we had at the destination we chose. I blocked the call.

It's a timeshare boiler room Diamond Resorts (aka Pacific Monarch). They are near the Mission Valley area of San Diego. They call you from random phone numbers in their dialer. But call and tell you that you entered some shopping center drawing and won a prize.  Due to high turnover of their telemarketers, they post job ads every few weeks like this one:

I just received a call from 619-516-4276 saying I had entered a drawing for a new car and my name was pulled as a winner and that there are 2 grand prizes, a car or a$100K. She very clearly articulated that there are various appt times that the tickets are being pulled from the drawing and that both my boyfriend and I needed to be present to win and she knew my boyfriends name (i never told it to her). She said they have several offices in Tempe AZ near Scottsdale fashion square and the times available for me to schedule when "we would be present" to be picked were: Weds-Fri 4:30pm or 7pm or Sat & Sun 10am or 12:30pm. She said pizza, salad, and refreshments were available at the 4:30pm time.

Her name was Dolores and the return # she gave me to schedule an appt was 619-858-3120 x58.

I received a call from this number, it was regarding an entry form I filled out (I did),  the second time, I answered, it is what it is.  I attended the presentation on Saturday. got my promised gifts, didn't need to buy or sign up for anything.  time to move on and stop spreading hate and mistrust.  ironically, this company, Diamond Resorts is one of the few reputable companies that actually give you your choice of gifts for attending.

Received a call regarding a contest I may have entered at Glendale Galleria, to win either $100,000 or a car.  The guy mentioned several other prizes as well, such as trips to Vegas, a cruise, etc...

He said that I would have to appear in person for the live drawing, though he mentioned nothing about a time-share presentation, which I'm sure was one of the catches.

He asked me what my availability was, and I said I had to get back to work, and asked him to email me the information so I could get back to him.  I also mentioned that I had a court appearance because I was an attorney, and the call got "disconnected" instantly.

It's a shame to think that my profession cost me as much as $100,000!

They call to tell you you've won a prize in a local raffle drawing (from a mall, fairground, restaurant, etc.), but to receive the prize, you have to first attend a "meeting".  The meeting is for a Time Share talk, they try to con you into buying a timeshare.

HAHAHA...It really is TRUE! We went and got a two day trip to Vegas & Disney tickets....You have to sit through the entire sales pitch but well worth it in my opinion!

It's Pacific Monarch Resorts (PMR)  at it again, using 619-858-3120 this time around. It's your good, ol' fashion TIMESHARE telemarketers interrupting the sanctity of your home with their unsolicited calls.

DNC list? Right.They get your name from those fake "win a car or vacation" drawings held at most shopping malls and movie theaters. So if you (or one of your enemies) fill out one of those forms for that free new car -- guess what? You are in their database forever!!!

It was Jackie from some Galleria mall about some entry form from August 2011.  When I answered, the woman asked for Heather.  As I'm not Heather, she asked me how long I'd had my number, which is at least 10 years.  "So you're not in California?"  "No, 603 is New Hampshire." "Ok, I guess she wrote down the wrong number."  Whatever.

Just got the call as well. Same info as above, I filled out a card at the Long Beach movie cinema. They gave me a date to visit for the 1 1/2 meeting... IDK if I should go. It is very iffy

Great American called spoke with "Nelson" I didnt have time to talk due to the fact I was at work.  We filled out a form at the REGAL Movie Theatre in Riverside Ca. Since I couldnt talk Nelson told me" dont fill out the form next time idiot" I had thier number on caller ID I called this number back and filed a complaint with the movie theatre for having thee type of establishments harassing paying patrons this type of companies should be fined.

I received a call on Monday from, the number name shows up as Great American N... can't see the n word, but he said I electronically entered a drawing and my name was selected from the Strawberry Festival.  I did go there a few months a go, so much fun.  Strawberry Beer, wine, food... and I entered a drawing but it was so long ago that I don't remember the prize.  I left message yesterday and he called me back this morning.  I will call him on my break and let you know how it went.  I don't ever fill out ANYTHING at the malls.  Especially if they have a car sitting right there.  You never win or your chances are slim to none and that just sets you up for telemarketing calls.

The caller Jackie Garrison left a message that sounded rather urgent requesting a callback RE: Back in January 11 I completed an entry form to win a Mercedes-Benz. She has my entry form on her desk and to call her back, her office closes at 5pm California time.  Well I did enter so I called back. Sale pitch is to be expect, and get a gift for attending an hour and half presentation on benefits of a time share.  I think I'll go it is better than the date I had agreed too.

Just got a call from "Jackie" who was so pushy and talked so loud all my co-workers could hear her through my cell phone.  They wanted to know why she was yelling at me! She mentioned something about either a car or $100,000 from an entry at the OC Marathon. When I told her I was at work and couldn't talk, she wanted me to promise I'd call her back by the end of day today.  It was hard to get her off the phone.  Someone pushing so hard for me to get a "prize" can't be legit.

Apparently "Deborah" has some very good news for me regarding the "Great Mile High Great Winter..umm I mean, Summer Giveaway contest" I entered at one of their restaurants on February 9th. Something about a car/$100,000 prize.
#1. The restaurant wouldn't have been calling me. The actual contest people would have.
#2. All forms require name, address, phone number AND EMAIL!  In case you dont answer the phone, they send you a notification email. I didn't get one.
#3. Winter or summer?  The great mile high or the mile high great? Figure out what the name of the contest is honey.
#4. I must say, I am too broke to eat at restaurants other than Applebees because I am a self supporting student, The likelihood of me being anywhere other than McDonalds ordering off the dollar menu is slim.
And #5- THE MOST IMPORTANT OF ALL. I was in class all day on Feb 9th.

Hi I received a call from this number (San Diego #) and some lady started quickly telling me how I entered some type of sweepstakes..she was pulling that convincing conversation of spelling out your name, asking you if she spelled it write.  Letting me I won a prize and she had my entry in front of her and I would need to go verify my signature.  Two things wrong, she indicated I filled out a form on Dec 8, 2010 and well...I was taking a final that day (of course I wasn't saying anything...just intrigued to hear more) she kept asking if I remembered.  I said no to see what she would say, she then gave me a clue that one of the questions I answered was how often do I go to a water park and that I answered once a year.  FUNNY, I hate water parks, would have never answered that.  Then she tried getting my cell phone, that's when I simply asked who this was.  She gave her name and guess what, one of the numbers of the Pacific Monarch spas.  I've read a lot of bad reviews about these calls referring to various of the numbers of Pacific Monarchs.  Of course when I didn't give the cell phone, she quickly said she had spent already three minutes on the call and if I wanted my prize to call 1-800-368-1010 and that I had until tomorrow!   Really, they need to find other ways of marketing.
